It was also only appropriate to immortalize IRL musician into RCU canon as parautilitarian artist. In real life she was treated like shit by record companies and went missing from public. In Lake House DLC she was treated like shit by FBC but managed to escape her cell with the help of her artwork. In real life she is back, releasing new music.
"I'm pretty sure there's not a Thomas Street [in NYC], but..." There most definitely is. The FBC is right across the street from the former AT&T Long Lines building, a mysterious windowless skyscraper that rumors, urban legends, memes, and at least one movie portray as being a spy agency headquarters. EDIT: And once again I'm taught the lesson of 'watch 5 minutes past the time I decide to comment'...
16:00 That paperwork makes it seem like the staff at the Lake House is not even aware that Director Trench has been replaced by Faden in late 2019. There's a three-year gap in their knowledge, it seems like. On the flipside, the AWE expansion to Control had the Bright Falls AWE alert seemingly reaching back to the Oldest House from the Future. It is possible that the time Faden and co spent in the Oldest House during the Hiss invasion is subject to some sort of time compression and the outside world moved on more quickly than them, or that Cauldron Lake is out of sync - but then, how long has Estevez been out of touch with the Oldest House before coming to Bright Falls? This DLC will be super interesting!
it was mentioned in the main game that the oldest house has been dark for 4 years or since 2019 when control took place. we don't have any real details of why yet... but remember the lockdown was not lifted at the end of control 1 so occam's razor dictates that their still cleaning up the hiss and/or other paranatural entities that have tried to fuck shit up in the time since.
Yes! I'm happy you put this on RUclips. I tried to watch it on Twitch, but I find watching vlogs that aren't live so frustrating to navigate. You can't rewind or fast forward so easily. Thanks, Jessie.
Anyone know if Jesse is aware of the Final Draft changes? I doubt he'd play through the game again to see them but they'll probably be important for that Alan Wake history video he's planning on making.
I like how Jesse never even tries to shoot the glass doors that he cannot get through due to clearance level. Even though he learned from Control that all glass that is not reinforced (has the wire grid) can be destroyed.
Chiming in before I watch the video: Can this possibly live up to Sam Lake and Shawn Ashmore, as themselves, discussing Sam's idea of how the multiverse works, before Shawn finds out that he *is* Tim(e) Breaker rather than just having played him?
1:04:07 I had to go back to this moment because this can’t be a coincidence. She mentioned something that is part of a piece of art later in this DLC. Does that mean she has been affected by the Dark Presence?
The movie Jesse is on about is one of my mothers favorites, she loves disaster movies and she is very perturbed that they dont make as many as they did in the early 2000s.
21:00 There actually *is* a Thomas Street in New York. Apparently the 33 Thomas Street address is the AT&T Long Lines Building (which is suspiciously oldest housey). No idea if a number 43 exists, though. ....aaand Jesse gets the note live at 24:20 or so :')
1:39:10 Interesting. The only other time we've heard of a feedback loop in the game. Is the feedback loop that killed all of the versions of door apart from one.
So it seems that we have a reality-warping artist on the loose, who also is capable of painting "prefigures" a'la Brian Levinsen, ninth Librarian of Hush House.
Another FBC would be... Painting: 😈 Arhggg, murderer, victim. 😈 FBC officer: "hey... Hey!!! !! I need you to calm down! Painting: "She used a brush!!! Arghhh!!!" FBC officer: "That was your first and last warning!" Painting: "Warlg, She... Wait, wa wait wait!!" The FBC officer starts beating the painting to near death and in the end once the officer gets up while the painting is in shreds on the floor, the officer uses its taser to finish the beatdown and throws it at the official FBC dumpster and slaps his hands clean. FBC officer: "Serves him right, dont mess with the FBC."
I still don't think the Dark Presence is malevolent. It's just like the Hiss and Mold. It's something that sustains and propegates itself through narative. It inserts itself as the monster in the story. This unseen mysteries powerfull thing that the 'reader' fills in the blanks for. So it chooses to insert itself as an antagonist, but it doesn't desire to win. It wants the protagonist to win so it can be sealed away once again and return later. Increasing it's myth over time.
1:10:09 Question: Why the hell wouldn't you develop this tech away from the lake? Shouldn't it be perfected before exposing to the Shadow's influence? Just in case, the AI works in any shape or form. Alan Wake's writing is terrible enough. We don't need the equivalent to Paper Jam Dipper running around.
I finished Lake House last night and I want more. I can't get enough of Alan Wake and Control. This is just my theory, but the schism between the investigations and research divisions of the FBC. I can see a "civil war" plot in a sequel or future DLC.
If I may ask, what did you find disappointing? If it was the combat, I think pretty much everyone would agree with you. Something seemed bugged about the light lock on, and enemies had very cheap attacks.
I won't ever play the remedy verse games. They don't interest me. But I sure as hell enjoy watching Jesse geek out and explain everything so I can continue never playing them 😂
We definitely need an X-Files style show about the Federal Bureau of Control
I want that so much
That’d be amazing
I love that they made a dlc that is just a scathing rebuke of how we treat artists, between AI and commercializing the creative process.
It was also only appropriate to immortalize IRL musician into RCU canon as parautilitarian artist.

