You got to love the multiple meanings in that guy's catchphrase. Not only does keal sounds like kill but it also refers to keeling which is a process in blade smithing.

@@TheQuarterGuy Honestly, I'm not surprised, considering how little the two games get talked about. Here's hoping that series makes a comeback someday.
Interesting fact about the Moonlight Greatsword, it's kind of a signature of the company. As in you can tell that the company made the game if there's a sword type weapon with the word Moonlight in its name. It's been a long-running tradition for them, even back before they did the hardcore games that you either get good or you suck at them.
Honestly, I would have added Ky's Thunderseal from Guilt Gear in honorable mentions. Especially with how it was able to stop time save someone whose kind it was meant to kill.
I was hoping to see my man, Sol Badguy's sword, Fireseal. It's an amazing sword that enhances flame-based attacks, and is part of a larger weapon known as the Outrage.
It's a slightly obscure pick, but I love the Great Fairy's Sword. It has one of the most beautiful designs for a weapon I've ever seen, and the game treats it as an item, making it a bit easier to use than the Biggoron's Sword. I wish it was in more games.
I would have thought that the Keyblade would at least be an honorable mention... here are my reasons: 1) for most characters the form it takes for them tend to reflect the wielder in some way... like how the "Way to the Dawn" has the appearance of Riku's Soul Eater Sword but with some more angelic elements to it, reflecting how he is still using the Dark Powers the Soul Eater came from, but is no longer being corrupted by the darkness. 2) It is the only known weapon that can permanently finish off a heartless... which allows the person that heartless was spawned from to resurrect. Which can tie into that Philosophy you brought in because the very act of using it 99% has a result of saving people.... in fact almost all the time Sora uses the Keyblade in KH1 has the result of saving people... like sealing the heart of a world so the Heartless can't reach it (and we saw what happened if they do right before Sora's journey started). 3) It can seal or open barriers between worlds, making it great for traveling from one world to another. And that is without considering the fact that it makes it so needing a space ship is optional... see point 4. 4) It can shapeshift into several other forms, from staffs to guns to vehicles... the last thing makes it so it by itself is all you need to go traveling the worlds (if you are good enough with it that is), while the other weapons makes it so that even if the chosen wielder doesn't have much experience with swordsmanship, it can take a form of a weapon they do know how to use easier... like how Lea is able to morph his keyblade into Chakrams like the ones he used as Axel. 5) They are also natural conduits for casting magic... while not required for the magical casting, it is still something that can boost any wielder's proficiency with magic, adding a lot to their arsenal... from commanding the elements to altering gravity and manipulating time. 6) Lets not forget that their chosen wielders are rarely ever defenseless thanks to this, as they can summon it to their hand with ease.... so easily in fact that a KH1 Sora (when at his least amount of experience with it) was able to use an attack that involves Hurling it at his enemy, and then summoning it back to him so he can hurl it again... and again... and again. So Disarming one of their keyblade isn't exactly a solid tactic... giving it reliability points in a way that not many swords shown tend to have.

