F4S if you want something that will actually teach you how to play current top tier, and if you like missile sparring. F5C if you want a fun dogfighter while grinding.
the F5C teaches you the value of the strengths and weaknesses of your own and your enimy's aircraft. F4S if someone gets on your 6 you can attempt to reversal them but lose all of your speed in the process and most likely get 3rd partied.
@@stringzzzzz how so? I learned alot more about playing top tier in the F4S than F5E (not the F5C but close enough). I was forced to learn radar controls, how to lead missiles properly, the ranges at which radar missiles work, and what I should and shouldn't try to dogfight.
The F-4S will only teach you a certain playstyle for top tier, if you want an F-16 or F-15, the F-5C can teach you a way to play them, if you would prefer the F-14/Radar F-15 playstyle, the F-4S could teach you how to fly. I think the F-5C playstyle more closely aligns with the meta, so the F-5C probably does teach you better
F5C is a monster if you get down-tiered, I recently got an 8 kill game in it simply because it has such a strong flight model and is an absolute goblin if used correctly.
@@markjackson7650 yeah I’ve got the F5E and yeah it’s really good as well but as you said, people don’t sticks fights with you and just run away most of the time so it’s a little harder to get the higher kill games although still very possible and a good plane to fly.
For me, the uptier from 10.3 to 11.3 feels a lot less of a difficult to counter compared to using an F4 against F16s, Gripens and Mig 29s. Much less of a frustrating area to be.
Really? I can only speak from the experience of playing the F4S to be honest, but my experience of downtiers was that 10.0 jets were basically completely helpless when fighting 11.0 ones, due to their lack of SARH and all-aspect IR missiles. Whereas in uptiers, sure the top tier fighters have a better flight model and some better missiles, but at least you could fight back, especially using Sparrows in head-ons.
@@tomfahey2823I've flown both the f5c and the f4j (the same plane as the f4s) and @James_kerrison is right. Fighting 11.3s in the f5c is significantly less difficult than fighting f16s in an f4. Mainly because in the f4 all you have is missiles, which can still easily be countered. In the f5c, if you fly correctly, you can and will still win dogfight against 11.4 planes
@@SpencerBaumWhen i get downtiered in the F-4J(unk) the only danger to me are other F-4, Mig 23 (both at 11.3) and sometimes too much confidence. The sparrow/Skyflash has sufficient range to kill a F-5 outside its gun range and a higher top speed to avoid dogfights. Unless I really screw up, there is no need for me to loose against an F-5. But from my 10.3 expirience, there are a lot less uptiers compared to 11.3.
The reason I bought the F-5C over the F-4S is pretty simple: With the F-4S you will run into situations where you are just f***ed. If a 4th gen fighter is on your ass you are dead and there is nothing you can do about it. If someone launches an IRCCM missile at you, you are also f***ed because only 60 countermeasures. Overall there are just way too many situations in the F-4S where you have no chance of fighting back. This is not the case in the F-5C. Even in a full uptier you can still defend yourself. There are very few situations where your death is inevitable which makes it much less frustrating and much more fun to play.
As somebody who has both, I prefer the F5 C. I used to hate it because I didn’t know how to fight in it and would turn and dump all my speed, but once I learned how to play it, thanks in part to Joobs Tutorial, I like it, and I like the f 5E even more. On the other hand, I never really got good at the F 4S. I’m not sure what it is but that matchmaker sure doesn’t make it easy to succeed. Maybe I have a skill issue lol. Anyway, great video and keep it up!
My take on the matter... ( i play 10 years on and off...) . If you are new player and you don't have ANY jet and you want a grinder... You pick F-4S. My reasons : 1. A new player usually isn't good with BFM, especially if you go from props to relatively modern jets. Totally different game. Most of the things you know are relatively useless. At least with F-4S you won't want to go for BFM anyway, so one less problem for you. 2. With F-4S you will have to learn the basics of missile combat and how to defend against (notching, cranking etc.) Those things you MUST learn if you are really interesting in top tier jets. And it pits you there where that kind of gameplay is.Also, you'll get a good idea how to play both SARH and IR missiles. You don't have to be pessimistic, it will be a learning curve, but once you get used to it you can play top tier. Positioning as well, you have to learn how to position yourself correctly. 3. In uptiers, and keep that in mind that you will see many of them, you will be in a bad position with both said planes With Phantom priority is to avoid BFM anyway... With F-5C BFM is your weapon and in uptiers you'll get outclassed anyway, so you'll have to play where you hurt the most. 4. In big maps you can go chunk some base when you feel you can pull it off (you see the BRs getting played) , that means an extra chunk of RP...then straight ahead go to combat with Air to Air. It's a true multi-purpose. About F-5C: 1. As i told twice. Your weapon of choice is BFM. If you haven't played at least Korean era jets, you'll have troubles. The thing is agile, yet not uncontested . And there are plenty of good enough planes, with maybe more experienced players in that department. And BFM is about experience, especially in jets ... don't expect TnB. Also, while in BFMs, you have to have situational awareness...else you're gonna be 3d partied , if you are inexperienced you have less of that. 2. it is a very good plane in downtiers, where its BFM capabilities shine ... since that's the game that it's being played there. In same ratings, 10.3 , however, you'll find yourself... lacking. Everyone will have better missiles than you...and maybe more missiles than you. The flares count... isn't that big. You have to be careful with them. The airframe, can get outplayed as well, it is practically as good as you play. In overtiers ...you have nothing. 11.3 is another ballpark. 3. Multi-roling is possible, but loading that thing it gets you slow. TL/DR : If you have some experience with jets, you are good with BFM and in general it's your type of game... Pick F-5C. If you are lacking experience with jets, or you know that you are bad in BFM... pick F-4S, you'll get more of it. That being said, i wouldn't recommend to very new players to pick that high BR planes as their first.
