@@ezzyember194 You may be thinking of Nat Hickey who was a 45 year old coach that decided to put himself into a game just before turning 46 back in 1948. Other than that the oldest player was Kevin Willis who olayed for 20 years and retired at 44 years old.

Editor of the Top 100 video here (and biggest VC fan on earth!)
He's widely considered the best dunker to ever play in the NBA. He got that title after his first 3 seasons in the league which is crazy to think about. But even in his 2nd year, he was a lethal shooter. He always has been a great scorer and really worked on his 3pt shot. He wanted to shake the "just a dunker" tag. When he went to the Nets in 2005-09, he showcased his all around game. You could expect 25ppg, 5rb, 5ast a night pretty much. Scoring in every way possible. And of course, a few highlight dunks. On my channel, I have all his seasons best Offense Highlights with no dunks, so you can watch a bit of those to get a sense that he was an elite scorer.
And that crazy picture-dunk you were looking for was actually from a missed alley-oop, hah.

I am old enough to have watched him in college and the NBA. He is the greatest dunker of all time, hands down. As to a Hall of Famer, he will be when he retires. Yes, he is still playing. He is the fourth oldest player ever to play at over 43 years old (at the time I type this). When he played, he was a phenomenon. He was the closest thing to Michael Jordan in terms of popularity worldwide. Vince got the most votes in the All Star Game 4 times, over greats like Kobe, Shaq, Allen Iverson, etc. It would have been 5 times, but he got injured (and still got voted in, anyway). He was never as good as any of those guys, or many of the top tier players, but he excited crowds like no other. These dunks you watched in this video, and I'm not exaggerating here, were dunks you had a good chance of seeing in almost any game you saw him play during his prime. He was Rookie of the Year, 8 time All Star and 2 time All NBA. I collected trading cards at the time, and I got a Vince Carter Rookie card. It sold on Ebay for nearly 2 thousand dollars. Keep in mind, this is just after the year 2000, and other rookie cards were going for 80, 100, 120 dollars. Vince sold for just under 2 THOUSAND. By the way, I sold it to a guy living in Italy. I talked to him during the sale to verify it, and he was a young Italian guy who told me Vince Carter was the man.
Don't get me wrong, though - Vince could be great at times. He was always in the upper tier of players in his prime. He just couldn't keep that killer attitude 100 percent of the time like Kobe and Jordan did. But when Vince got fired up for a few minutes... shit went CRAZY. He filled up opponents arenas that were only half full when Vince wasn't in town. The NBA friggin' LOVED him. He made team owners money, and TV ratings went up when they showed games he was in.
As he's gotten older, his game has adapted. He's still a freak of nature (he's dunked multiple times in game at over 40 years old), but he's really become a leader in helping young guys adjust to the NBA and being a good teammate. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and his younger teammates love him. He continued to develop his shot range and that's why he's still on an NBA team.
Being alive when Vince was in his prime was a very, VERY exciting thing.

Regarding international basketball, you would think the US would win every international game, but especially nowadays it seems that international basketball has gotten a lot better. The current NBA MVP is greek (Giannis), the Rookie of the Year is slovenian (Luka), and the Defensive player of the year is french (Gobert). There are also good players of different african nationalities that are great (Siakam, Embiid, etc.) and Canada also produces good players. Of course the mayority vast mayority of top basketball players are still from the US since the NBA is the best league in the world. The US also didn't bring their best team in last years international competition so they lost in quarter finals, while the teams of Spain, France, Argentina, and Australia all did better (the champion was Spain). Other teams like Serbia, etc. are also really good. If you made a NBA top 5 usa vs. top 5 foreign it would definitely be a great game to watch and i don't know who would win.

"Is he seen as a top player all time?" Personally Vince is one of my two favorite players. I think some would put him in top 25, definitely top 50, but he wouldn't be considered for a top 5 list. He's mostly accepted as the best dunker ever, and I think he is in the top ten for career points scored due to a very long and quite successful time in the NBA.
So yeah he was an incredible player, well-rounded in shooting, defense, passing etc. However he's not quite on the same level as Jordan, Lebron, Kobe, Magic, Russell, Kareem etc and you wouldn't see him in a conversation for greatest of all time.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Vince play live many times. His first game in Toronto was a surprisingly sold out pre-season game. Everyone was blown away!
Watching them on video you know that something is coming now but live in game they can come out of nowhere. But often there is this hum in the building that builds and leads to many of those dunks. Yes, I was there for a few of those dunks.
