Every time I hear this song it sends chills up and down my spine. Sam Cooke original version of "A Change Gone Come" was powerful and emotional. And Leslie Odom Jr. rendition puts the same emotions and power in this song, of our struggle. Well done Leslie. Sam Cooke would be very proud.
The look of approval and relief on Malcolm's face at the end really gets me. He knew his time was limited and felt good knowing he inspired Sam before he died
RIP Malcolm X (May 19, 1925 - February 21, 1965), aged 39 RIP Sam Cooke (January 22, 1931 - December 11, 1964), aged 33 RIP Jim Brown (February 17, 1936 - May 18, 2023), aged 87 RIP Muhammad Ali (January 17, 1942 - June 3, 2016), aged 74 You will be remembered as legends.
I highly recommend this movie as a must-watch for kids in school. It tells the story of four legends who spent one night changing the course of American Politics and Justice. The movie is both educational and entertaining, and it's a great way for children to learn about important historical events. I believe that this movie will inspire and motivate kids to make a positive difference in the world.
Leslie Odom gave it even more soul but hurt & pain … and Malcolm knew his time was coming 😔🥺 chills up my spine everytime I listen to him sing this powerful song by Sam Cooke
I herd this song and it always moved me spirit but his version hits me differently because I hear with with today's times great song and wonderful vocalist 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
It just occurred to me that this song is probably a shout-out to how Spike Lee used it in his movie on Malcolm X, which is also another brilliant film. Regina King killed it with her direction on this movie too and i cried when I first heard the song used here as well. Such an amazing film all around
And we're still waiting for that change in 2022. But then again, all we can count on is things constantly changing, taxes, and death. We have to adapt accordingly and do our best to live life. Don't count on politicians to make those changes, the change is within you. Be the change. The world is a chaotic place, acknowledge that, and let the world whirl around you, but the stability, and power, is within you. Like a mountain, you are stable, strong, and present. Cultivate your experiences and relationships, and walk with love and compassion. Then, and only then, you will see change.
The most impressive scene from this fabulous movie, but a warning! Do not watch this trailer before you watch this movie otherwise you will lose a bit amount of your heart moving.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:18
I know I’m a year late to the party with this comment. However, I’m here because I’ve seen it multiple times and still find myself coming on RUclips to watch clips . I’m not sure if you have access to the tv app called “TUBI” . I saw literally two days ago that they added this movie . Tubi is free as long as you or someone you know has a smart tv . You have to deal with ads in the middle of the movie …but it’s totally worth it. Amazing film . I hope you can see it.
Leslie is not as ridiculously handsome as Sam Cooke was, but he still pulls it off. Denzel in his prime could have played Sam, but Leslie can actually sing the role.
Props to Regina King for taking this group and making it sing! Actors were great in their roles, the writer for the screenplay was the guy who wrote the original theater play, and Regina took a lot of great a scenes on camera and made it golden! Very much looking forward to the next one.
I admit Leslie Odom did outstanding job with Sam Cooke a change gonna come but Sam Cooke was the man when this happened in 1964 and 1965 we lost great talent

Yes he would!! Well said
I agree because after hearing this rendition and learning it, I never really realized how close to home the lyrics of the song really hit me 🕊
The song was good, I didn’t feel he was the right one to play the part, having known Mr. Cooke.
@@lucyscott422 I mean most would say he did a great job

True Indeed!
most people don't understand just how powerful this song is.
I do
Amen!

That's true. There's Spiritual meaning too. The segregation is still present allowing the song yet to have meaning.😢❤❤❤❤

Thank you Sam Cooke// 🇸🇪
4:07 Leslie channeling Sam so well, down to the micro expressions, to the last seconds of this movie. I clapped 👏
Even his voice!!!
I still watch Hamilton quite often just to watch Leslie sing the opening song as Aaron Burr. Goosebumps every time.
Goosebumps..........Leslie Odom Jr. nailed it.
Such a great way to end this film…truly excellent and a moving way to wrap up the characters

While this is a great film, it’s rated R, so it might be shown in colleges, but not likely high schools.
All of them sadly gone but reunited

Here upon hearing of Jim Brown’s passing. Never watched American football but it’s clear that he was a legend

I wasn't even aware that there was an autobiography of Sam Cooke, I'm definitely going to watch this.
