Tobit - A poem based on the Book of Tobit from the Bible. Versified by Nicholas Saint-Erne
This poem is based on a story from the Old Testament’s Apocrypha, a set of religious books written between the years 400 and 70 BC. This is called the Intertestamental Period because it occurs later than the Hebrew Old Testament (the Jewish Covenant) and before the birth of Jesus, written about in the Greek New Testament (the Christian Covenant).
The Book of Tobit was written around 200 BC, when Jerusalem was under the control of the Macedonian rulers of Syria (the Seleucids). During this time, the Judeans (Jews) were being persecuted by their rulers.
The story of Tobit deals with the Assyrian persecution of the Israelites, which had occurred five centuries earlier. It tells of the eventual...

    Its very...purple...and that photo at the start does not make it appealing, but, thank god, that dies away over the video. (And it does look like something a peasant would have on his table straight out the gate.) Having seen what goes into it now I think I'll try it. I think by "breadcrumbs" they don't mean the dusted version we know today. I think they meant actual crumbs you break into the stew from old bread, so some bigger pieces in there too that help soak up that beef flavor from the bones. Very interesting to see the algorithm actually suggesting *interesting* things to me!

      @nicksaint-erne 9 дней назад

      You are right about the color! I used red cabbage but recommend to try it with green cabbage. The flavor was good though. Also agree with your assessment on the bread crumbs. Using day old dry bread and crumbling it as a thickener would be better than using the fine crumbs.
