This somehow deleted my message but I try to write it short again.
So, nothing that works for healthy brain dont work for for TBI ppl. As far as I knowliving over 30 years with TBI, haveing sllept normally over 30 years ago. Good sleep hygine works for healthy ppl but when your circadian rhtyhm is destroyed, white matter tracks are destroyed, sleeps systems are destroyed and your neurotransmitter are totally Fxxd up, good sleep hygiene has zero effect. Tried everything, still I try to sleep being completely awake 8-10 hour a night,, neing in pain, listening terrible lousd tinnitus and shouting to God in the middle of the night to kill me. Melatonin, she is really talking about melatonin, thats an insult to me. Luckily I have found neurologist that tell to forget melatonin it not gonna put you in sleep, they are for non-TBI persons. It seems that there is very little research made for TBI patients and neurologist use information got from research made to healthy ppl. I actually tried to get into new sleep med study just to be denied since TBI, well I guess I should have never told I have TBI. Please please, dont give TBI patients advices that are made for healthy people, I think Im notthe only one who gets frustrated and basically insulted because TBI brain is like a computer from 50s compared to healthy brain. They are from two differnt world and dont work alike.
Also telling not to use phone or tv in bedroom. I can tell that listening like someone is playing trumpet next to your bed (tinitus) TV or whatever tht covers ab it the tinnitus is a blessing. Also getting blue ligh etc from phones etc.. they have no effect when your brain just cant sleep, they are all for healthy brain those set of advices. yes I use blue light filter and my tv goes more and more red as night goes on imitating the sunset but Cmon, most of advices I have got in these over 30 years kind of make me puke.. dont you really have anting better to say.
    Sorry my rant =)

Thank you! I have not heard about about lack of insight. That was huge for me, first 2 years. Now I'm struggling with the realities.

My view has become, "these are the tools and this is the place i'm at today, so I have to make this good and make this work; but if anything can be improved, I will aim for that."

Thank you Cristabelle for providing this interview. You are a wonderful interviewer and asked many amazing questions.
Night after night I only get 2 to 3 hours of sleep. Tonight I decided to get up and here I am watching this video. My goodness Natalie provides so many things to consider changing. I never experience fatigue, smell, taste, hunger, heat, cold or any senses including pain. Time management/pacing myself is one of my biggest challenges. I will implement some of Natalie's techniques.

Thanks for this. I also think diet is good. Like no sugar. I went on a no sugar diet last fall and it helps a lot.
I still have some fatigue but I am able to do more.

That is a great suggestion. Nutrition is so important to our brain health and key to our recovery. An anti-inflammatory diet helps, and definitely, eliminating sugar is huge! Thank you for sharing your experience, and thank you for being here!
