Got this one for Christmas. Great figure. I named the drones. Tank Drone=Brawl. Armored Car Drone=Swindle. APC Drone=Roadblock Missile Truck Drone=Dualer.
I also made a story for bruticus. Onslaught was the only one to get an upgrade for the vehicle scanner. He scanned a cannon truck. The others scanned new vehicles but couldn't transform because the didn't get the upgrade. But they could still combine.
lovely how this line combines all three a/e/c gimmicks/collectables. We've got minicons who also function as energon weapons. and the pop-out limbs can be seen as sort of cyberkey technology. and they all have a combination spark =]
Wow, ya got em pretty early! But that's pretty awesome too! To get a good look at something other than multitudes of pictures is always a plus. I hate that the ":drones" aren't individual robots, but with their size and hopeful price point, I can overlook it.
Interesting bit of trivia: I just noticed that the APC drone looks kind of similar to a particular WW2 German half-track model, the Hanomag Sd.Kfz. 251.
@indyhntr I find that angling the PowerCore hardpoint's joint (the one connected to Bombshock's heel) inward helps with positioning. Otherwise, I think it's just a design flaw, because I've heard the same complaint from everyone else who's got this set.
I have this one. Is it in the instructions to pull the blue connectors out at the heels or is this just something collectors do to keep Bombshock in un-combined mode standing well? The springs on the 'legs' in combined mode with the drones weaken and he keeps falling over. Grr.
I don't know if you heard (probably have, considering how ahead of the game you tend to be), but they're actually recoloring Huffer and some of the Aerialbot and Combaticon drones, calling it Crankcase. He looks a LOT more like a classic Bruticus.
Cool! I think the combining automorph is fun stuff to watch, I bet it is to do as well. Don't like the look of the combined form too much, though. He's got Animated Longarm's proportions. Also, the tank arm is disappointing - it breaks in half. Woooo. If it had an elbow joint it'd be okay. I wish you'd turn the figure around some so we can see how thick he is. Also a size comparison would be nice, and how tight are the joints?
Good review! Surprised Powercore are out already... I haven't got any of the combiners since beast wars and so am excited about this line... I have a question though, about articulation. If you unpeg the centre robot's arms, wont that give decent shoulder articulation in combined mode? (like make the arms touch each other in front, spread out, etc) or will the ball joints of the centre robot lose to the weight of the arms?
As I said before, love the automorphing limbs! If the combiner sets like this are deluxe priced I won't complained. But if they don't come with these limbs they should be scout priced. We are living in the golden age of scout Transformers.

I wouldn't even go so far as to call the limbs "drones". I like to think that (in this case) Bombshock infiltrates a military base, picks up whatever tanks etc. are around and slams them onto his arms and legs, using his "power core" to alter them into bigger limbs for himself. so they're really just earth vehicles forcibly turned into parts for the transformer in the middle. at least, that's the reason I like the idea
There are a couple of annoying flaws on my figure 1. the left shoulder doesn't peg in 2. In vehicle mode, bombshock's side panels don't fold up correctly
@optimusb1327 That was the idea friend. If you can see, all the new Power core combiners 5 packs are a review of the original G1 combiners with slight differences. For example, the Rallybots look like Menasor team, and Bombshock looks like the leader of the Combaticons, and so on.
When are these coming out and where are they? Sorry to sound stupid, but are they going to be at Walmart? That's the only real place to get Transformers where I am located.

is it just me or did the decepticons get the better end of this deal? This isn't an unfamiliar concept...we saw this in transformers energon/superlink with Optimus Prime
I only bought this so I could use up one of my old gift cards. Plus the Bruticus design looks even more G1 accurate than the energon one. Energon Bruticus is made better though.
@dkcortez1 are you canadian? if so, the canadian moldes for this are fucked atm...i just bought it in pickering ontario and the left leg wouldnt snap in right either..i returned it to the coubourg ontario store and exchanged it for a new one, only to find out that the left leg problem is still there...plastic must have built up in the mold and all the canadian versions of this toy got fucked..im so mad....
the gimmick here is terrible, but i agree the center scout class is pretty epic. Most of the gimmicks that have been goin on for like the last 20 years of TF toys lol
These guys have been getting so much flak, and I'll admit I avoided them, cos I'm a fan of good articulation, posability etc... But on a whim I got Bombshock and d'yknow what, these are real fun toys, great to 'goof around with.' Don't get me wrong I love the new intricate designs which are quite frankly genius, but these guys are just great fun! Which I missed in my transformers... Go PCC!

The over-the-shoulder guns kinda remind you of what the Animated Voyager Blitzwing could've been. The combination is cool, though.

@megatronisdead Same here. Probably just a problem with the design. I just adjust the joint a tiny bit to straiten it out.
Honestly, I think this guy is pretty good and so is Steamhammer, I only have the DInobots so far but I'll surely get others.

the jeep on the left leg has a small gatling gun under the flipped up hood. thats a hidden thing i found and its kinda useless but cool detail.

I think it was wise to simplify, if all the limbs transform it ends up being to complex and often the combined mode's arms and legs just look silly
