    Looking good. My wife does crafts and wood working, so I have tried a lot of her sanding sealers. Personally I use Dope based but understand most people now use safer products. Of course, I do experiment with her sanding sealers and the best I have used to date is Pinepro Sanding sealer used for Pine Derby Cars. This stuff works great, sands easy in one hour. The worst products I have experimented with is Minwax.

    Nice work. My kit was terribly manufactured, the rings had an ID that was so small that they would not slide over the tube, at all. I literally needed to use glue to lube its path. That said, hopefully they will do a better job making these, as it's very discouraging for kids to struggle with terrible manufacturing

    What are your thoughts on cutting out the center of the parachute? Thanks

      @@Darryl603 it would descend a little faster, but could increase the chances of cracking a fin.

    What is the purpose of using the sanding sealer and what is the name of the other glue u are using not the Elmer's white one?

    • @REAR_rockets
      @REAR_rockets  Год назад +2

      The sanding sealer fills in the wood grain, giving a smoother surface with less drag (and a tiny bit of extra strength). For wood glue, I use Tightbond II or Loctite Express. They are almost identical in performance.

    Question! When putting the parachute into the rocket when finished huilding do i need to wrap the strings around anything or pack anything into the base of the rocket before inserting the chute ?

    • @REAR_rockets
      @REAR_rockets  9 месяцев назад

      It shows how to fold the parachute in the instructions.

    Question about the swivels ... is there a certain kind to use like ... how do you determine how much force in lbs you need it to be able to take???

    • @REAR_rockets
      @REAR_rockets  2 года назад

      For small model rockets, it doesn’t really matter as long as the snap part goes on the nose cone eyelet easily.

    Where did you get the little pin looking things you inserted into the fins?

    • @REAR_rockets
      @REAR_rockets  Год назад

      They are just long thin straight pins.

    You don’t do a very good job on explaining a lot of things. Like, what is “sanding sealer” and why are you using it? What is “AFT” and why are you writing it on the engine mount? You said numerous times in this video “just like we did in the previous video” as if everyone watching this watch all your videos when there’s a good chance they haven’t. Just some food for thought.

      @@AllAroundTube50 Relax, big guy! You probably got all grouchy about my comment more than the person I was talking to did! I wasn’t being a dick. I was pointing a few things out giving him food for thought for future videos.

      @AllAroundTube50 Год назад +1

      @@TheCureThatKillz - yeh nah I doubt it. Your comment just sounded like it came from someone that doesn't appreciate much, and could probably use a dictionary ('AFT' is a common word to describe the stern of a ship or tail of an aircraft). This was my first rocket build ever, with my 4-year old son - we nailed it, thanks to his video.