Want a Missile Slinging Pain Train with good FULL weaponload performance? F4S Want a fun dogfighter that can't bomb without a huge performance hit with the bonus of being in a more manageable BR? F5C
@@imaginewinning5679 In the smaller maps, I'll run my F4J with a fighter loadout with no air to ground equipment. But on operation maps, I run rockets with my SARH and IR missiles and let the high BR planes fight each other while I take bases and any possible ground targets. The F4 platform compared to the F5C has better versatility for different situations.
As someone who has the F-4S and the F-5E (the better version of the F-5C) Id say I like the Phantom 2 more than the Tiger 2 and I'll explain why. 1. The phantom has a lower skill floor and a higher skill ceiling if you are bad at the game the Phantom is really easy to learn and as my first Premium plane I have 300 hours/1500+ games in it (I just really like the F-4S and still use it to grind SL and events it did not take me all 300 hours to grind out the tree just for example in only 250 hours Ive already finished with the Soviet tree and I'm half way done with Sweden probably takes 50-150 hours to fully grind a tree with both your premium of choice and premium account not 300) because with it I can can usually get 5k+points per match in it meaning I can grind out an entire event star in around an hour) took me only about 70 know the F-4S like the back of my hand, the F-4S is very easy to learn all you need to learn to succeed in it is situational awareness radar controls and how to defeat missiles and once you learn that you can do decent in it even if you have 0 skill at the game, but if you master it it f*cks you can make 120k RP a game In it by rocketing two bases then getting kills I get an average of 5 kills two bases in it per match the Aim 7F is a monster of a missile if you use it correctly the F4S has one of the best radars in thr game and the Aim 9H is a slightest worse Aim 9L which means its good but not overpowered also if you lear to use the gun dogfights are very satisfying in it and its gun is easy to learn because it has radar gun sights. 2. The F-4S will teach you top tier better than any other premium in game it is good at literally every play style in game it's a jack of all trades master of none and it's a top tier jet so learning game sense and situational awareness is vital to doing anything in it plus it teaches you the ins and outs of top tier fights and missiles and the strengths and weaknesses of your plane and enemy planes. 3. The F-4S absolutely f*cks in a down tier (if you don't want a story about how good this thing is in a downtier skip to 4) ive gotten an 8 kill 4 base game in a down tier before the game started with me slinging off two Aim 7s in headons while rushing a base both connected then I started moving towards the next base flung off my other two sparrows none hit and I destroyed the base then I saw my team was getting picked apart by the other team so I went towards the enemies flung off my Aim 9s all of which got flared then I b-lined to the airfield to restock, then I got back up and an F-5C popped up about 3KM in front of my and I launched a sparrow killing him then i searched with my radar and got another lock on somebody 20KM away and i launched a sparrow that also connected then i flew towards a base used my rockets on it and angled towards the next one then i got in a head on with an SU-25 so i quickly launched another sparrow and turned away so i wouldn't get shredded it connected but only crit and i continued flying to the base i was going for got the rockets off then turned back towards where i last saw that SU-25 i started flying back in that direction and eventually found the guy destroying ground targets not paying attention so i launched an aim 9 and it killed him and then i flew around for a few more minutes and couldn't find the last guy and my fuel ran out so now i was just gliding high up im the sky at a slow speed spamming my radar lock button hoping to find the guy before o crash landed because even though i was flying the the direction of my base i wasn't gonna make it and eventually i get pinging on my rwr to my left i turn the plane towards it get a lock and fire off my sparrow from around 15 KM away and then i get my wing blown off by an R-24R and lose my lock and i lost hope thinking i just threw the game but miraculously my sparrow connected around 2 seconds later and it fully killed him probably a pilot snipe or something and i won the game in my flat spinning F-4 (definitely should've lost that but a win is a win). 4. The matchmaker in my opinion for the F-4S is better, it's a lot easier to beat Vipers, Flankers, Eagles, Fulcrums, Tomcats, Freestyles (Yak-141), ECT with your own aim 7Fs which are just reskinned Aim 7Ms aka the best American SARH in the game than it is to fight against Aircraft with SARHs while you have no counters to the SARHs pulse doppler and MTI ignore chaff so you you cannot trick the radar pulse, you in lower tiers won't know how to pull a notch and even if you did notch the radar that leaves you if no speed as a sitting duck for all of the other 10.3-10.7 aircraft that will take advantage of that, if you hug the deck that makes you an easy target for planes who are flying above you to log off a heatseeker from an angle you cannot see, and at 10.3 your RWR is extremely basic so sometimes you wont even know if you are being locked or not also teams at 10.3 generally are really bad at the game because 10.3-10.7 is premium central meaning you will win less as well also ever since 12.3 was added 11.3 has gotten way more down tiers than before. 5. The F-4S will grind you the plane you want twice as fast as the F-5C, say you buy one of these and end up not liking the plane and neither really grows on you wouldn't you rather just get the plane you want as fast as you can so that you can get out of the Premium you aren't liking well if your choice was the F-4S you get a thing called base bombing opened up for you which is both the fastest way to grind RP and is the second fastest way to gain SL behind buying a blue water fleet premium destroyer meaning you will get your dream plane very fast and never have to worry about grinding SL ever again I got Upwards of 18 million SL just by grinding through the tree with the F-4S normally. 6. If you ever plan on playing ground RB the F-4S is very good CAS. Overall I love my F-4S and I'm glad I bought it over the F-5C.
