I think there was a technical problem and the playback was cut off so she was forced to sing it live... and yet nailed it!!! She was like "DAMN, I STILL GOT IT!" 😂 I love her so much...
It is definitely a risky note, indeed but she did it well. You are 100% correct on the technical problem. Mariah deliberately cut off the playback in response to her technical team. Please allow me to explain. A lot of people in the comments do think the last note is lipped but it is not. My observation and theory: she had intended to do the whistle note (at 2:37) live and lip the ending climax - totally fine and understandable in a concert environment. The whistle note was playback - it is this performance. You can see her turn away from the audience and her hand gestures indicate that she is dissatisfied and is essentially throwing the note away. She was definitely pissed at the sound team on that one. She finished the song and decided to make it up to her audience by completing the ending live. The expression on her face at the end appears to be somewhat angry, partly because she is and partly because of the amount of energy one has to put in to execute that note for that length of time. I study body language, movement, & behavior - not professionally but for fun because it interests me. Definitely have a rewatch a let me know what you think. I've watched this video a number of times over to have come to my conclusion. Peace!

This is possibily one of her best live for this song. Her vocal condition was superb in OZ. I went to both concerts in Gold Coast and Melbourne, Love the fact that she sung different songs!! Obssessed vs It's like that, and FLy like a bird vs Don't forget about us! I loved them all!!
She always tries to keep her voice in the best shape possible during concerts because she never wants to disappoint the fans, so she stays away from alcohol and gives her voice plenty of rest (she apparently likes to spend a whole day not talking and just resting in a very humid room in order to preserve or replenish her voice). That's why her concert performances are so much better than her TV performances.
