I attended the 2020 Tarrent County RV Show to see what's new with 2020 RVs.

The term you are looking for is "drop frame". The units with a drop frame have the larger storage bays. That rise you see in the smaller bays are to cover the frame of the 5th wheel that is all one piece.
Thanks for the tour Pippi. I like how you film, slow and easy and not jerky. I have an aversion to a slide coming out right next to the door. I wonder how many people there have asked the sales people to pull in the slides so they can see if the bathroom or refrigerator is accessible. I bet a lot of buyers don’t think about that which is one reason for the turnover rate.

Some day in the future aerogel will be cheap enough to insulate 2in thick RV walls with an R rating of a 2x6 house wall, I probably won't be alive when that happens but someone will see it and full time RV living will be much more feasible in harsh climates.

I love the lighter interiors. They look much more spacious. I love the sort of separate living room space it makes it seem more cosy.
I agree the cream is not so dark and depressing as the brown and black

It’s the drop frame that makes these storage areas so big. I liked the Sprinter with the sink in the middle as you described it. The raised living rooms are my favorite. Thanks for taking us along your walk throughs!
The Europeans seem to innovate for smaller living areas which I prefer. I like something that is small when you take it somewhere but can grow when it gets there or can multitask as different things. Like slide on campers or smaller vans, they can get into much more difficult areas than a 5th wheeler.
Love the rear kitchen models except most of them the living room is too small. I saw one that had a super slide for the dining table and sofa with a slide for other sofa....nice. I also like the Pinnacle slide within a slide model. The front cap on that model is a window with bay seating. The bed and cabinets are on a super slide with the bed going out further on a smaller slide. The bathroom on this model is awesome too. The word you are looking for on those storage bay with lower floors is drop frame.

the difference in the storage bays is drop framed vs non dropped frame.. diffrent base trailer design , drop frames are usually more expensive, but allow that flat floored higher storage space.
Where's the real experience of camping, enjoying the outdoors, going on an adventure where you leave some of life's modern accoutrements behind. Even if I was fabulously wealthy, I'd still go camping in my hybrid travel trailer. It has the necessary amenities for reasonable creature comfort while still experiencing the elements of genuine camping.
Check out and compare the Forest River Roo 23 IK2S to those other mobile 'condos'.
Hey Pippi I think it's time you collaborated with one of the RV manufactures to have them build an RV that you would want. Let's call it the Jayco Pip. Or Winnebago Pippening. Cheers!!!
The large pass-throughs with full space are based on drop-down frames.
I really like the raised back RV,'s very nice living room with the kitchen down below and the raised bedroom area. The one with the opposing slides was very nice.
Because in more and more States, RVs are now being covered under the Lemon Laws, Problem are's like Pippi with your slide out will probably be lessened or eliminated, and the biggest problem was Electrical, are greatly reduced or eliminated... Check your state, it must be purchased in the state you live in....

Looks to me like the living room is in the kitchen in all of them, just a bit more area in some🤷🏻♀️...the garage is well worth it for me🥰

That ClassC sucked. Wow, so cramped. I looked at a few last weekend, but longer sized. Mine is a '96 22'. It has a good layout & more than I see on today's rigs.
I do like the toy hauler 5th wheels. Have toured & shared those in the past.
But, it's how many Saluki's can you put in that back section! Hehehe 😉 Birdie would have fun running with Chase & Pearl.
The VanLeigh line of fifthwheels was very impressive, but being a Tiffin offshoot one would expect that
Many people get the toy haulers so they have one room where they can do what they want and everything is not built in,,,,the big blank area is great for offices, pets, hobbies etc !
I wish we knew you made it to the fort worth show. We stopped in on our way through wholile travelling with our RV. We also made a video for our channel.
Maybe i'm strange, but I prefer the darker interiors. I like the browns and dark grey colors.

One of my disappointments was the lack of night stands next to the beds for CPAP machines in so many of the RV's
How common is egress window or push out panel in rear bedrooms? I see a couple with actual doors!

My wife and I spent all day Thursday at the TC RV Show, half of it in the Grand Design area. Did you have a "favorite" model that caught your eye?
A 5th wheel/ toy hauler and a nice diesel truck would be my choice. I'd have a side by side and an Africa twin motorcycle. I would go to different areas an do gold prospecting.

Exciting 5th wheels show. How many feet long, where these 5th wheelers. Are they mostly 36ft.
Then they end up on the repo lot since you can't make the payment. I'll stick with my 2008 32' Jayco with two slideouts that I paid $5000 for two years ago.

Thanks for the overview. It's such a shame the manufacturers still have not gotten some interior designers on board to make the interiors more cohesive. At 17:40-ish, there's a Redwood with Shaker-style cabinets in the kitchen, which is nice, but then it reverts to Early American trims in the bedroom around the slides. It's just poor design and harkens back to the 1970's look I thought was gone. Maybe next year...
The second 5th wheel that u walked into with the raised back that had the darker the one with the darker wood that brand what model was that one

New for 2020 is convection microwave? Really? My 2015 Winnebago WD 1780 had it as standard OEM equipment. Ditto for the windows "that go out further than they used to." Interesting how little you had to say inside the Class A's. LOL
