AI processor - 16 Tops
I think I keep saying 8745... My brain is bent because I keep switching the 7840 to become the 8740. The model is 8845! OK, now that that's covered... let's talk about this Mini PC. It's interesting to finally get to test the 8845HS CPU. It's VERY similar to the 7840HS, so check the benchmarks for that.
It scores slightly better than most of the 7840HS PCs and has a few extras, so is it worth it to buy the 8845HS? Well, maybe... and I'll cover all that in the video.

At least you opened the unit. Other youtuber skipped this part.
Awesome video. Thanks for putting it together. I can't really get excited about traditional tower hardware anymore since we've been seeing so many great small devices like this. It seems crazy but I think my building days are done. If anyone is thinking about who keys, I can vouch for them. I used them twice previously and they're legit.
Thanks for the honesty. Looks like a decent unit anyway and probably quieter than my laptop!
Did you check bios settings?
***you can upgrade up to 96gb of ram 2x48 5600.. i was fooled by the 8000 too as i was waiting for the 8000 series processors. tbh im going to wait till next gen processors to come out before going all out. i am really happy with this though. its actually faster than my top of the line desktop from a few years ago except for the video card.
Ok here is a radical thought: we need a new mass produced and supported board standard, half the size or smaller than itx. Take this stuff out of the realm of proprietary and into mainstream
8845 not 8745. There is no 8745 processor.
my damn brain keeps switching the 78 from the previous generation to 87...
Very similar CPU to 7840HS but it has a better AI engine. I think some people said that it is more stable though & slightly more power efficient. I'm most looking forward to Strix point or Strix Halo.
I need a review on this for arma 3 / arms reforger
There's tons of these interesting units from many companies, but most of them are based in Shanghai. I heard these units are unreliable, and having them fixed or replaced on warranty is nightmare.
You forgot about disayport hubs. Thats how you run these. Not hdmi or usbc, get a quality DP hub and now you rocking 4 mons without issue.
Kindly change memory capacity of graphics to 8 gb then see
I'll run a test. I haven't seen much of a difference vs automatic mode in the past unless I'm running 1000 tabs in Firefox or sometime . Even then. But I'll check
These GMKtec systems need to think about cooling their memory and nvme better.
should have compared to new intel chips. The Ultra. It also has less I/O than a decent laptop. Temps high, loud..... Fail.
'AI' perf?
Looks like he needs to expand his benchmark tests. I'm not sure when programs like Ollama and Stable Diffusion will support the AMD AI NPU. And perhaps you get similar or better performance by just running it on the CPU, but with a significantly higher electricity bill.
I talk about it... 16 tops... I'm not sure what to use for ai testing as not much supports the chips yet... and I refuse to support ai "art"... I do support ai being used as a tool in some ways... so I'll see if I can find the correct benchmarks.

local llm with zero internet connections plz 😁
It should beat the perf previous gen from AMD had right?
Thus it has one thing going for it.
Anyhow nice vid,
don't take my comment negatively btw.
I'm ASD/HYPER so I may appear hostile but I'm not 😇
@@teksyndicate 16 tops is just what it says on the spec sheet. I assume you are showing game play, to show what those CPU and GPU numbers actually mean in real usage.
I see some info on Hugging Face with references to RyzenAI. Perhaps there is something interesting to use as a benchmark (I'm not posting a link, to avoid triggering the YT spam filter).
was it GMKTec which came with a free virus installed on one of their computers ?
No that AceMagician
No
Minisforum does it better
depends, if you live in america then minisforum is better, i live in asia, GMK is a bigger brand here, easy customer support and much cheaper.
Little banana...
It's a rebrand
not exactly it does have ai added.
more of a refresh since its been improved
Activate windows, and the AI, will reflect its change.