@@GalacticTommy if its on sale definitely get it if not the MiG 21 Bison a 11.7 Aircraft is higher tier but has better missiles and performance for only 10 dollars more it would be quite a lot harder to learn but it has more benefits and a smaller grind since the british tree is much smaller than the American one
For any late-comers to this video, an important decision maker should be whether or not you can reasonably get gun kills. If you bring out the f-5c and can't hit your shots, you will hate it. That said, I would take the F-5c in a heartbeat over the phantom. Take this with a grain of salt as I only have the f-4e, not the f-4s. Both seem remarkably similar which is why Im weighing in at all.
Feel like a point was missed that as a grinder, the most popular way to rack up money and rp is to bomb bases, the f4s has the potential to kill a base and a half with bombs along with 8 missiles, that’s a ton of potential money made in one loadout, the f5c is much better as a dogfighter for sure but I find that getting a ton of score in that plane is a much bigger ask
You can easily kill 2 bases with a full load of rockets. In a good game I can get 2 bases and 2-3 kills with the phantom. F4s is the better grinder no question unless you are a dogfighting god with the F5c
Yeah don’t take bombs, take the 4aim7, 4aim9H, center gun pod and the 190 rockets. Takes around 86 to kill a single base. So you can easily get 2 bases and misses a few rockets too.
@@MrRobschnieder watching the rocket meta appear out of nowhere right as the f-15 came out was crazy, never saw it before and suddenly everyone was sniping the bases out from under me
@@shilohrichards-deviq971 Its been around for a while, i know at least a year while ive been playing top tier. Its just you can carry more generally and you get more SL per hit so rockets out perform bombs
For new players the f5c would be a better choice, less keybind and less uptires and even in uptires you still stay competitiv. F4s is a struggle bus with every match is 12 or 12.3 facing planes that outclass you in everything
I would say the F4S is the best pick up, actually teaches you missile combat, is competent at most things (not great or bad just ok), and heres the big thing, if you want to grind the F4S can actually carry bombs well, its engines are strong enough that if you take a few bombs to quickly hit a base your not crippling your plane like the F5C
Bought the talisman for the f4j when i was grinding the US tree and honestly was not a good idea…the hay day for phantoms are long gone until the decompress the BR. I guess if you want to bomb your way to top tier F4s is surely consistent enough. Now grinding my 3rd air tech tree with the 23ML and it’s a much better experience, not only the teams you get are way better, the R24R and flight performance are good enough to sneak you through the uptiers. P.S. Kifr Canard review pls :p keep up the good work!!!
Kifir Canard is in my opinion the best and most fun of the top tier premiums jets and I almost have all of them. Its speed means you are 9/10 first to bomb a base. Acceleration is a bit slow with bombs so city is the only map you might not be first. It's also a very competent fighter with two good missiles and good gun. I average 2+ kills plus a base a game so grinding is fast. Great top speed also means you can catch up to almost anything you meet no problem. Only bad part is low fuel and guns being a bit hard to aim close up.
There’s another perspective I think to consider when choosing is how you wanna grind. If you want to get through the three really fast and farm a lot of RP/SL over dogfighting and stuff, F4S is a way better choice cuz of his bomb/rocket load aswell as AA abilities after bombing
I got both about a year apart around Christmas when they go on sale. The F-5C is one of my favorite dog fighters. Keeping a sustained turn above Mach 0.8 will keep you dominating the horizontal fight. For MiG-21s, take him vertical a few times and come back to a horizontal fight because you’ll bleed energy, but not before he does. The F-4s is arguably the best multirole jet in war thunder. It’s got one of the best radar systems with missiles that are just behind the Aim-120s. If you like to bomb, it has the same loadouts as the F-4C. Also the Aim-9Hs are fantastic. The F-5 is lots of fun and is a really good platform. The F-4S is a standard F-4 with the best weapon systems in the game. The Aim-7F is what actually makes it 12.0
Best option for NEW PLAYERS who pick america or any other country is to DON'T BUY TOP TIER PREMIUMS, play game first decide if u want to stick longer and if u like it then gain some expirience. Don't jump into deep water it will crush you, if you as a new player really want to grind tech tree faster just buy premium that way u can learn new things, polish your skills and grind in resonable time, plus you won't miss some of the nice vechicles on the way.