I mean, for Number 1, You COULD argue that the Forged in Fire smiths could try to create it in it's normal state, not with it turned "on", but that is also where it may be impractical as it's a chonky sword.
Ryu Hayabusa's Dragon Sword from Ninja Gaiden deserves a mention. Forged from a dragon's fang, the blade was handed down the bloodline of the Dragon Lineage with it now being in Ryu's hands. It's powerful enough to despatch most enemies (including powerful Greater Fiends) on it's own. However, when it has the Eye Of The Dragon inserted into its hilt, it gains the power to slay Archfiends and even the Dark Dragon itself.
I really like the Keyblade. Sure, there aren't that many that stand out, but I like the idea of a sword whose appearance reflects its wielder or their experiences and bonds. Though with Union Cross' Starlight and Dark Road's unnamed keyblades... That's sadly not as true as it used to be.
Awesome list! Beautiful job detailing the designs, backstories, and incredible moves each of these badass babies bring to the battle! One sword that comes to my mind when playing video games is Althena's Sword from the Lunar series. Although, given how not many people know about Lunar (very unfortunately 😢), I understand why it's not talked about very much.
All great choices! Appreciated seeing Dein Nomos after just finishing Vesperia for the first time not long ago. My honorable mentions would be the Masakados from the Shin Megami Tensei games, and several swords from the Trails games that I won't name for spoiler reasons
@The Quarter Guy This is a year later and you're probably already aware of this, but Elden Ring did TECHNICALLY give us a "Moonlight" katana, called the Moonveil. It's a magic weapon, it fires energy waves (no ice damage though), and you obtain it from killing a Wyrm (which is a type of dragon)
A personal pick of my own would have to be the Blazing Sword from Tales of Arise. Story-wise, this weapon is a product of the Fire Master Core that Shionne stole from Balseph, and it burns so hot that Alphen is pretty much the only one who can use it at the start of the game due to his inability to feel pain... and even after he gets back all of his memories and his ability to feel pain, he *still* uses it because he's gotten used to the feeling. Gameplay-wise, it's the basis for Alphen's primary gimmick. Some of his artes lead into other artes that utilize the Blazing Sword to deliver powerful attacks at the cost of some of Alphen's HP. And there are even skills you can get from Alphen's various titles that boost its effect, like allowing to expend more HP to allow those Blazing Sword artes to deal even *more* damage to enemies.
I know it's only video games, but a shout-out goes to the GN Sword from Gundam 00. Personally weapon of the purebred Innovator Setsuna F. Seie (spoilers), this badass weapon not only slice and dice enemy Mobile Suits into confetti, but can shoot them down with a built-in Beam Rifle. The blade itself can even slice through the GN Shields with ease. This beautiful sword has gone through multiple versions, with the GN Sword V being Setsuna's last sword he'd used. Combined with the GN Sword Bits, it can be either a big sword or a powerful beam cannon.
14:40 I'm not sure why I remember this reference as that's quite the obscure line despite being at the start of that film, but i'm nonetheless pleasantly surprised about it.
The Z-Saber and Master Sword in my top three swords still, but one blade which has captured my attention over the last three years is Umbra's Skiajati from Warframe. Can't really go into spoilers because of it, but believe me, he DOES use that sword to protect. Awesome list as always, QG!

I've really liked Flandre's version of Laevatein ever since it was shown in 17.5 to be shot like projectiles out of a bow. It's like she's a long lost Emiya sibling.
One of my favs is the Oboro from Akiba's Trip (the sword in my avatar) It doesn't have much in the way of amazing lore but it looks sick and has a really fun moveset based around wide sweeping arcs and piercing thrusts that gives it really good AoE damage (in a game where you're often fighting 2v8-12)

So did Ragna's Bloodedge not make the list because it's a scythe as well? Also gotta shout out Nero's Red Queen since it's a goddamn motorcycle sword. Of course Cavalier is more of a motorcycle cycle sword than Red Queen is, but it's also more of a buzz saw than a sword imo.

My honorable mention: the Outrage Mk.2 from the Guilty Gear series. You know it's a powerful weapon when even it's creator had to divide its first version into 8 parts. The 2nd version though....those who saw the story mode can contest to its power.
If I would’ve put in a Sword I’d go for the Insulator from Under Night since A it’s one of the most op sword and it was made by Vatista’s wing and B could basically destroy EXS(Existence) and can kill Immortal beings
It's either the Master Sword or whatever that sword was in Xenoblade Chronicles would be Number 1, then it probably wouldn't be considered much of a contest.
I'd have mentioned Sohothin, the sword wielded by Rytlock Brimstone in Guild Wars 2, as a good honorable mention, but you never really get a chance to acquire it as far as I can tell. Shame, too, because this is a sword rich with history, looks badass, and yes...it will KEAL. After all, Balthazar, God of War and one of the Six, the gods of humanity, gifted Ascalonian royalty with it and its sister sword, Magdaer, to protect the peace of the kingdom of man. Considering its tremendous power and rumored ability to reverse the curse of the Foefire, a curse that would give rise to the Ghosts of Ascalon over and over with every defeat like they're stuck in a time loop, and the fact its hilt is the head of a dragon with the blade being pure flame, I wouldn't doubt the magical relic was crafted with the intention of slaying the Elder Dragons, whose very existence is both a curse and a blessing to the world of Tyria. Just another weekend in RPG-land: get sword, kill god...sounds about right. X3
The #1 pick you chose? I don't feel it. I felt crushed the Master Sword was just #2. And not to mention you failed to bring up that you could upgrade it twice in Link to the Past and Link Between Worlds.
All the mentions of Monster Hunter and not the great or longsword? The Greatsword is one of the most iconic weapons from the franchise, a giant sword so weighty it slows the weilder when unsheathed and take a second to wind up a swing. But ohhhh man the impact and damage.
Frostmourne from Warcraft The Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts Dein Nomos from Tales of Vesperia Dragon Sword from Ninja Gaiden HIgh Frequency Blade from Metal Gear Rising Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII Sakai Katana from Ghost of Tsushima Galland Sharl from Trails of Cold Steel Master Sword from Legend of Zelda Soul Calibur and Soul Edge
Giving guesses Clouds Fusion Sword Links Master Sword The Falchion from Fire Emblem Soul Edge of Soul Caliber The Keyblade of Kingdom Hearts If I could break the rules I would add Samurai Jacks sword.
You got to love the multiple meanings in that guy's catchphrase. Not only does keal sounds like kill but it also refers to keeling which is a process in blade smithing.
The Z-Saber is certainly an amazing sword. All of the combos you can perform with it are so fun so pull off and feel so smooth to execute.

