LOL good job..... if you get 2 pattern cutters in one room you will have 12 different ways to do the same job ! 5mm underlay thats way small soz standard is closer to 18mm or 19mm i just freehand approx & tidy it up with dividers :)

Hi, I used to follow your videos and learned a lot, please keep doing it. I usually face problems when ever I take a pattern of sport shoe, please try to make two videos on it in which one sport shoe has many components over mesh and other one in single component with back seam only sport shoe.

Hi, thanks for sharing this video, it has cleared up ah lot in my process 2 making shoes, bt I would like to ask what do u mean when u say "folding allowance" & also "last allowance" would u explain please, thanks so much!
For sure. 'Folding allowance' is an extra allowance that you make on the pattern so that you can fold the leather on the top line and have a tidy edge :)
The 'Lasting allowance' is an extra allowance that you make at the bottom of the pattern so it can wrap around the last and you can stick your sole in top :)

Hey there...great video.
I have a question.. why did you use marked tape from both sides? I have seen designers marking the tape on just one side and with that they make both left and right side.
The inner and outer formes has different area volume. The Outer Forme is longer whilse the Inner Forme is shorter and wider. Therefore, taping the inner and outer sides of the last is the ideal way to produce good paper patterns.
@@srinivasansharma3433 left and right patterns is ideal especially for hobbyist, but in the factory we hate them, its a 5mm deferens just pull it a bit :) IMO underlay is 19mm, also notched uppers can rip when lasting so notch it out not in ;)
How to make patern for bouth shoes right and left exact same. I always se making patern for one shoe... how to transfer patern from one(right) shoe to another(left) shoe..
Super easy solution! You make one pattern and then flip it upside down to get left and right :)
