In this video I discuss aquarium fish feeding and nutrition.
This is the first Facebook Live Tank Talk.
I am a Certified Aquatic Veterinarian and work with public aquariums and tropical fish wholesale and retail businesses to improve the health of the tropical fish and train their associates on fish care, disease prevention and treatment, and aquarium water quality.

When feeding your fish, give them the amount of food that they can consume in about 3 to 5 minutes. If all the food is gone within one or two minutes you should feed them a little more.
If there’s food floating around after about five minutes you have probably given them too much food.
It is a little different for fish that are bottom feeders or nocturnal night feeders. Those fish may require special feeding to ensure that they are getting food as well. Most tropical fish can be fed twice daily, but as mentioned, some fish that are carnivorous and eat large meals at a time may not need to be fed every single day. Herbivorous fish like to eat smaller meals more frequently.