@@_Joob sad reality, I had a friend who started playing war thunder, played like 4-5 games and went to buy F-5C, long story short he died like 20-30 times in a row doing nothing cursed the game said it was no fun and never came back that's why if anyone i know tell's me he wants to try war thunder I tell them exact same thing
to be honest top tier is easier than most of the other ranks right now anyway. When I play f-16c I can reliably score 2-3 kills but when I tried to pick up props and early jets I could only get a kill once per 2-3 matches. And in ground RB 10.3 is arguably the easiest rank right now.
Ill leave my 1 year f5c experience if somebody finds It useful: First of all, i already researched the whole USA tree with It, It has a pretty good research bonus and It is a money printer. I dont have the F4s but here are my reasons of why you should pick the f5c over the Phantom. The F4s is probably better grinder than the f5c as you can do bombs runs and then bust some enemies with those awesome missiles, however, i think that the f5c is a way more complete fighter... first of all, is one of the best, if not the best dogfighter at its br so i think this could help the player to learn and máster the top tier Gameplay such as dogfighting and defensive maneuvers. Apart from that, F5c missiles are trash, so you have to shoot them at targets following a linear path and from no more than 2.5 km, anyway that doesnt even matters because the strongpoint of the f5c its maneuverability and its 20mm gun with 750 rounds that a shatter into pieces anything that you face. In conclusion i would reccomend you grabbing the f5c as It will teach you way more things about every kind of mechanics instead of just braindead missile launching and also you will at least have fun with It while you grind, and pray with the F4j to not get uptiered... because if you do, then you are f*cked up. I hope It can help you guys on order to decide.
I just love the looks of the Phantom, so i went with that. Had lots of fun with it, but now i got all the toptiers for US i find i dont play it anymore, or barely.
Many others did this but here's another summary: F-5C: People tend to enjoy this a lot because it's a get in your face and dogfight plane.... this plane is all about flight performance and guns. If that's what you enjoy and you want to get to top US... get the F-5 F-4S: It's a brick when it comes to dogfighting but keep the gun on there cuz you never know... but your focus is on the missiles and the 7F (when it's actually working properly) is a competent missile. This plane will help you to learn top tier, if missile combat is what you are interested in. The 9H is a decent enough missile really only limited by the fact it's Rear Aspect only. It burns as long as a 9L so its range is really good for a close range missile... and I want to say I remember seeing somewhere that the thing pulls basically as hard as a 9L right off the rail... yes I know it says it's 18Gs... wish I could remember the source but basically in a rear aspect shot (which is all it can do) it's no different from the 9L. You can also carry a bomb load good enough to destroy one base along with all your missiles... and destroying bases is worth a lot, if you are struggling with air to air... which frankly you probably will if people are smart enough to stay on the deck so as to avoid radar missiles... at this BR though... you'll find many don't understand that. F-4S has a lot of utility while the F-5C is pretty straightforward in what it does. Might be more exhilarating playing the F-5 but potentially a little easier while not always super interesting in the F-4.
If the F-5c was available for us console account players I would have bought it last sale already. I’m currently grinding the F-5e and I have a feeling ill finally get the airframe that I was looking for and missiles that isn’t the Aim-9b. And from the looks of it 9e is just 9b but with an uncaged seeker head. And 9j is what I’m excited to use with 20g of pull I believe.
If you get the F5C, DO NOT BOMB IN IT. You will never get to the bases first, and while u wait for the respawns ur team is getting wiped and u could of had no bombs and gotten more kills. But if you get the F4S, Go into SIM, Take a fuel tank, and rocked the bases. Loads of RP and grinds the tree easy. Sim does look scary but its fun and easy when you get the hang of it. and if you get downtiered in the F4S in air RB, DO NOT BOMB, GO FIGHT, 6 SPARROWS AT A 10.3 GAME WITH PD RADAR IS THE MOST OP THING. I got a downtier in the F4J and i got 7 kill game, and they are the same plane. The Multirole fighter isnt worth it.
nah, use rockets which won't increase your weight anyway and THEN unleash hell on the opposing team with sparrows. Easy 20k RP per game if you manage to get both bases.
@@georgeousthegorgeous for a premium jet? Do u have premium account? I get 11-13k almost each game when I play my mig 27k or su 25. I mean sure it’s a lot but I thought I would get more. I am still gonna buy it. Sry I miss understood. You said „easy“ my bad. 🙂
My buddy has a F5, it's ridiculously slow, no energy retention. He hit burner a good 3s before me on the runway, then I hit the burner and ran right around him. Same thing in the air. And he's out of shorts rather quickly...I'll boom and zoom with my phantom over that any day
The F5C is such a fun premium i'd consider it to be the best premium in the US tech tree. If someone is 'in the zone' the aircraft is unstoppable at 10.3.
