"Just farm Giant Lord" - While this would make this significantly faster and probably more efficient, it just takes a lot of fun out of the experience. Not to mention the variety that is applied to many different bosses, cool techniques, and funny moments.
After finishing Elden Ring's DLC I had the urge to jump baxk into this game for some reason - they feel very similar in ways, and not just mechanics but visuals and some design choices match up nicely.
I hope they remake DS2 someday. This game deserves a second chance at life just like Demon's Souls. But, i honestly would love to see remakes of all the old Fromsoftware games - namely: Shadow Tower and the Kings Field series, those games were charming and unique.
This was great. I def think Havel shield is a little over kill tbh but overall this pretty much how I would run multiple Ng+ runs on Ds2. Can’t wait to see the end!
Wouldn't it be worth it to switch to the Tseldora set after each boss fight? That's 25% extra souls, and you can do it quite easily, you have enough time between the boss dropping to 0 and the actual soul gain.
Giant Lord, in terms of farming souls is optimal entirely due to the fact that his arena has a bonfire ascetic in it My go-to farming method when going for SL838 was the Velstadt+Vendrick route.. as funny as it sounds. Did it until I got bored or ran out of ascetics, went to the Abyss to farm some more and repeat Doing two bosses instead of one just made me enjoy it that much longer without burning out, the need for ascetics reduced that burnout from farming, and when I got bored of two, just resorted to giant lord again. Not to mention the Giant Lord gives you like 600k when you farm it, whereas the Velstadt+Vendrick duo gives over 1.1 million.. I might be able to give actual proper numbers, I had them saved in a .txt because I did calculate if my route resulted in better souls/second rate.

Why don't you just farm the Giant Lord? His arena has a bonfire ascetic in it and each run only takes a few minutes if you use Heavenly Thunder with a +10 Lightning Dragon Chime, Lightning Clutch Ring etc.
