      Thought I'd share this with you both here, not wanting to hijack the main thread and what not... but also ironic of passenger's YT handle and my first name is Fox LOL 😆 BUT here's the "original" 911 GT3 RS's, 2 911 cup cars, a Viper and ZR1 vs SS 1LE Street legal Camaro in VERY Advanced Group at CoTA. Its required to have 30-40+ track days with Edge Addicts to be in VERY Advanced PLUS gobs of rwhp or low weight or both. I was told by track day owner, when I'd asked to be in VERY Advanced at CoTA, "Fox you've had 6 track sessions, you're doing great, and yes, at MSR Cresson I promoted to VERY Advanced THERE, but you're too heavy and too low on power to be past Advanced Group, this is as high as you'll get." After 3 sessions at CoTA... same owner, "Fox we've had too many complaints from Track Management, you're WAY too fast and passing 8-10 cars per lap, safely, but they say that's way too many?! Would you mind promoting up to VERY Advanced please?" Me, "I thought you said I couldn't?" Owner, "Well, I don't own the track, you're too fast, they told me I need you to bump up, stay in furthest left lane to go out..." after 2nd session, "Fox can you move to back of 1st lane please?" LOL 😆 #TrueStory BUT I've been roadracing motorcycles since 1992, just started autocrossing cars for a year and a half, then got gifted a track day at MSR Cresson, I later found out why? It was POURING rain LOL 😆 But congrats on 8k+ views in 4 days!!! Well done!!! So I pass two GT3 RSs and technically a cup car LOL he pitted though, and GoPro batteries hate Texas heat, so it died before showing me passing ZR1 albeit an automatic *gag ruclips.net/video/ArhvI5dCd3I/видео.htmlfeature=shared enjoy

      Well of course it’s not racing, it’s just an HPDE. Also, if you are lapping a 911 GT3 RS I’m guessing you aren’t selling the house if you wreck it. That is what track insurance is for.

      Thank you! So many people don’t believe me that it’s the factory exhaust until I tell them I have an external mic. I’ve been very hesitant to do aftermarket exhaust. Especially headers, because I feel it loses some of that deeper tone and turns a bit raspy at WOT.

    Could you use shorter gears? Car seems to spend a lot of time in the 3000-4000 range of 3rd gear

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  8 месяцев назад +1

      Always. But, the car is stock, and most new vehicles (even that fantastic Porsche) have very long 2/3/4 gears to pass noise regulations and emissions testing. Maybe one day in the future I could do a custom gear set and trans, but for now, it is what it is.

    Njce video. Looks so fun.
    1). Use 2nd gear.
    2) don't hammer down the throttle on every exit. If your car especially you are going to snap oversteer as you begin approaching the limit.
    Have fun!

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  8 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for the tips! I don’t use 2nd anymore. Only real opportunities are T5 and Canada corner. At T5, staying in 3rd prevents from losing time going from 5th down to 2nd, and back to 3rd for T6. At Canada Corner, 2nd unsettles the car a bit too much.

    I’ve tracked all three of my GT3s. One unfortunate thing with these cars is because of the cost and how hard it is to get one, you just can’t be that aggressive on the track. I remember the first time I spun mine. It scared the crap out of me. I drove my C7 vette like I stole it. My laps were faster because I got much closer to my limit than I’d dare do in my GT3
    But you can tell the gt3 is much faster .

      @@FollowMyLine17It's just early turn in. I have to force myself to stay on track edge a bit longer, I have an all wheel drive with turbos it helps my car rotate. Your car with the bigger V8 you should then be able to start leaning into the throttle before apex. Plus putting more steering input in when your car is going the slowest.

  • @tagtag-connected5263
    @tagtag-connected5263 Месяц назад +1

    The 911 was not even trying.. lol. The car cost so much and on top of that you pay over MSRP sometimes 70-150k. If you’ve tracked regularity you probably have come across such driver in a 992 RS and driver was slower than even a bmw 3 series. Seen this at least 2x. Worst is when they sign up for upper classes but can’t drive or scared to wreck. What is the purpose if you drive a track focused car like a Honda. See record lap of 2:14 at RA for 992 RS so this driver is not representative of the true pace of the car. There is pace but you’ve got to have the nards to extract it. Long straight the RS should be punching 160mph. The driver here was barely cracking 150mph. It’s a shame really since the 991 RS was not like this. RS was slowing you down big time especially uphill before the front straight.

      Not a single person will argue what you said, including me. Haha. The driver/car were also at Mid-Ohio later that year and we were in the same run group again. We talked quite a bit. He got much more comfortable with the car since this video.
