With 1.5million views at the time of this writing, these tracks are rising from the past and underground right up to the surface.
some of them aren't even underground anyway, artifacts for example had two albums on a label that was far from underground, and they made the charts too
Game repressing Game. Real OG's- even those that many haven't heard of- they set the bar. The Real Real.
6.1 million now my boy!!
7.2million now (totally not from me listening to this on repeat for a whole week)
Probably one of the best mixes of this genre I've ever heard. Every track is a straight banger, and I cant stop listening. Mad props.
Listen to Debonair P Blends series there's 19 of them and they're all dope!
Go on Nicola Armelin channel. Plenty of dope mixs over there too ! Enjoy my man.

This music takes me way back in time to the world that doesn't exist anymore
nope. We far removed
The world any human has remembered is always gone seconds after experiencing. In hindsight alone we can appreciate and miss what we interpreted as trials and tribulations. Your brain remembers the best and worst of each thing, often not the whole entire reality.

Straight up
True that 💯
Fantastic music.. Still criminally underrated
this makes me appreciate being born in this time to listen to all this good music so easily. This stuff would have been difficult to get a hold of I imagine
I HATE THAT EVERYTHING RECYCLES EXCEPT HIP HOP ! PEACE KING!
That Citizen Kane & Down To Erf beat is very nice! Super chill and the snares hit hard. Reminds me a bit of Mobb Deep's "Hell on Earth".
I always feel like i'm in heaven or at pure ease whenever I listen to this specific era of music.
"Laid Back" by Big Tabb... What a flow, what a beat, what a sound... This is never gonna come back.
Yep I'm lovin' that one too...but then it flips to an even colder track Stressfield Days :)
The last decade of the 90s was an explosion in creativity particularly in music, especially rap and grunge.
Pretty sure there was no last decade of the 90's, since the 90's was a decade.
To be honest, i've always been a heavy metal kinda guy when it came to music, rap/hip hop has never really been my thing. But I gotta say, I turned this on while taking a walk and it completely changed my whole perspective on the genre, I discovered an entire separate world of great music that I was completely overlooking for so long. Some absolute gems here, thank you! 👍
My advice to you is have it All. 🎼. All of it. 💕💕💕🎼🎁
Yo fr, underground late 80's/early 90's hip-hop/rap truly is something else
And how they use syllables to emphasize beats/create one overtop is truly insane
The opposite from singing note
Plus the usage of internal, syllabic, double entendres and all these particular things found in poetry slam is what kills me
Often the quality of speech and dialogue is unparalelled
Damn
Farfetched from the usual carach angren, old opeth and belphegor i'm used to
you might want to check one of older eminems music

I don't know how these groups were all underground!!! Straight fire, this is the 90s 100%. Thank you for uploading these jams.
The industry where people get fame was never about actual talent unless one they could exploit. It’s underground because it’s real raw and inspires. They want Satan in everything and hip hop isn’t about that.

Im a simple man.... 5 seconds in I hear 90s boom bap - I click like!
This what hip hop and rap needs. This type of smooth, focused, and controlled aggression that just flows beautifully. I don't know if this is just a east coast style of the genre but I really like how urban this style is.
east coast rap is more smoother and atmospheric than west one
definitely east coast. east coast do the best hip hop.
@@kenwkls6392 aint no way you listen to west coast g funk and think its not smooth and atmospheric
both are great but I'm gonna have to go with west coast by a little
@cognus3372 nah, not too keen on the guitar sound in funk. I prefer the hard-core rawness from East Coast. The drum patterns and the bounce. There's not really any boom bap in the west coast. Although I do like that Sam sneeds "recognise" track. Even ras kass and xzibits old stuff was alright.

Eternally thankful for discovering that masterpiece
First time i been hype about hip-hop since donda. Glad drizzy reminding people
is this branch of hip hop specifically called 90's hip hop? i love the old school sound like these, where you feel some drums, new york jazz bits from a piano, sax, some DJ mixing or that marimba sounding instrument. makes you feel like you're in the city as opposed to the robotic beats produced nowadays and lacks these instruments in the background. plus these raps tell stories!
Yes, this is called hip-hop of the 90s, thanks for the nice comment, you very specifically described the reason why I really love this style of these years!)
The beat style itself is called Boom Bap, because of how the kicks and the snares sound. It´s a constant boom, bap. boom, bap. boom, bap... Some of the greatest artists of that time are Rakim, Gang Starr, Big L, A Tribe Called Quest, Naughty By Nature, Mobb Deep, The Notorious BIG, Souls of Mischief and so many more. If you want to, you can check out my Boom Bap and Jazzhop playlist on Spotify. It´s nowhere near as comprehensive as it really should be, but it´s definitely a nice start for somebody who´s just been getting into Boom Bap.: open.spotify.com/playlist/40buE7obGQeRJiK74xUSyC?si=kM-r3HGbT-WbRUPNY5BSUw

Been back in time in the good old 90s 😋👍.... God damn, forgot about these awesome sounds..... You made my day 😅👌
Great selection, thank you! The 80’s and 90’s massive push for creative mixing went back to artists like Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones in the late 70’s. Dubbing jazz horns, vocals and drum beats to create new music was affordable because people wanted their music to span all genres. Now its survival of the fittest and that type of collaboration is seen as weak or impossible because of the paperwork. Beats don't flow as music like they used to. It's a systematic bass sound now (2023). At least some good music always gets out.
I feel like a lot of people feel like music took a step back but you gotta look in the right spots look at stuff like Pro Era or griselda they brought back that old school sound but did it in a way where the younger generation would still like it I think you just gotta look for it there’s tons of great music today
Ahhh.... I do recall the time when I CAN enjoy listening to Hip Hop. Thank you!
