It's hilarious how off the mark we were for all these years, Lucifer was nothing like we thought he'd be LMAO. But I still like the old fan songs, it's a neat time capsule for how the story was shaping up before the show. Thanks for the playlist!! I think Fiery Pits & Giggles is super underrated honestly.
I think it’s super interesting that, true, literally no one expected the Lucifer we got, but quite a few of us ended up not being completely _wrong._ SIWEL’s first two Lucifer songs (“Welcome to Hell” and “Don’t Take Shit From Other Demons”) have probably aged best in this regard - he clearly loves his daughter *dearly,* but really wants her to drop her project as he sees no point in trying; after all, Sinners are the worst and Heaven isn’t all it’s cracked up to be either. Both ideas he ended up actually having in the show, just with less depression. Hell, one of my favorite lines of dialogue _I’ve_ written for Lucifer (in a story I haven’t updated since 2020 😅) is “You’re already in Hell. There is literally nothing you can do that would ever lower my opinion of you.” (spoken to Alastor; yes, I unintentionally predicted him hating Al, too, just not at all for the same reason as in the show 😆). It’s like we were all stumbling around in the dark trying to figure out what something was and got bits and pieces of it correct but kept missing what turned out to be a major part of the thing. I love our Silly Depressed Short King, probably way more than any previous fan versions of Apple Daddy, but I still have so much fondness for the various old Lucifers. That’s the thing about hugely popular media that goes on extended hiatuses: the previous fan interpretations have basically become their own thing, a very established AU. And AUs are things to enjoy _alongside_ canon. This fandom definitely has its moments of greatness and I love that 😁

It makes me really want to see something with the au version of Lucifer that the fandom came up with! Also that story seems interesting :0
Love how everyone expected Lucifer to be a complete asshole and love his wife dearly, but in the show hes a lonely, divorced, depressed father who has a massive obsession with ruber ducks 😭
Change the order was the only song I liked the last one doesn’t make sense now cause the 5th episode the 3rd to last I just skipped cause heard it before and didn’t like it the others were a little above mid
