That man is now experiencing PTSD. Six years ago I went to visit my Mother who I found passed away in the bathtub with the water running, and her beautiful home a disaster. I had nightmares for years afterwards. Just when I thought I was getting things together, I'd have another nightmare, which would set me back stuck in grief and despair for days. I wish for him Peace and Strength.

So true. I suffered the loss of two family members eight years ago and I have still not recovered and doubt I ever could. The loss and pain was almost unbearable for the first 5 years and has become somewhat bearable now, but it's like a bandaid on my heart and still very vulnerable and raw. I can relate so much to what these people are going through.

Thank you, I'm OK now. I've had so many close calls with death. Three major car accidents, getting electrocuted twice, and so many other incidences, I'm sure I already had PTSD. I'm wondering if that makes a person more vulnerable to it again.

If I ever lost my babies, death would be so inviting to me. I couldn't imagine a single day without them nor would I choose a day without them. It's hard to fathom the amount of utter despair the parents are feeling. I hate just sitting here sending thoughts and prayers but what else can we do but support these people from a loving distance? ❤ 🙏

I just want to hug this man. Not sure if I heard wrong but was it two separate families that are brought up? One mother brought 3 of her (deceased) children to his house. And then separately 6 children and the mother of 11 family members, died? Either way, it's traumatic for all involved. As someone that has had their home go through multiple hurricanes, in different states, I feel for these people. They're in such shock, you want to break down but you're so lost, your entire community is so lost, you don't know where to begin. I remember knowing I needed help, mentally, emotionally, but when I sought it from counseling, I ended up being the counselor. Nothing like having a psychologist open up to you and crying on your shoulder as they felt so lost. We were (still are) both moms and just connected on that level, as you can't break down in front of your children. When your whole community is distraught and lost from losing their homes, that's when you learn how strong everyone is and the sense of community. I hope the surrounding communities, uneffected, as well as the rest of the US can lift these people up and provide everything they need to get back on their feet as they work themselves towards the light in the darkness.
