Yep, parents now drive their kids to school because other parents drive their kids to school which makes more parents want to drive their kids to school for safety reasons. Sigh.
Not necessarily knocking, but will you be seeking out any interview subjects who are non-White, hourly workers who are not professionals with a high degree of autonomy, etc? I recognize that I'm in the White, middle-class, post-secondary educated, etc group - but I wonder what the experiences of other, less privileged people in London are?
Yes! And it's definitely a great point. Due to that lack of flexibility, hourly workers are harder to book! I've so far been aiming to hit a 50/50 split of women and men. And that's been taking all the focus.
It's cool to see someone else commuting by ViaRail. I bike to the train station in Chatham, then walk to my office in downtown London. Unfortunately, the train schedule isn't the greatest on that leg, but I make it work. I totally agree that the "found time" on the train is incredible!
When i went to school no one got driven to school we walked (me 8 city blocks) or rode our bike

I remember a quote from a parent in our old neighborhood in Sarnia.
