+Bushman Outdoors I spent a couple of weeks considering buying a pouch for my Klean Kanteen and Tatonka. I was concerned that the cup would be too tight in there to get out when I needed to, but it's perfect! There are more expensive Maxpedition ones but I think their pricing, particularly in the UK is shocking. I also don't like Maxpedition's system of trying to squeeze a bit more money out of you by making you buy 'tac ties' due to them not providing molle straps. They should give them away with each pouch. I even considered a cheaper one, but veered away from the idea of getting a cheap pouch due to it having zips. I've had some good cheap molle gear but also some junk, especially when zips are involved. Thanks for watching!Andy
Thanks! Was really pleased to find a solution to my cup storage problem :) I couldn't believe I couldn't find a video that made it clear that the cup can easily store in the bottom of the pouch. Anyway, took a gamble and it was OK. Thanks for watching! Andy
Thanks for the vid :) I just bought two, one for either side of my pack. They seem to function well as a sort of dump pouch for various gear as well, when you haven't got a bottle in there. Or put the gear into a wide mouth Nalgene and have another bottle handy.
Good review. just ordered a Condor H2O in black to go with my Klean Kanteen 27oz which is going to be attached to the side of my rush 12 - also black .
I have a couple of Amazong knockoffs and love em, a Stanley cup fits in perfectly with a C500 canister on top. Single green cup in there along with a mini stove and some wetwipes, wrapped in a bandana which silences the carry and doubles as a teatowel, plus everythings on it when you pull it out, not scattered on the ground. Front pouch is firekit, SOG Powerlock and ferro rod along with a wee pot of sugar. I added 2 mag pouches as well, ones crammed with coffee sachets and I need to put some bits into the other, I'm thinking just a mylar tent, cordage and a water bag. That pouch lives on top of the bergen as a grabby pack under my lockstraps. Great pouches though, everyone should try them.
+Norman Archer They are good! Post quickly and I've returned stuff I'm not happy with before and had no issues. Thanks for watching and commenting. All the best. Andy
i got the kcanteen with the bamboo top steel on steel with an inside thread the top makes nosie like on the bus. i got the plastic straw cap and what a difference no spill and so easy to just take a sip
+The Survival Outpost Yea I'd guess it would as it's a type of durable black plastic. I've dropped it on its cap on concrete by accident when it was full so it's good, but I do reckon it'd warp. On all of the Klean Kanteen info included with it, they do say not to heat the cap. Thanks for watching! Really appreciate your time. All the best mate. Andy
It seems like some of the Condor water bottle pouches are very tight for the cup while others are not, it's the same with the 5.11 bottle pouches i have, most seem very tight with the cup but of the three I have, one is a bit looser and works a lot better...
I suppose that's possible but it's poor if so as it's so important. I think it's important to note the manufacture date due to the version of the pouch. I suspect the variance comes from this primarily. I know the original Condor pouch had no padding inside but then they added it, so I reckon they'll have tweaked it since adding.
Excellent video. Lot's of terrific information! The tatonka cup... what's the size, the capacity of the cup in ounces or milliliters??? Thanks for sharing... nice job.
Great question! I should have put that info in really. I've just looked on my Amazon order history and it states on the description 0.5litre (500ml) which seems to translate to 17.6 fluid ounces. Here is the link to the item I bought on Amazon Tatonka Stainless Steel Handle Mug www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000G4XM8C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3NSODb6FSD7H2
I've got the same pouch with exact same cup and bottle. The only thing I recommend is the sawyer mini water filtration kit with squeeze bladder and filter backwash cleaning syringe for outer pocket and you have a great complete water and filtration kit which is very inexpensive.
Daryl Hicks couldn't agree more. I use one of those bags as a pre-filter to get any obvious muck out of the water before running it through the sawyer. the only reason I don't have it in the pouch is that I keep it in the bag it's being attached to for now. Thanks for watching and commenting! All the best. Andy
Also slip in a pack of Katadyn purification tablets so you can still treat the water on those rare occasions you don't have time / conditions to make a fire and wait for water to boil.
@@sawdustandsurvival thank you for looking. I've looked all over and can't find any. I've had similar issues with RUclips not notifying me when a video goes up
Ok! I've gone above and beyond here in appreciation for the comment :) The Tatonka mug is available on the Amazon UK website at £16 which is probably about $20 plus postage. Now I paid under £10 back a few years ago so I think this is expensive despite it being a decent mug. In your shoes I'd spend the money on a more locally sourced alternative of the same size. You could probably get something that's titanium and cheaper than this, especially when you consider what international postage would be. But to do that, you'll need the internal measurements of the mug for it to fit with the Klean Canteen. I dug out my Tatonka mug and measured it precisely. The external diameter is 100mm and the internal diameter is 94mm. If you find something of those dimensions it should fit just the same.
@@sawdustandsurvival awesome thank you so so much! It is much appreciated! I put those measurements in Google and found a stainless steel cup and a few titanium. I'll take my klean kanteen bottle with me western I go to the store next week. Thank you again amigo!
I came to the conclusion that I'd already spent £28 on the Klean Kanteen and cup, so I just went all out and took a gamble. Glad I did now as it works well on the side of my Rush 24.Thanks for watching!Andy
Great video Andy. My Tatonka mug has just arrived today from Tamarack (Excellent service). Like you I plan on teaming it up with a Klean Kanteen 40oz WM bottle, but was wondering what pouch it would all nicely fit inside!! You sir have answered my question very succinctly in this video, so thanks for that :-) Subscribed. Atb Jeff
Yes I'd reccomend them. They deliver fast and I've had no problems in the past even with returns. All I would say is to shop around as they're not always cheapest but if you find that their price on the item you're looking for is good, then I'd say go for it.
I've been really busy at the moment. My wife's pregnant, I got a temporary promotion at work and in honesty I've been doing a lot of the social stuff I know I won't get away with in a few months. Thanks for asking though! I'll hopefully get out again soon after doing some thinking. I actually did a video a couple of weeks ago which I still need to edit and upload. I'll get it up soon.
Did it still come out easily when you attached it to your pack? I am currently viewing new packs to buy for the same purpose which are you using mate? 👍
Really sorry for not spotting this comment! Once it was attached to the backpack it was still easy to remove. It was perfect for what I wanted to use it for. My concern about the ease of removal still being there when strapped to the pack was that it might sinch up a bit and remove some of its flexibility, but it wasn't the case. Was just perfect.
@@sawdustandsurvival Ended up buying 2 pouches for my Nalgene 1L (Steel); pretty spacious indeed, I put a small gas cartridge on top of one bottle for my small "spider stove" and still have plenty of space in the front pocket for water purification, the stove, etc... Cheers!

Just a note. You don't want to use the double walled Klean Canteen in a fire, only the single wall.