"A tale of souls and swords, eternally retold" is chassis.
I would have thought the keyblade would be on the list
Akujiki from the PS2 Shinobi. A sword that powers up with each kill!
Wow, I'm early for once! Calling it now, we're gonna see some Z-Saber love.
EDIT: Called it, top three! Also nice to see the two Soul swords on here! (Siegfried my beloved
Dang, swordtember came way early this year
My honorable mention: the Outrage Mk.2 from the Guilty Gear series.
You know it's a powerful weapon when even it's creator had to divide its first version into 8 parts. The 2nd version though....those who saw the story mode can contest to its power.
My honorable mentions:
Diamond Sword (Minecraft)
Shovel Blade (Shovel Knight)
Have you seen the death battle mega man battle royal?
If I would’ve put in a Sword I’d go for the Insulator from Under Night since A it’s one of the most op sword and it was made by Vatista’s wing and B could basically destroy EXS(Existence) and can kill Immortal beings
Also yes I really loved Under Night
It's either the Master Sword or whatever that sword was in Xenoblade Chronicles would be Number 1, then it probably wouldn't be considered much of a contest.
What was the new prop that quarter guy was showing? I'd have trouble seeing so yeah
19:29 - September 13, 2022: Wish Granted
Before i watch the video:
1: The Monado
I knew it!
Probably a long shot, but I really wanna see the Zenith or Terra Blade make an appearance
I've played terraria, it's pretty fun.
Was that a mini zikan girade I saw in the beginning?
Yes.
Yes it was.
#9: also voiced by the Radio Demon himself: Edward Bosco
My predictions
Galaxia
Master Sword
Great Sword
Buster Sword
Aegislash
Z-Saber
Monado
Murasame
Any of the Keyblades
sad it's not the sword of Saber but at least you have the Sword of the King ^^
3:00 ...shit your right
I agree with most of the picks on this list. However... no mention of the Keyblade? Not even in the honorable mentions?
Ok I have to ask. Now that time has passed and Xenoblade 3 came out, would you consider lucky seven, at the very least, as an honorable mention?
Eet will K E A L
I appreciate the Kamen Rider references
26:40 CHAAAAANGE!! GETTEEEEER!! ONE!!
The Zenith from Terraria. Come on, a sword that is made by combining other swords? Can't beat it
My personal favorite swords is the Yamato from Devil May Cry
Frostmourne from Warcraft
The Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts
Dein Nomos from Tales of Vesperia
Dragon Sword from Ninja Gaiden
HIgh Frequency Blade from Metal Gear Rising
Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII
Sakai Katana from Ghost of Tsushima
Galland Sharl from Trails of Cold Steel
Master Sword from Legend of Zelda
Soul Calibur and Soul Edge
gotta love the kamen rider jokes
No mention of the Soul Reaver on a best swords list? I call bullshit
What about the Saber Swords from Kamen Rider Saber?
Those aren't from games.
Of course the Monado is Number 1. Why wouldn't it be?
19:03 corniest pun I've heard this year, and I watch ChuggaaConroy.
Speaking of Chuggaaconroy, I think he’d approve the Number 1 pick.
@@Krookodile_King he totally would.
Honorable mention: Zenith from Terraria
Wily sûre was a genius for creating à so great weapon, but it dont rival the godly galaxia.
...also, why would you consider to be the best swords in in cartoons, comics, movies, television, anime, & manga?
Giving guesses
Clouds Fusion Sword
Links Master Sword
The Falchion from Fire Emblem
Soul Edge of Soul Caliber
The Keyblade of Kingdom Hearts
If I could break the rules I would add Samurai Jacks sword.
The Z Saber is obviously gonna be here somewhere
