How to Select Multiple Files on Mac

Want to select multiple files on Mac? I've got three methods to select multiple files, all files, or individual files on a Mac.

Shift doest work in icon mode only list then I'm not able to drag

I watched a "HOW TO" on printing multiple downloads and he left off this step. I use a Corsair gaming keyboard, not a Mac, so the 'command' key etc are different, so I used the Windows key.

I realize I’m so slow with tech stuff but this does not work for me!!!! No matter if I’m trying to select on the desktop, my external hard drive folders and or files it is NOT highlighting all of them that on a row! For example - (in my external HD I am trying to select all of my music folders that start with the letter “K” I have to either click every single one which takes forever or select all which is. It what I’m trying to do! It really should be this difficult….

In Windows there is a keyboard hotkeys to select multiple files:
While holding CTRL you navigate trough the files with arrow keys and select with the spacebar.
Is there a hotkey like this on the Mac?

Definitely. Can't even select thumbnails. Must be in file mode only