I got the F-5C as its closer to my lineup of 9.3 currently. Love the plane, but the missiles suck. You will constantly be shot from the front by higher tier jets with better missiles. Sometimes I get hit by three or four missiles while going through my death animation scene. Plus the Migs are faster than you and if you try to shoot your weak missiles at them as they outpace you, they simply flare and chaff and laugh at you in Russian.
F4s comes with a heavy learning curve in terms of bvr combat. Radar, keybinds, while also having to fight the fourth gen fighters. F5c is mostly just a dog fighter at a better br. F4s has more multirole capability though as it can be a bomb truck or missile bus
F5C. The BR isn’t completely broke and up tired in the f5C aren’t that bad. 11.3 is kinda scuffed because you’ll get uptiered just about every match. The f4S has the better missle platform but just about everything you fight can do just about everything you have but better. Phantoms age worse than the F5C and probably because of the BR it sits at.
I went with the f4S but I mostly play sim mode, its not the best fighter but it can still carry enough bombs and rockets to destroy two bases (in either sb or rb) and still have a gun pod and aams for other targets of opportunity. You can also go for the ground units too if the bases already got bombed,
Players who have no/low skill might be better off with the F4S. The missile choices are just easier for someone who just flies in, spam missiles, and hope to luck into 1 or 2 kills before dying. But if you actually want to learn how to handle jets properly, I think the F5-C is a much more capable plane. It's lack of OP missiles kind of force you to learn better trigger discipline and proper positioning. Though, the F4S is closer to what you will see at top tier, so it just depends on what you are trying to do.
the f5 airframe is sooo good, the f5E for me is one of the best planes in the game br for br, you and the f5c is good aswell, the guns are laser beams whit allot of ammo, you have more than enough countermessures for its br and the biggest thing is the energy fighting you can do, you can litterly energy fight anyone and multiple people easily, even in up tiers and win and at 10.3 and 10.7 you are almost always the top br or mid unlike 11.3 that face more uptiers than dowtiers
@@gofukursef thats because you have to use your guns and manouver and use some skills, not just missile spam in your missile bus requiering 0 skills or input
@@powerkingez9682 I have used both the f4e and f5e extensively, and can say they both require their own skill. The f4e can actually dogfight incredibly well if you can get your target slow, and you can rip them with your vulcan. In the f5e, you need to play like a rat, constantly flying around fights trying to pick off distracted targets. I personally dislike playing as a rat, but was still able to get over 2.0 KDR in air rb if you subtract my deaths from ground rb. In the f4e, I also use it in ground rb, but more frequently, so my kdr sits around 1.8-9, but most likely if I stuck to air rb, it would also be over 2. Don't just go insulting people because they prefer a different playstyle, every jet requires some skill.
@@creepincreepy261 i dont play it like a rat the f5e is so good at going in headon's and then baiting into an energy fight and thats what i preffer to do in it, and i have a 3k/d in it whit a 65% win rate and thats good enough for me considering i have 300 battles in the f5e and around 250 in the f5c" i do have worse stats in the C but its a worse plane and i havent really used it since i got the E
Ok the f4s is 100% better for grinding because it’s a bomber. It can carry a crazy amount of bombs and bombing bases is a lot more effective for RP than kills. But yes the F5c /e is 100% more fun because of its speed and agility
I grounded to the f16c with help of the f4s. Got bored so I crewed the f104, which was eh, and then the f5e and oh boy did the f5e motivated me to get to the f16s even more. I think i got to the f16a mostly by using the f5e rather than the f4s (and with some ge lol)
Have both, most at home in F4S. Missile jousting rewards staying supersonic and doesnt punish my poor deflection shooting. That said, F5C can duel almost anything into a stalled target even AIM9E can hit (barring 3rd party interference), and is at a somewhat more forgiving BR. Which i bring in a lineup largely depends on the task of the day.
What was not discussed is that for a new player the games in the F5C feel way slower and it feels like you’ve got more time to react. 12.3 games are way faster and sometimes a cluster fuck. This can be really overwhelming
The F5C is the sexy supermodel that you take out and have fun getting into some crazy situations and turning heads. The F4 is the beautiful girl nextdoor that in the hands of a good pilot, will be a ride or die companion capable of handling just about any mission you can think of. When outnumbered in either, you're going out in a fireball. But the F4 has more ways to go out swinging.
I will say I love the F5C but it teaches you almost nothing about top tier. I've bought quite a few top tier premiums over the years of sales and oddly enough my favorite is the Mirage F1C-200 even though the MiG 23 ML is objectively better. Having tons of flares is very underrated.
