These two guys should have got more recognition than they did for playing these two parts, so funny. My grandfather used to watch this show and laugh at them.
Most of this stuff I don’t even know if it was written. Odds are they were improvised/ad-libbed right on the spot, either on purpose or by accident, both cases with results hilarious enough to put in the final cut.
These guys had unbelievable timing. I don't know how many takes they had to get this down, and how much was ad libbed, but they make SNL look like amateur hour. The thing that makes it so great is that they know it's all comic relief, but they don't ever break their role to admit anything they are doing is absurd. James Best had to be one of the greatest all time character actors to pull this off, and to think he and I think Sorrell had something special, in that they came from opposite ends of the acting tree-root, with Best having pulled himself up by his boot-straps from putting on army stage-plays and Sorrell having studied theater at Yale.
Reportedly these two had to work especially hard to make the show as funny as it could be, during that awkward season 5 (Coy & Vance), knowing that many viewers would be unhappy or even lost
One of the few comedic actors who could generate laughs as easy as the Three Stooges could. Ad-libbing, slapstick, chemistry….Booke and Best were hilariously funny!
0:03 Haha One day I was watching tv with my dad he went to get a drink and he looked out the window and said the same thing seeing my brother getting in my dads car and runs out to stop him haha.
Dukes of Hazzard-Rosco searching his little red diary 1214pm 2.8.23 we dont need those greasy mutha effers, anyway... as for boss hog and his eating and his eating... is the whole show dedicated to the fact that if there aint a car chase then the focus is centred on his secret snacking as the landlady tries to foil his weight gain???
How do write a script & have such perfect chemistry & comic genius! These two are awesome..so funny
Such an underrated comedy duo. Right up there with Abbott & Costello, Laurel & Hardy
Sorrell and James were two comedic geniuses!
This scene proves it
Boss Hogg was so worried about the diary that he forgot his lunch.

i used to love all these guys. and i still do. even the voice in the background is cool
The narrator is Waylon Jennings. Same guy who sings the opening song.
I'm glad the writers didn't miss that opportunity of making the seat flip back when Rosco took off.

R.I.P. JAMES BEST AKA ROSCOE P. COLTRANE. HE WAS THE REASON I WATCH THE DUKES OF HAZZARD.
As a kid I had no appreciation for how brilliant they are as actors. Pure Gold!
A masterclass in comic acting!

Robert Law EXACTLY and they were a perfect match. I really enjoyed them

Great TV shows like this will never be made again in todays America😢
"King-jacks...kkeey kkeey!! I lied." That is so funny.
Pretty much when it comes to Boss Hogg and a diary, you have to lie.
Is it "kings x"?
That's a 10-4 good buddy.Roscoe i'm not your good buddy.CLASSIC.
Thanks.
500 years to life....
Or even longer
RIP James Best en RIP Sorrell B
500 hundred years to life? Maybe even longer.
Did he really say to life or tonight?
Narrator: “Old Flash keeps talking, and nobody’s listening. Sometimes, I feel that way myself.”
Me: Welcome to the club.
Boss Hogg is close to calling Rosco a cotton-headed ninnymuggins.

Boss and Rosco, comedy gold together. Come check out the Boss and Rosco clips on my channel, thanks.

He always had the clean white suite on.
Bo and Luke Duke now have Rosco's diary.

That’s too perfect!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
1:27 “One Armed Bandit Operation.” Sounds like he means the slot machines in the series pilot.
Sorrell Booke was a comedic genius. The directors on that show must not have had to do anything in his scenes except say action and cut.
I love how he played with a tow car I didn't know they put them in cop cars
Bbb😢
😎😎😎😎😎😎
2:00 Did Boss say “For 500 years to LIFE,” or “For 500 years toNIGHT?”
Cvv😂❤
