  • Is being in an interracial or multicultural relationship difficult? Cedric and Becky talk about the good things (and the hard things) that can come from being in a serious relationship with someone who is racially or culturally different from yourself, and discuss what they feel are important things to consider - coming from their own experiences as mixed Korean kids, plus now being in an interracial relationship, themselves.

Communication is the foundation for all stable, long-term relationships. Without a mutually shared language, it's difficult, if not impossible, to move beyond surface-level small talk.

I love this I am half Peruvian (huge percentage indigenous Incan) and Half white ( German English Finnish) parents divorced before I was 2 which added an interesting dynamic. Being bicultural has been amazing and provided so many blessings but has also come with its challenges. I just found your channel today and this is the third video I have listened to, love this. Thank you to both of you for doing this, and providing this platform and starting a conversation.

I appreciate this video. I am in a relationship with a Chinese woman and I am white myself, so I am trying to consider the life of our kids since that is something that we want to have eventually. I understand that there is a lot to consider in having multi-racial kids, and that there is a likely chance that they will grow up with some semblance of identity struggles as they grow older. Being in a interracial relationship does have its challenges, and though I cannot claim great wisdom, I know that with all things in life there will always be struggles. I have to say however that I would not trade those challenges for anything as I am deeply in love with her and vice versa, so we aren't going anywhere even if there are some personal opinions from both of our parents and family members. I'm trying my best here and I do care about how my kids will turn out and how we continue to turn out. Some of these suggestions that ya'll presented about thinking and brainstorming how we want to raise them got me thinking about how to go about that, so thanks to you both for those suggestions.
