  • US scientists have successfully reversed paralysis in mice, bringing them a step closer to achieving similar results in humans.
    A new therapy injected into the spinal cords encouraged molecules to "dance", promoting regeneration in damaged nerves.
    The team hopes to begin trials in human patients within two years.

    This is amazing! As a person with a spinal cord injury, any progress in research or clinical trials is something that gives me a glimmer of hope. I cried watching this, it's absolutely amazing. I became paralyzed 2 years ago at the age of 34. To have the ability to walk taken away from you in the blink of eye, the word devastating doesn't do it justice. I thank God for people like this who try to help change the lives of so so many of us out here that would give anything to be able to walk again.

      have you tried electro acupuncture, if the axon has a kink or break, it probably will not work, but if the axon is in tact the electroacupuncture may awaken the curent, it has a relay circuit inner axon and an outer axon.

    • @alistairmacgregor1456
      @alistairmacgregor1456 2 года назад

      @Abdo Abdo no not really as its not really known, we live in a world of evidence and proof instead of ideology and logical thought so it will take 10 years before the data is there, but yes it can awaken the communication channels between the axon neurons and dendrites, think of the axons as copper wires, there made of tiny fibres, each sending electrical current to muscles and nerves contracting ect, if the current doesn't flow then the circuit is broken and you get paralysis, so you can either repair the damaged axon segment the kink or break, it is possible but it beyond humanity at this stage I think, I put below, or sometimes if there is no break and no kink, it the copper wire is in geometric tact then it is either a electrical current disruption between the inner axon and the smaller out axons, or there is a problem with the myelin sheif or bad swelling in the Schwann cells that make up the myelin sheif, even a crease in the myelin can affect this, so sometime electro acupuncture can awaken a dead or old disconnected circuit, or there is a surgery option that again is beyond humanity at this stage and there is no data or records as its futuristic, a risky operation, taking a section of the cord away and rebuild the section with Nano scaffolds, connect with molecular mix, affix the myelin sheif and use nigella sativa to iron out creases, then use electroacupuncture to awaken the nerves again, risky though as each axon strand has hundreds of tiny fibres that all need connecting precisely, the pression is something a human probably couldn't do, the Nano scaffolds would be made from stem cell and the DNA from a rib and copying the molecular composition from the section you removed, the damaged section either with a crease or kink in the axon that has squashed the axon stopping the electrical current, this can revers all paralysis but I am unsure where we are at this level on earth yet, the precision of the joins and the molecular mix needed would probably be a job for an AI robot or something, there is also options with macrophages and Schwann cells, as they can regenerate and take base cells, I don't think any of this is taught in universities,. a high quality 3D printer using the biomolecular properties from each piece in the axon myelin and spinal cord and fluid could be replicated with carbon and amino acid chains, I think we are a little off this level though.

    • @alistairmacgregor1456
      @alistairmacgregor1456 2 года назад +2

      @Abdo Abdo This is not normal acupuncture, and yes axons send electrical current to nerves and muscles, so yes they are like copper wires, its a circuit system in the body, and no I have knowledge that they don't know or teach in universities, I'm qualified but not from here. my growing mind set is different. I know how the body works it reality not from charts.

    I suffered a T5 spinal cord injury in June 22nd, I was on the road towards the Marine Corp and was about to go to MEPS to prepare for boot camp. I graduated high school in May and went on a little trip with two friends of mine up to the mountains; we were excited for the rest of our lives and finally reaching adulthood, but I lost all of my aspirations after I woke up in the hospital and realized I couldn’t feel or move my legs. I am a South Eastern Asian immigrant and was raised by two amazing parents, I intended to repay them by going into the military and taking care of them for the rest of their lives, but now they are the ones who have to take care of me. This is a glimmer of hope in a world that seems to be filled with darkness, I pray that this will progress even further.

I would trade an eye to be able to use my trunk properly. It would make life a bit easier, but I can’t pretend I have it the worst. I am hoping I’ll be able to kick my butt into gear because I have been doing nothing except staying in my home and waiting for a cure to come to me. I need to be realistic about this, it seems, but I hope we’ll be able to stand on our own two feet someday

We dont know if that mouise was ever really paralyzed or made to ve paralyzed, ONLY TO SEE THE RESULTS. That's so cruel. Also after a sci and u haven't used everything like before, for how ever long. Thank God for this discovery. I pray human testing works out. The general understanding presently is that nerve cells do not regenerate. This will change all that

    A clean incision, rarely happens in humans but I wouldn't bet against this. It's like the vibration triggers the release of activation signals throughout the spine.🤔might work in more than just the spine.

      There are quite a few people it seems who have a blanket policy of disliking all BBC content 🤷‍♀️. Jokes on them though as even a negative interaction boosts the content in the algorithm (it all counts as engagement). A more effective choice for everyone would be if these people just curated the channel out of their feed and didn’t interact.