"no doodling, just create the art from your mind in a single sitting."
"you dont know how art works do you?"
"Your tax dollars at work." I think this would be the one time I'd be fine with my tax dollars going into Black Budget affairs.
yessss I was hoping for more Estevez. Loved the creep factor of a bunch of typewriters going in the dark
Damn, even Alan Wake can't escape AI trying to steal his style.
I'm hoping that FBC Firebreak is going to be on your playlist next year. Love the FBC the most out of all the bits of this game universe.
"I'm pretty sure there's not a Thomas Street [in NYC], but..."

Nah that's interesting as fork yo, thx.
There is no better gift than coming home to realize Alan Wake vids are up. AND a Geekenders to catch up on, this is an awesome weekend!!

Good on her for delivering the company line to a bunch of pain monsters. Really tells me shes seen some shit in her line of work.

I wasn't prepared to a 2 hour video of Jesse playing Alan Wake. But I'm diving into it anyway
The oldest house is actually at 33 Thomas st. It's the AT&T long lines building. It has no windows, a phone switching center and a CIA office
I started watching just as part 2 was uploaded! Heaven!
50:32 I froze and stared thinking "wait a minute" the exact same time Jesse did.
Anyone know if Jesse is aware of the Final Draft changes? I doubt he'd play through the game again to see them but they'll probably be important for that Alan Wake history video he's planning on making.

The story takes place while saga is in watery Investigating the trailer park
Hell yeah Jesse. Been waiting for this. 1 minute ago without notifications. Winning.
Had to look up 33 Thomas Street New York ..... I love the Remdy-verse.
Wohooo been waiting for this lets go!
God dammit Jesse, it's just gone 00:00 BST, and i need to go to bed!

Sticky note room best room.
I don't know anything about Alan Wake or what's going on but I'm here for the ride, Jesse!
Basically they’re ai-ing Alan’s work and dumping it into the lake just to see what happens 😭
39:50 you know something cool is about to happen. Amazing use of audio and visuals.
yeah the audio at 1:10:50 is an audio bug, Cohh had it also and reloaded the checkpoint and it was gone. Dunno if they have patched it now though.
Lookin good Mr. Cox

"Yeah, let's make a typewriting thingy to alter reality, because it clearly went well for Wake!"
Bruh.

"I got snooched" -Jesse Cox, 2024
Please finish the control AWE dlc too 😭😭😭 I was so hype
I get the feeling that scratch is the auto typing machine is where after they got it to Alan's level
A lot of scratch is Alan, undoing things he didn't think would work, during rewrites
Infinite monkey theorem
21:00 44 Thomas Street, New York is the spooky building in Manhatten😅
It Begins
"this shouldnt take long." (yeah thats not how this works lol)

Thank you ❤
'This shouldn't take long" Yeah.... it shouldn't but ya know..... water entity demons and such may make that a little bit longer.
As always, Jesse reads the emails in backwards order. Why am i even surprised /s 😂
32:50 Dude why do you always read emails in reverse order...... 😂
I somehow always miss these lives. Idky 😭😭
33 Tomhas Street in NY is a real address
I find myself wondering how The Service Weapon would do against these baddies, and those of the main game, sans light and such.
Annnnd i remembered the DLC was a thing...

Game needs to calm its tubas lol
Hope you have a better time with this and enjoy yourself. I was so disappointed, myself.

Is Scratch AI?

I am sorry that horn makes this unlistenable. I PRAY that he will put music volume at half
Good god, that Epic logo is distracting.
Where is Skyrim?
