I’m so glad they still use the cards. Instant buy. I just wish they would make a deck for liberty or death (my favorite game in this series) but alas it seems it was the last to not use it, and GMT put a hold on retro fitting older games with decks.
I have never played a GMT game before but I pre-ordered Away Team this year. I am curious to experience advanced mechanics for an exploration simulation.
Haha, yeah, COIN solo is not a simple or easy undertaking! Like I said in the video, at this point even I prefer to control all the factions instead of running the bot :)
which begs the question....why make a game so complex...i want a game with a cool theme and thats fun to play games like this and many others seem to make things more complex for the players...just to make it harder to play and understand most games that fall into this catagory could take out some aspects of gameplay and would still have a coherent, fun game
@@georgeresso6835 Because to me the game is a work of art, not a product. It is as complex as it needed to be to tell the conflict story I wanted to model. I try to make games I want to play as well, i honestly don't think about the audience much at all because once you start doing that, you end up with bland generic forgettable games. This game just ended up as complex because that's what it was. I hope you find that insightful. In a way, its like being an Auteur movie director, the game is my vision on paper. And hot damn was that an amazing thing to do. Oh, and Mike, cheers for covering the game, I really appreciate it.

That’s too bad, because yeah the card systems are way better!

They have some more accessible (and great) games, including the upcoming Microverse that I mentioned in my PAX U video
This game looks cool, but dear god does it look like something that would absolutely break my brain.
This hurts my brain 😳

@georgeresso6835 the complexity adds amazing interactions between factions and players in multiplayer, but it can make solo a challenge

Awesome job on this one! It’s quickly risen to be one of my favorite COIN games
how long does a full solo game takes you to play?
If I go the distance (no bot wins), I’d guess 3 hours
@@OneStopCoopShop I have heard the game takes 6hours solo 🤷♂️
@florianschoppler4001 I play faster than most
gotta love a game where the player spends more time explaining the complex actions...than actually playing the game
Haha, yeah, though it gets a lot better the more you play and get used to the system