F5C if you are an experienced player looking to get into US top tier. F4S if you are a newbie wanting to buy into high/top tier. Newbies cant aim guns, which pretty much makes the F5C 90% pointless. The F4S only takes a couple if keybinds and the radar+missile does the work for you. F4S is alos a more forgiving bomber unlike the loads of F5C bringing bombs and failing to get bases because they are slow af.
joob i wanted to ask since i've been having trouble with it, what's the trick with getting enemy SARH missiles off you? Specifically with how I see people manage to make them slam into the ground. most of the time I try it they just veer up last second and slam into me.
if you just fly as low as you can on flat ground, the missile should hit the ground. If you see a SARH early enough, you can dive towards the ground and the missile will try and lead to where you're plane is heading which is the ground. Otherwise just notch and chaff and you should be good
@@_Joob alright cool thanks. thinking on it now pretty solid chance i chose a golden time span where i would have to pull away from the ground when it could still track after the dive and instead of hitting the ground or missing it slammed into the nose of my plane
what is average Research point score on these planes ( let's consider game with 1-2 kills without prermium). I am interested in F-4S. I need to push 3 fighyer lanes to reach rank VII that's around 3,1kk considering 8k per battle for example, I would need 370+ battles, 15min each, that's around 100h of game
F5C is a really nice change of pace from normal top tier BS and is great for SL, though its temperamental and you need to learn how to play it. F4S looks good but i passed on it cuz i see them all the time when Im flying in the F-16D and would rather not have to fight F-16s and F-15s in a slightly above average phantom
I think that we play completely different game, my f-5c gameplay is the worst warthunder experience ever. 80% of my games are on 11.3, you cant catch even 1 plane cuz you are too slow, missiles? lol no, they are dogshit, dogfighting? haha no, every person i meet know about poor f-5c top speed and they are just running away from me, the only thing i can do is chasing su-25s and a-10s but AGAIN 80% are on 11.3 so i see them rarely. At least in f-4s you can do bomb/rocket runs but i dont know about "overall experience". Mig-23MLA was fun to play even on 12.3 but F-5c is terrible on 11.3 .
I'd like to ask here since I'm not too familiar with the F-5C's gameplay. Do you climb high? Stick to the ground? Should I shadow phantoms or go out there and annoy the whole enemy team with my antics? Just someone who has a few ideas of what to do but unsure of which ones to use.
Wait you said the M39A2 cannons are easy to aim? To me they are extremely difficult to aim, I either underlead or overlead and can't get them to hit normally. I got both the F-5C and F-5E
Try practice with f5e as it now as a radar gun sight. I'm not a very good gun user either and whiff most of the times but after playing a bit you can kinda judge where the bullets go eventually
@@shikikanaz4624 I've been playing it for the past year. I got tons of experience with it. I used to be extremely good with it but I had to take a break for 2 months to visit family, and the guns feel completely different to aim from how I remember them.
@@AkiUwUx3just play more. They are annoying to aim because of spread and fire rate but you'll get a hang of them in a few battles. Try using 300-400 meters in the prefire settings as well.
F-5C All the way. 11.0 is way to high to jump too speaking from experience. Bought the Mig 23 and hated it as it was wayyy to diferent from low tier jets. Then I got the f-5c and actually had fun with the game.
I bought it its decent, but better choice than su 25k , radar is not great and you only have 2 radar rockets and 4 flare rockets which are flared most of the times, you can get 2 kills aprox per round or you can clutch and get like 7 kills
You should have mentioned that the F-4S is a multirole fighter, and thus is capable of bombing bases without losing much of its air to air capabilities, I think that is important because at the end, you will get tired pretty quicklu if you grind only with a fighter, I had to grind the entire USSR tech tree in the Mig-21S and by Rank V I was so tired of doing the same shit, climb to 7000m, launch R-3R, fail, repeat
@@Minth_aaa True, but my point was, that playing the exact same way, from Rank I to Rank VI or more, is boring, the F-4S grants a wider playstyle, it is also so much fun in sim, although I think nobody cares about that
@@Insulino36 I'm also on a dilemma choosing a premium. Logic says F5C, heart wants the Phantom since I'm sick of dogfighting from grinding using the early migs.
I guess since the sales are going...

I know how this could seem logical, but its so far from the truth😂
@@cookiecraze1310meant to reply, what i mean to say is in my comment above
F5C is a monster if you get down-tiered, I recently got an 8 kill game in it simply because it has such a strong flight model and is an absolute goblin if used correctly.
downtier isnt as often as it used to be unfortunately and uptiers are rough
Just wait till you get the f5e it's absolutely cracked it's only downsides are it's not very fast and no one ever wants to stick to fight with you
8 KILLS? no way
@@aerosol_2 8 kills in a downtier is really posible did it my self and the most i got was 9 kills
@@markjackson7650 yeah I’ve got the F5E and yeah it’s really good as well but as you said, people don’t sticks fights with you and just run away most of the time so it’s a little harder to get the higher kill games although still very possible and a good plane to fly.
Imo the Phantom looks super cool. That smooth curvature does a thing in my brain.
