With a car that small, you can almost have a real race around Monaco!
And Miami, and Vegas.
Key word “almost” haha. It’s still difficult. I wish we lived in an alternate reality where the Monaco streets were twice as wide, but we don’t. I’d love to see a race where that was the case though 🤷♂️
Almost. It's still kinda big compared to a 60s F1 car and still has a lot of dirty air.
@@tylerjennings8242 or an alternate reality where F1 cars were still half the size they are now.
@@samagon00 Indeed. That’s also an option.
damn it looks so small compared to the current car 😮
Current cars are just too big
@@piotrpatalas2602 but the 2026 the new regulations even smaller than this year and 2025
The current cars are the same length as an extended wheel base van. It’s crazy how big they’ve got. I really hope the 2026 regs are successful is shrinking them down as much as possible.
@@DavidDewis i hope so because this is going to be the most hard one
I thought it was a r/c car at first 😮
Would love F1 cars to be that small again!
Pretty much impossible to fit all the current safety features into a package that small. But i do hope they will make them a bit smaller than the current cars. Now they can barely go 2 wide at some tracks...
@@SecondSincethe plan is to reduce the cars in 2026…but not as small as this, like you correctly said because of all the modern safety features/crash structures etc etc
@@SecondSince thats bullshit. the size is due to aero not safety
@@R9naldoIt's safety man
And with V10s!
we need the longer version of this video and hopefully Max got to drive it
I like how the editor choose to blur and cut every opportunity for us to compare both cars.
Except for the thumbnail.
the RB1 makes RB20 look like a truck
Funny enough, current F1 cars are longer than the current Chevy Suburban! 🤣
no... it doesn't "look like".... it is a "truck" indeed...
Actual F1's are 1m longer than a large sedan....
The RB20 is actuslly 9" longer than an F150 pickup
It is
I agree! When I first looked at that I wasn't sure that what I was looking at was real. It's amazing. Kind of like the first time a saw a pic of a Porsche 911 next to a 919.
Unfortunately, due to the extremely flashy editing, it's very hard to get a good look at the car, or size comparison of the car vs the modern car.
Yea, the Pokémon Seizure screen cuts are a horror.
The size difference is mind-blowing.
To be frank, I'll like it if the cars become small again. It will make it easier to overtake on circuits like Circuit de Monaco
No sorry, they couldn't pass back then either.
one issue is they need the space to both keep the cars slower but also make them safer. Current cars are vastly safer than even 10 years ago. By far the biggest issues with the current gen cars is how complex and heavy the engine is. These super complicated hybrids were a terrible idea. the larger wings, larger rims more organic shapes certainly looks much better.
2026 cars are rumored to be smaller but not by much, maybe 10%. It's difficult to go that small again since the safety regulations require certain dimensions.
@@RainCity3rdThat's hybrids for you. It's way better to just stick with one power source, such as ICE OR EV, but trying to combine them both just adds more complexity to the whole package.
@@TheKnightsShield the engineering is amazing though with the previous, both a turbo and heat recovery system the engines are massively efficient which super cool and all from a geek out engineering perspective but not great from a racing one. We've had absolute massive leaps forward with aero understanding yet we are far off the pace, while on purpose, it's not great. I gather this was all due to pressure post 2008 by the engine manufacturers to be in more of an area where they were going with road cars. But really as we go more hybrid and full ev and in road cars we don't need that in the pinnacle of motor sport. We have formula e, that's great. F1 should go back to a more simple ice engine. 30 years from now maybe we have far less interest from the major manufacturers, less money in the sport even and that would be ok.
Man red bull .. you forget the other 68 minutes of this documentary...
Too many cuts in the video, one can hardly get a chance to see the cars moving.
“VT6 V4 FINAL” what an innovative title.
This generation of F1 car are the size of Chevy Suburban.. like the length and the width are legitimately really close
For comparison for the RB1 being obviously smaller, the RB1 was just a touch over 600 kilos, the RB19 (last years car) is 798 kilos. All that extra size comes with some serious bulk
the halo alone is a lot of the bulk, the fire extuingishers are a lot too. Still I am happy the new cars have them Max probably wouldn't have stood there without them.
If it weren’t for all the carbon fiber, the new car would weigh even more.
@@The_oli4who needs safety, amirite?
@@The_oli4 compared to the batteries necessary for the hybrid system things like the halo are near irrelevant in weight
As someone who grew up watching f1 in 2002,these cars are a big part of my childhood. It’s sometimes so so wild when we see a 2000 era f1 car placed alongside the current era or any time of period. Just shows how much these cars have evolved over the years. The RB1 along with many of the cars from the 2 years of the V10 era still look gorgeous to this day.
