    Hope this video helps out some people! This has been requested for some time, and I finally got around to it! Here's the link to the cleaning kit. There are tons of them out there, so pick which one is best for you. geni.us/SensorCleaningKit

    Autocleaning just vibrates the sensor using the micro actuators there in order to shake off the particles from the surface of the sensor, so maybe point the camera downward while doing this cleaning.
    One more tip. Before and after cleaning take a picture of a white wall or also a picture of clear sky. Inspect the picture (and zoom a lot :) ) and you will be able to see if there's dirt on the sensor or on the lens.

      I actually recorded talking about checking via taking a shot at a wall / sky ect but ended up cutting it out accidentally lol 😂

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  10 месяцев назад +1

      @koka7647 not really what they mean. It’s not like a cell phone vibrate. It’s tiny tiny movement.

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  10 месяцев назад

      @koka7647 no message to “ok”? It does stuff internally (that you won’t notice), then should prompt you to hit “ok”. They sell cleaning kits like this for this reason, and internal mechanism isn’t going to be the end all be so with making sure you have no specs etc on the sensor.

      no need to zoom if your "subject" is a white surface. just close your aperture till F11 or tighter.

    Hi
    I am using A6000.
    Now, i want to buy Sigma 16mm 1.4 lens.
    But i have heard an issue about this lens, focusing problem at f 2.8 & 5.6 using EVF.
    Do you have any idea about that??
    Please let me know...
    Thaknks..

    i've been searching a lot of videos and asking for advice about what amounts to be a pretty simple, albeit sensitive, procedure. hopefully someone can correct me if i'm wrong or provide more insight, but everything i've seen, read and heard says to use very gentle pressure when applying the swab to the sensor. seeing as how your swab handle is bending on your swipes, maybe that is too much pressure? Regardless, very well done video.

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  3 года назад

      Be gentle sure - but don’t go hard on it like a nail in wood. Make contact, go from one side to the other. Done!

    Hello, i haven’t used my sony a6000 for almost a year, i took it out of my shelf and put the battery on charge. Please give me suggestions on how to check on it bit by bit once it is fully charged and the damages i should expect!

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  Год назад

      If it just sat for a year, shouldn’t be anything to worry about. I’d maybe use a camera dust blower and ensure the sensor is clear - camera fast down, use blower pointing up. Take a shot of a white wall, ensure no specs are in the image. Maybe backup then reformat an SD card in camera to start fresh!

    • @th6252
      @th6252 3 года назад +1

      careful with those ear swabs as they are cotton and can leave cotton threads. the swabs the kits come with are nylon i believe.

    • @kyletaggart

      Uhh...good question! The talking head shots were on the Sigma 16mm and I want to say 1/50th. I had the Sigma 16mm on and then switched to the Sigma 30mm for the top down. I don't think I changed the shutter speed there.

  • @eagleeyephoto8715
    @eagleeyephoto8715 3 года назад

    What you cleaning is a peace of glass and you can't touch the sensor at all.Most durable thing in camera is Sensor a d most fragile one is shutter mechanism and main board. Auto cleaning does not do anything if you have specs or dust on it. You should get a good loop to check sensor.

  • @colin5064
    @colin5064 3 года назад

    Good video but why don't you clean the camera body cover with the blower before you attach to the camera after cleaning the sensor.
    All your good work could be undone if this item is with static dust partials etc.

    I didn't do it this way ... AND ... I killed my a6000 camera. The rear curtain (I guess that's what it is) somehow got in front of the sensor as I was wiping it with a microfiber cloth and I wrinkled it ... and it was then toast.
    So, I ripped out the curtain and threw it away ... and then sold the camera on eBay "For Parts Only" for 1/4 the cost of a used replacement a6000.
    Ignorance is costly. : +(
