while i pretty much only ever wear steel toed boots anyways so am good on that. 😂👍that and out of curiosity and this is probably a stupid question, but how do you tell whats a bad trailer or not? besides the lights on the back being out or one of the tires going flat.
A bad trailer is any trailer that will not pass a DOT inspection. Anything from lights, tires, air leaks, suspension issues, connection issues, cracked bumper, broken hinges or doors. If you have a reefer that will not start or hold temperature, it's a bad trailer.
@ramtough4384 I didn't really think it was the yard dogs job though to check the suspension and the reefers ac's. I guess with the suspension though you could probably tell if it's bad or not from pulling the trailer around the yard.
@thetreedraggon At the end of the day, it's the driver's responsibility. The company I worked for, it was policy that we checked to the best of our ability as yard dogs, pre tripping is the term used. We are not knowingly going to put a non working trailer to a door to be shipped outbound. But yes, in some companies, the yard dogs also inspect.

Hey there,
What kind of gloves you guys use outside the yard as a spotter?
They are called: Wells Lamont- HydraHyde leather work gloves.
In the winter time, I try getting some warmer ones.
Yard spotters always set trailers too low, so many times I could not get under a trailer. I always thought they were too lazy to wind the gear up.
It's a yard goat. What spotter truck? That's what we called it when I did it.
When is the next video coming
