I used to think it was bad metal work, but realize this patches were put on this cars with minimal back yard tools, over 25 to 30 yrs so started seeing their work ,as amazing for what they had to work with
The thing that always impresses me was also when you think about filler wasn't around and in use when these cars were new. A lot of lead and torches to apply it.
Hey if you have a chance could you please explain why you prefer the allmetal filler vs fiber filler like Kitty Hair or Fiber tech over weld seams? Thank you. Ha they all cost an arm and a leg....
ever try out spoons to fix a dent and a heat disc u can do it with out cutting and no need for bondo. the guy that teached me how to fix dent took a smashed fender and pulled it all out till it was perfect again with no bondo
Yes that is a good method and I do demonstrate some of the heat shrinking dicc in some of my other videos. With these fenders they were so bent up and unable to get behind I figured cutting straightening and welding to me was the fastest route to go.
I learn something from every video! Great stuff Do you weld sheet patches to cover roof rails? Put lead back in roof rails? Is it ok to use All Metal for the roof rails in place of lead?
Thank you very much, Check out the how to apply lead, i went through what i did for this car and yes in the video I also say how most of the time I will just use all metal.
I know this is an old video, but thought I'd comment. For the hood pull, have you considered using the paintless dent removal stuff with the hot glue pulls? I would think it would leave the surface exactly as it was and with less heat.
You are correct there is a few ways to do it. Honestly I haven't invested in the dent glue removal systems but will do some more research in the future as I am always trying to make the process better. Thanks for the advice and checking out the video.
I have a 1973 dodge challenger that has been setting for about forty years. I want to redo the entire car, chassis everything like yo did the other challenger
Thank you and yes they are a clients vehicle. I am just starting out putting more of my work out there so I will be making an Instagram soon, will keep you posted when I make one.
I’m liking your content but you gotta change the frame rate or something. All the videos look kinda “notchy”. I don’t know if it’s the recording or the way you’re uploading
the fender should have been brushed outside now the shop has a quarter inch of toxic bondo dust all over the floors and tools, what about an English wheel to flatten the panel you cut, wont it get straighter then hammer pounding it flat
Glad you rescued the fenders. Extra work is rewarding.
Thanks and yes it is