V10 was in use from 1996 to 2005. In case you were talking about Red Bull only, the RB1 is the only V10 powered car.
my favorite, VT6 V4 FINAL
Why?
Video Editor here, Don't tihnk it was meant to be there xD
@@vedantbodasit kinda makes it feel like some secret lost footage
@@lucasdevries5131Red bull racing lost episode creepypasta
my favorite after "Warp stabilizer and speed can't be used on the same clip"
The editor forgot to remove the text from the beginning of the video or the youtube account manager upload the approval demo?
I think it was deliberate, as a throwback to when things weren't as professional yet.
Lmao the demo 😂😂😂 you bellend
all part of the flashy, cool, "hip" editing
One has a V10... the other does not. You know the one I prefer! It's not about what's faster it's the one that makes my heart race that is the best.
Magnifique ❤
Great job RB team and these crazily smart Dutch drone maker ! 👏 hats off !
From RB1 up till RB20, all under the fantastic leadership of Christian Horner 💪
Can't wait to see how bad or well this comment ages
He has done well as a team principal but your comment is not one I would have made right now
The fantastic gropesmanship of Christian Horner.
@@bikeindustryshill Why, because some disgruntled ex-employee figured they'd try to pull a fast one?
@@nonegone7170 Nope, because it just wasn’t concluded. You think you are smart because the outcome was announced 18 hours ago? Jog on.
Sounds better than modern F1
amen to that
🏁GO MAX! 🏁
Older F1 might be slower but it's far more enjoyable and exciting to watch than modern F1 cars.
I wish they would just put high quality binaural Microphones beside a track and just drive full throttle with the old good sounding cars.
This needed to be a longer video, but too bad for the rainy day
0:33 You vs. the guy she told you not to worry about
Whenever a new car is next to an old one, it really illustrates how F1 cars are way too big now.
Not just the size...but THAT SOUND
A+ to the editor. I've never seen anyone achieve a near perfect denial of the only thing fans wanted.
The old car looks like a toy car next to the new one haha
Exactly what I was thinking! Like a half scale version or something….
It looks like an F1 car rather than an SUV.
0:32 did the old car start pulling on the new one right before the cut?
"Look at that, it's so tiny"
Christian Horner starts panicking thinking more what's app messages have been leaked
The 2003-2007 F1 cars looked so beautiful
F1 car and a tank.
THAT size difference!
No wonder they are heavy as hell nowadays. I knew they were bigger now but didn't think the difference would look like this.
Would love to see a detail comparison of all RB version from RB1 to RB20
The cars should be more like the RB1. V10, simple; FAST!
Well, not so fast it seems. RB20 would lap RB1 at least once on the Bahrein circuit. I think all cars in F1 now are faster than RB1. It’s just evolution man.
@@PatNetherlander Update the V10s with modern technology (materials, CAD etc) and you will see true speed.
@@engared Not really possible, the modern tech in the current f1 cars take up a lot of space, the aero is completely different and the current reliability and safety standards are much higher. For example the 3.0L V10 is massive compared to the 1.6L V6 in the current PU. What takes up most of the space is the turbo and hybrid components. Also the V10's were extremely high strung and would barely last a race weekend, the current crop of cars have PU's that could potentially last an entire race season. Look at the difference in the rev range of V10 era, shifting gears at 19,000 rpm can wear out any engine component, also those engines were thirsty, but the current PU's are extremely efficient.
@@PatNetherlanderthey aren't LOl
Older F1 cars were much much faster in straight line and faster in laps as well .
F2004 still holds fastest Bahrain race lap anyways
Williams FW26 held fastest lap on Monza it's faster than any 2024 car
That's on grooved tires
Always watching from Georgetown Guyana south America 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾
Kinda feels like this wasn't the final version
2 videos 1 day? Crazy gory
David Coulthard is a top bloke.
we need the drone to record this
Christian Horner❤
Gg lads 👏🏻
even if it is repeated a lot the new redbull livery looks just as good as the first ever red bull
Would love to,see a few laps, maybe 20 or so, from rb1 to 20 on the track at the same time
If only you knew you were in the good ol days while they were happening. I miss the V10 scream, overtaking in Monaco, low fuel strategies, and the cars looking so nimble and on-edge when quickly changing direction.
Newer F1 fans need to see this. I ain't watching till those visceral, light, awesome-sounding cars come back with synthetic, guilt-free fuels. And every F1 fan should do the same.
In 2006 Red Bull Racing earned a 3rd position at Monaco GP! Magic Coulthard!
man, these compact cars are nice!
