This video is a tribute to one of the most celebrated and talented director's in Tamil cinema, A.C.T also known as A. C. Tirulokchandar. He attained critical acclaim for his sense of aesthetics and grandeur along with a strong story in all his films fro the 1960s to the late 1980s. He also directed a few films in Hindi and Telugu. His 1969 Tamil film Deiva Magan was the first South Indian film to be submitted by India for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Deiva Magan is not original story it’s a remake of hit Hindi classical film Meri Soorat Teri Aankhen slightly tinkered all three roles in Hindi were done by different actors. Triple role in Tamizh. My favourite Sivaji film loved him as a pampered young son stole the hearts of all teenagers and youngsters. It was dubbed in Telugu too hit. Athey Kangal was a superb entertainer ahead of its time. Producer Balaji s favourite director Most of his films were remakes. The first postgraduate director of Indian films.

MGR opposed nomination of this film for Oscar awards and successfully stopped with the help of one Soundara Kailassm.
AVM never produced film with MGR except Anbe Va, because of his Interferences and call sheet problems. The same is also with Gemini films who produced Oli vilakku only.