For me, the uptier from 10.3 to 11.3 feels a lot less of a difficult to counter compared to using an F4 against F16s, Gripens and Mig 29s.
Much less of a frustrating area to be.
Agree tbh
The reason I bought the F-5C over the F-4S is pretty simple:
With the F-4S you will run into situations where you are just f***ed.
This game isn’t pay to win…it’s pay to lose.
My reasons :
About F-5C:
Thanks for information

I mean bombing doesn’t make you a better player at all
@@imaginewinning5679 In the smaller maps, I'll run my F4J with a fighter loadout with no air to ground equipment. But on operation maps, I run rockets with my SARH and IR missiles and let the high BR planes fight each other while I take bases and any possible ground targets. The F4 platform compared to the F5C has better versatility for different situations.
@@imaginewinning5679 I don't bomb. I rocket targets in Operation maps. On smaller maps, I'll stick to the air to air load out
@@thatoneguy1741 It's a start though. I bombed in the F5C at first before I began running only AIM9Es

Yeah. I researched f14 early in just one sitting using the f4s. And got enough money to buy the f14b when i researched it. Easier grind
I bought both this last weekend and I’m glad I have both, but I’ve definitely had more fun in the F-5C.
If you want to get through the three really fast and farm a lot of RP/SL over dogfighting and stuff, F4S is a way better choice cuz of his bomb/rocket load aswell as AA abilities after bombing
no its outclassed and shit
Really like this new style of video. Friend is getting into the game and I’m definitely going to show his this. Preesh dat
Wtf is the user name
I have the F-4S and it was great when it was introduced. Now, J-11's just pop me out of the sky most of the time.
The Aim-7F is what actually makes it 12.0
The f5c teams being bad is definitely a pack sale thing, I bought it last year and I'd say my teams have won around 60-70 percent of the games
that would be a fun idea, logging uptiering/downtiering with the time of day over a long period of time

to be honest top tier is easier than most of the other ranks right now anyway.
I hope It can help you guys on order to decide.

f4s players are the herbivores of the of the ecosystem
I feel that the F5C is more forgiving to newer pilots it’s also not in a br with insane missile, so between the F5C and F4S get the Kfir
I just love the looks of the Phantom, so i went with that. Had lots of fun with it, but now i got all the toptiers for US i find i dont play it anymore, or barely.
Many others did this but here's another summary:
F-5C: People tend to enjoy this a lot because it's a get in your face and dogfight plane.... this plane is all about flight performance and guns. If that's what you enjoy and you want to get to top US... get the F-5
F-4S: It's a brick when it comes to dogfighting but keep the gun on there cuz you never know... but your focus is on the missiles and the 7F (when it's actually working properly) is a competent missile.
Thank you very much for this comparison!
The 9e also has significantly more range and better flare rejection but yeah use ur 9js on f4s since they burn so hot its unflareble after launch
Mig-23ml) f5c and f4s is 90% on +1 BR. Matchmaking is sux.
If you get the F5C, DO NOT BOMB IN IT.
You will never get to the bases first, and while u wait for the respawns ur team is getting wiped and u could of had no bombs and gotten more kills.
But if you get the F4S,
Go into SIM, Take a fuel tank, and rocked the bases.
@@georgeousthegorgeousonly 20k rp?
@@aquafire_yt6247 that’s a lot yk
@@georgeousthegorgeous for a premium jet? Do u have premium account? I get 11-13k almost each game when I play my mig 27k or su 25. I mean sure it’s a lot but I thought I would get more. I am still gonna buy it. Sry I miss understood. You said „easy“ my bad. 🙂
I like the way you said to subscribe. It like Brett Cooper’s transition into her sponsors
F4s has more multirole capability though as it can be a bomb truck or missile bus
i REALLY should have bought the f-4s
I just got the f5e talisman😂
Imo much better than C in terms of gameplay
So you know I mean I got ge during the sales. And got a talisman on the f5e and also got the xp 5 for sl
People who are buying a top tier premium arent gonna people who already have a T7.
the f5 airframe is sooo good, the f5E for me is one of the best planes in the game br for br, you and the f5c is good aswell, the guns are laser beams whit allot of ammo, you have more than enough countermessures for its br and the biggest thing is the energy fighting you can do, you can litterly energy fight anyone and multiple people easily, even in up tiers and win and at 10.3 and 10.7 you are almost always the top br or mid unlike 11.3 that face more uptiers than dowtiers
I can't seem to play the F5E... On the other hand the F4E and the F15 are like 2nd nature.
@@creepincreepy261 and i dont really like the f4's because they feel to heavy for my liking
i like fighting f5c in the j35xs, two wallet warriors and i can just turn inside of them and then run away and they can’t catch me
Ok the f4s is 100% better for grinding because it’s a bomber. It can carry a crazy amount of bombs and bombing bases is a lot more effective for RP than kills. But yes the F5c /e is 100% more fun because of its speed and agility
Well the f4s is one of the best phantoms as it had a kit similar to what the F4E has which makes it turn a lot better.
