From a huge fan since the soundclick days, thank you for having me create this video. . A couple of months ago, Misha posted a status looking for someone to do a lyric video. I threw my hat in the ring, and all my past clients rallied around my comment. Thanks to all of you, I got the gig. . This is literally a dream gig for me. Periphery is one of my favorite bands, and I wanted to go all out on this video. They asked for a lyrics video, so I gave them a 3D animated storyline lyric video that took well over 100 hours for me to complete. I had a blast bringing this song to life visually, and working with Periphery was honestly the coolest process ever. They trusted me and let me do my thing for the entire video. To top it off, I sent the final 12-minute video to them, and I only got back 2 tiny fixes. . I'm still baffled to see something I worked on, on their channel since I started my graphics business just about 4 years ago. Thanks to the whole team at Periphery, they've been awesome, and thank you all for checking the video out. Djent is not a genre.
Did they say it was a joke? I just remember the funny code-name Fat Dracula, but they do that with all of their songs before giving it a final title so it's kind of normal for them
I like the part that goes "Gank gank ba gank gank sha gank gank wee gank gank de de spank bank de gank gank wank wank diddly de bank gank skang dank guh gank gank we we bank bank diddily".
I have no idea how I haven't seen anyone on any platform mention how sick 7:00 is; that riff is maybe best on the album for me (and the vocals add such a perfect intensity).
This video is both super sick and fucking hilarious at the same time. It's like the most badass and time-consuming shitpost I've ever seen. This song is easily my favorite off the album, and this video is perfect for it.
Spencer has to be one of the best vocalists making music right now. Some of the best and wackiest melodies I've heard. They're all so talented but he really seems to be pushing boundaries
The craziest thing is how much better he gets with every album. Most singers who go as hard as Spencer burn out their vocal chords in a few albums, Spencer has been doing this for 7 albums and there isn't the slightest sound of damage, his clean vocals are clearer than ever
Even early on with P2 album he went from what I though was the weak link in the band to favorite vocalist in 1 album. Froggin bullish was outstanding vocals and just being able to write lyrics to have a blast was next level.
This! People always talk about his skills as a singer, but not many point out how sick his melodic lines are. They are so creative and always fit and even enhance the funky riffs the band writes. Periphery is like a match made in heaven.
@@jonw3462To be fair, with him having been a member of the band for a couple months and writing no lyrics other than Jetpacks Was Yes, his weak P1 performance is understandable. Seeing as I'm not primarily here for the djent, and with how much worse P1 production was, I would call myself a fan of the band from P2 onwards
I love how so many people have different favorite songs. Shows how strong all the tracks are on the album. Wax wings is my favorite with Zagreus and Dracul gras tied in second.
Sometimes I think it might take a little longer, but this one grew on me *so* fast. Actually I should be used to this process by now, because I've had it with literally dozens of songs before. It's how Periphery do.
I was actually pretty skeptical with my first listen due to the placement of silhouette, the good tiger sound of dying star and then the incredibly long outros on this one and thanks nobuo, but with every listen it got better and better and I absolutely love it now
Oh how well juggernaut has evolved on this band. Absolutely love their call and echo back to juggernaut on this album. From Four Lights being one of the main breakdown riffs in Zagreus of this album, and how Rainbow Gravity and 22 Faces have totally influenced this song
Awesome job! I have a request, could you guys add subtitles to "Atropos" music video? i LOVE the art direction in that video, but i am a non-native speaker of english. so i would love see the lyrics and the beautiful art in that video!
@James Hershey Kinda sad I didn't notice it to be honest but hell that was like 2009 or 10 lol yes sir the good old days! Misha, Jake, and Mark are insane riff masters that's for sure. I always wonder how they can come up with more or top the ones they've done. They never disappoint even if a older demo is used.
let me elaborate it better. I can figure the riff out with my headphones. But it sounds as a filler to me. At least the pull-offs section... sounds like it's a poor defined section that doesn't really get along with Spencer voice, in terms of speed and tone. Try listening the instrmental part of it, then let me know. There's something not working there properly in my opinion.
I like the middle of this song a lot. The part at 5:32-6:59 after the solo is very ethereal and dark chill. The part from 7:00 gives me Alice in Wonderland vibes with the "who's been painting my roses red?!" and the tension is building nicely. The part at 7:55 - 8:39 is incredible and my favorite part of the song. Sounds so creepy on the build up and explodes with pure heaviness. Another killer track!
I can see now that whoever is the creative lead for thr music videos (at least the animated ones) they really like that industrial style, you can see it in Marigold too, and you can argue Scarlet but I might just be talking out of my ass. The blood tubes do remind me of the Forsaken MV though. I've been listening to The Juggernaut albums again and I gotta say, I dont know how you can't like this band. The writing lyrically and musically is just superb. The albums still hold up and the story that Juggernaut tells is just dark asf. The concepts the story tells is great, and because there's a story, it makes the highs that much higher. The last three songs from Juggernaut: Omega can combat almost all of P1 and P2 in my opinion. People who don't like Periphery, just don't understand how versatile their repertoire is. This is one of the few bands that's pushing this genre forward. Through and through, this song is badass, no question. The drums at the beginning are so crispy there's no other way to put it, the amount of power the drums have on this track is huge. The guitars are the amazing grace of this track though. The tuning on this track sets the mood perfectly for the story it's telling. The chorus rips because of these guitars, the beautiful notes played during the walk in the moonlight are calming and puts you in a completely different perspective. The solo on this track is probably the best from periphery ever, I wanna know who did it lmao. The build up is so reminiscent of The Scourge it's not even funny. This build up us better then that or at least at the same level. Everything after that build up is just pure gold. The vocals are my favorite from the whole album. The delivery is perfect, the highs are fucking high and the story that Spencer tells with his voice, I dont think any other vocalist can do it. The way he writes lyrics are so beautiful and impactful, on the level of In The Presence of Enemies from Dream Theater. This and Thanks Nobuo are masterclass, and set a new paradigm for this genre.
This is one of the songs of all time! Nah seriously every song is a banger, this one especially. I had thought the chorus was saying "bellow" with the power behind it, but bow low is cool too
That interlude at around the five minute mark being reminiscent of All New Materials hit me like a truck on the first listen of this track. Felt like I was sent back in time to my high school days, trying to learn it on guitar. I haven’t had an emotional reaction like that to music in a long time.

There's one single phrase in this song that sends goosebumps down my spine every time I hear it. At 6:42 "Into The Night". The way Spencer's voice is distorting and generating this harmonic/rasp on those words is absolutely chilling and haunting. Unreal
Big up for the vocalist, this album the vocals are more mature, and the melodies, are not the usual "la la lalalala let's play in the garden and chase butterflies" vocals like the previous albums.

I really love how Spencer’s melody at 5:47 is the exact same as one of the ones from Atropos but with an eerie twist
It's also much slower
Atropos is probably in a major key and this in a minor key
The melody is the same, I think it's just the surrounding harmony that's different
