Hello! We are Holly and Stephane 🇺🇸🇫🇷
We have made the transition from full-time software professionals from the SF Bay Area to liveaboard sailing explorers who always keep one eye on the weather and our hearts in a song. Our goal is to complete a circumnavigation and we recently transitioned to a performance catamaran and are madly in love with our Outremer 52. We are working with Outremer in France (with the help of Google translate) to launch our boat project and start our journey as sailing vagabonds. While it’s not a race or speedtest, we are doing our first Bluewater crossing this year and we are excited to see AWEN stretch her legs and dance on the water. Join us as we share what we’re learning living without Amazon, (but with Starlink), and attempt this new life of travel and adventure on the ocean. Please be patient with us as we continue to improve our RUclips vlogging skills. Our goal isn’t to make our life a movie, it’s to give back to what others have shared with us, which is why we don’t monetize our channel.

Taking on a Captain sounds like a damn good idea! Saves unnecessary bad times... frustrations on passage are never good. Look at all the knowledge you getting... got to admit, kind of jealous. :-)) Holly worked on the speech and she didn't give me any warning on the type of English being used. Luckily 'Victor' in the video rescued me.
We'll try to share some of the knowledge gained during those passages.

You have already shared knowledge. I would also tie a tight bowline at the clew for the same reasoning. As soon as you explained why the big loop, it made instant sense. Why fight wet line, it burns. Thanks again! Fair winds...
Did you watch The Wynns take a test sail on the HH44 sistership hull no 1? The sailmakers and the builders pushed the boat to see what she could do? One hull out of the water!!!! Cat Great Circle did too once, when the Captain was AWOL.
Yes, we've been following the The Wynns for years. Excited for them that they will soon get their new boat.
The Outremer 52 has been pushed quite a bit in the Med. It's reassuring to hear some professional sailors being amazed on how this boat sails in all kind of conditions. We like to know you can go really fast in strong winds and there is still a safety margin.
The wisdom of Cat Great Circle is that SHEs the Captain. She learned how to be in charge, and she trusts her skills.

Another great job. It would be so easy to get caught up the excitement of finally taking full control of the boat and just wanting to take off. You guys took the time to follow some sage advice. This passage is a serious step in boat travel. Good for you guys for taking all the precautions to ensure you learn the most about your new boat in the safest manner.