If it was dry, I’d love to see DC vs MV in a sprint around the circuit
I wish there was a way to use the Tcams that are on top so the teams using old cars can get some proper footage.
No gopro hate, just wanting the original tech being used again.
Oh wow 👌 that takes us all back ❤ And Max was only 8 😲 Come on RBR 👏 👏
Those 1/5 scale models are getting more and more realistic.
It’s so weird seeing DC in race gear after how long he’s been a commentator. Pretty cool to see.
Where’s the rest of this video?
RB1 looks like the little brother
Time flies!
Okay okay but which one sounds better? Rb1 all day!
Champions 2024🏎️💨
DC such a great guy
We need longer video's
ruclips.net/video/eBBoGAHCJ-8/видео.html this one is longer
This video illustrates how insanely large F1 cars have become.
EXCITED
When past meet the future. Go Team Red Bull Oracle
Damm, everything was so much better 20 years ago. Man i got old!
Redbull should honestly do a race with all their cars. Rb 1 to rb20 just to see how much different they are
The size of the RB1 just shows how large cars like the RB20 have gotten
0:37 the RB1 looks like a R/C car, it's so tiny compared to the huge F1 cars these days.
Crazy how in just 5 years, RedBull was able to make a dominant car! Only took them 8 years the second time!
That is nice RC vehicle right there, 1:2 scale? :D
Look at the size difference that's when you really appreciate how much it's changed
I was hoping to see Max actually pushing 2005 car and saying his opinion on it.
I would like to see the Redbull family have a fun race were the car drivers get swapped. I think it would be great to see Dan Ric and Yuki on Max and Checo's car. They can also have Seb and Liam in the mix as well. Please make it happen Redbull, do it for charity.
So cool!
Small, nible and crazy fast. That's what F1 was about
I would bet some serious money that the RB1 would be up against the RB20
What, no head to head race to see which one is faster around Silverstone? DC vs MV at RB...
Had not realized how much the cars have increased in size given the incremental nature of the increases....but wow, seeing them side by side is insane. Totally understand the safety aspect but it would be so good to get them back down in size again as the cars have outgrown some of the circuits these days.
In part because of safety advancement, in part due to power unit, in part due to team's desire to make cars as stable as possible by increasing the length of the wheelbase. 2026 will shorten things out a little bit.
@@mArvAlcao71 You can see how stable the current cars are, its not great for those of us who like to see the snappy hard to drive nature of the older vehicles. The current cars do indeed out perform, but they are not even slightly close to the same animal.
@@zoltrix7779 we want the snappy cars, the drivers, team want otherwise. That's the nature of the development of basically every vehicle, to make it more stable so the drivers can push harder and harder
Same edits as in he 00's. Also can RB do their videos somewhere drier? Would love to see more than water spay. Same with the drone video.
F1 was sooooo much better back then
Smaller car, bigger engine, no halo stuff. Beautiful.
Small cars must make a come back. Current size of cars is just gross.
This explains why street circuit races have become so unbearable.
Las Vegas Km/h400 Red Bull Racing👍🏻
Rb1 saiu na frente
The size difference is staggering. The next big rule change should be to use modern technology to downsize without compromising safety. 20 years later and the answer doesn’t have to be “bigger”.
DC you’re an old man!!❤
we need to back to that size of car.
Imagine if they returned to the 2005 specs for 2025. Monaco would make sense again.
O problema é que as pistas não crescem oque dificulta as ultrapassagens sendo mais perigoso 🤔
I ❤ red bull
They seriously need to make the cars smaller for the circuit tracks for better passing and more fun
Please make them small again!
BRING BACK REFUELLING!
MAKE THE CARS LIGHTER (smaller fuel tank & narrower) AGAIN !
They need to ditch the (heavy) hybrid nonsense, go 100% e-fuel with ICE only..
"Mom can we have a RB scale model at home?"
Mom: "we already have a RB scale model at home"
The RB scale model at home:
Amazing how technology to manage the aerodynamics and the drive to control airflow for downforce and traction have resulted in larger vehicles. Smaller vehicles may not be the answer, just look at Formula E with their propensity for running into the nearest object or vehicle. 🤪
Red Bull should have recreated the RB1’s livery for the 2024 season.
Smaller car is always the better car
Put David in the RB20 and Max in the RB1 see who wins😂
Should bring out the V10 for more media events instead of the RB7
I don't think they will due to cost. I mean, the V8 are simpler, cheaper to mantain for the shows, and teams can detune the engine so it can sound like the V6 a little bit
thats why there are less two fights during the race
I wish they went back to that size