This can be really overwhelming
imo the F5C is easily the best jet for people to buy because not only is it an excellent grinder it also teaches you the games mechanics
One thing to note, the f4s can destroy 2 based with ffar rockets which is like a guaranteed 10k rp per match id guess
Jokes on you I have borh
joob i wanted to ask since i've been having trouble with it, what's the trick with getting enemy SARH missiles off you?
Quick question: what is the blue decal for the F4-S you had on during the video?
what is average Research point score on these planes ( let's consider game with 1-2 kills without prermium). I am interested in F-4S.
I need to push 3 fighyer lanes to reach rank VII that's around 3,1kk considering 8k per battle for example, I would need 370+ battles, 15min each, that's around 100h of game
I gave up with the f5c I always consistently got up tier against f-14s F15s
you cant fight f15s in a f5c
Flying the JA37C I avoided head one with the F4S bc of its radar missiles
F5C is a really nice change of pace from normal top tier BS and is great for SL, though its temperamental and you need to learn how to play it. F4S looks good but i passed on it cuz i see them all the time when Im flying in the F-16D and would rather not have to fight F-16s and F-15s in a slightly above average phantom
F4S - more RP but its much harder, f4c - less RP but you have hot and slow su25 if you down tier
Both are not the fastest plane in their br, but the f5c got better energy retention so, im picking the F-5C
To everyone out there! If you are extremely new! Buy the F-5C it makes it harder for me to play!
nah buy it, cuz then its just free kills for me.
I have both it depends what I feel like playing in that moment
i got the f4s and it feels horrible, 95% of my matches are 12.3
i played the f5 non premiums so much i thought i would try something new, big mistake
f4s is still pretty good at 12.3
max is 1 kill before u get fucked by a r27er@@enotiksm7257
Can you do a comparison between the F5E and F5C?
not much to say other than that the f5e is much better
bit late init
Mmmmperhaps
The f-5c is a fantastic plane, if you're good at the game already, the f-4s is much more new player friendly
AIM-9B is prety good missile, yesterday, my 9B ignored flares....
F-4S should get the Aim-9Ls, if Mig23 ML has R-60Ms and it is 0.3 BR lower but has much better weaponry.
I think it comes down to wether you like dogfighting or not.
If you do - F-5c
If you don’t - F-4s
The F4S is honestly amazing.
“You need a gun so carry a gun”
Joob being based and giving real life advice disguised as WT advice.
All of those are viable options with the F5C. Even more viable when you get the F5E.
Jo again first, Happy newyear
How is this even a question? Both planes are the same tier but the f5c has a much lower br and is more op so you’ll grind faster with it.
Phantom has more ways to grind sl And exp due to it having an easy access to a big load
I got both of them because of discount and whenever I do bad in one while grinding I switch to the other one
I have over 150 games in both and I think the f4s is better if you already know the game pretty well but f5c is better if your fresh into top tier
I prefer the f4s, it has good missiles and is a bit better in close air support
i went for the f4s because of my autistic love and interest for the phantom platform
i have both would recommend waiting for a sale then buy
Good stream last night!
F-5C All the way. 11.0 is way to high to jump too speaking from experience. Bought the Mig 23 and hated it as it was wayyy to diferent from low tier jets. Then I got the f-5c and actually had fun with the game.
Is Mig23ml still good? Or it isnt worth spending 35€? I would do russian tech tree but if there's no good jets im goong with the americans with f5
I bought it its decent, but better choice than su 25k , radar is not great and you only have 2 radar rockets and 4 flare rockets which are flared most of the times, you can get 2 kills aprox per round or you can clutch and get like 7 kills
Techtree grind
F5CF4S
Dang this is actually a great video idea
You should have mentioned that the F-4S is a multirole fighter, and thus is capable of bombing bases without losing much of its air to air capabilities, I think that is important because at the end, you will get tired pretty quicklu if you grind only with a fighter, I had to grind the entire USSR tech tree in the Mig-21S and by Rank V I was so tired of doing the same shit, climb to 7000m, launch R-3R, fail, repeat
Tbf, the r-3r is pretty shit. And the F5C's airframe is absurdly better than the mig-21 for dog fighting.
@@Minth_aaa and what did you choose?
@@delros5087 I just bought 6 months of premium time and grinded the whole tree for $20.
F5c is the way better buy atm. The F4S will get a lot of uptiers and the gameplay of the F4S takes a lot longer to learn than the F5c.
The F4S if you ask me serves as training for top tier gameplay.
now the f4s br is 12.0 is it becomes difficult?
I envy the F-5 but the AIM-7F is bugged good..
I probably go for f4s because Im about to research the f5e
At 3:07 southern us does not really tell us ur time zone, but anyways nice vid I am thinking about getting a plane in us
should you bonb in f5c or no
Have the F-4S great for assault with prem avg 6k rp a game takes about 15-20min I personally can’t get that much in pvp
that's very low. I'm averaging 1.5-2 bases with 15-25k RP. Use hydra rockets, they give 1.5x more RP.
6k per 20 min is too low 😢
