Yes! Love that you guys did a test like this!
Help people be realistic about what to expect when you put agresivamente looking tires. But most importantly you help people be HONEST about their experience! A lot of guys straight lie to themselves about their tires, because they don’t want to admit they regret their purchase 😂

I really wanted the Yoko to do better, I think the weight of the LT tires made a difference on this Tacoma. If this test would have been on a half ton pickup or larger there would have been less impact from the LT tires. Thank you guys for putting in the time, effort and energy in conducting this.

Thanks for putting this together, Tire Rack. I recently purchased Falcon AT4W 265/70R18 P rated for a 2010 Tunda WITHOUT a 5.7L. I was comparing the weight of tires and these were 46lbs a tire. I didn't want to add the extra weight of an LT tire even though I wanted the new KO3. I hate the loss of acceleration, when running bigger heavier tires especially on an older truck with lower torque and power. I love the day to day performance of a motor not held back by big rubber. I'm surprised no one makes a tire with a super good looking sidewall and great backroad performance. Call it the Backroad not Backdoor.

The Duratracs were my tire of choice for rock crawling and off roading back in 2010-2015. Not surprised to see it do poorly on road vs the others. It had so much traction and took almost no damage such as chunks breaking off the tread.

Was there a standardized cold pressure run in each tire? I'd be curious to know if the LT tires would feel or perform any better in your tests after chalking them. I know that my F150 will rattle my fillings out at 50 psi with 10 ply tires. After chalking them, I knew I could drop the pressure down to 35 psi and still have a good tire wear/MPG's. I also air down to 20 psi when I'm on national forest service roads and my pickup floats like a cloud over the potholes and washboard sections. I'd love to see a video about setting pressures for the conditions and weight of vehicle. Chalking tires might be totally outdated......but it worked for my dad, and it still seems to work well for me.

For winter conditions these tyres are unsafe.
To achieve the necessary grip, to drive safe it is mandatory to use the winter tyres.
Btw, the 3PMS symbol means the tyres are over a minimum standard (from the last century) that half of the nowadays tyres already exceed.

So Iam really interested to know why you chose the Yokohama A/T4 for this test ? The Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 is the tire that is made for 70% on road use . It consistently places higher in Dry braking , Wet braking , One of the most quietus tires on road , if not thee most quiet tire . Ranks great for lane and direction changes . Always places in the top 2 out of 10 tires across the board . You guys rank it high , so why not use it in this test ?

Most modern ATs that are snow rated are better than true snow tires in deeper snow and thick slush. Different story on snow that's been packed and icy, or just an inch or two of fresh snow. How wet that snow is is a factor too

I sold my f150 and downgraded to Maverick. Been riding on LT rated KO2s for the past 10 years. They are nice but would be overkill for a Maverick. Got some great sales from Walmart on a set of Cooper All Terrain (some said it's AT3 some said it's Road+Trail's predecessor, anyway it seems to be Walmart only). They surprised me on how good they are on road. And it can do light off-road better than my stock Conti tires. I only use it to haul my ATV, so I don't really need the truck to handle severe off-road
