    I hope to have a few of these built soon, I will let you guys know how it goes. If there is enough interest I will make another larger batch.

    Cunning Turtle's Wiki is no longer valid, but I saved everything from it years ago. I have built 2 of these from scratch but I cannot get them to work. I know they are built correctly, so I'm guessing it's something to do with the firmware. If any of you are willing to revive this project I will supply you with all the info that I have including the BOM and firmware from the creator. I have 8 PCB's left that have not been put together yet along with everything needed to assemble them and even order more if we can ever get one of these to work. I just need some that that is really good with electronics and fully understands how to make this work. Apparently it's over my head.

    Interesting... Would be nice perhaps if the there was some remote way to make the "servo" to "continous rotation" change... maybe a second channel input?
    Eitherway, I think this is rather brilliant!

    Hi, I have made two of this but none works. I have programmed ATTINY without any problem. I even soldered 4 leds to see the behavior of the exits but they are always on. Once in a while when I press the button the LEDs are flashing indicating action. However, they do not even change the cadence with the change in the frequency of the pwm, and when I remove the power, it no longer works again.What will be happening?

    Quick question, can you make this pcb kit run 1 amp per coil or 1.5 amp. Maybe swapping something to a beefier part? I was planning on using a 4988 texas instruments driver which i have a few but then i gotta have something drive the steps.

    I'd like to have a couple of these to build a stepper driven RC tank but as been noted before, they are no longer in stock. The bare PCB is still in stock yet I cannot find the partslist or diagram. I presume these are on the linked wiki which is offline.
    I have not been able to find a easy to use replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions?

      Still want a controller board?

  • @cunningturtles
    @cunningturtles  12 лет назад

    @AllenKll There is a way you can change modes without pushing the button. The button is tied to pwm input pin. When it is held down it pulls the pwm pin high. So... if instead of a real pwm signal you made the pin high for at least 3 seconds it would cause the RC stepper board to switch modes. Also, the chip saves the operating mode to EEPROM and restores it on power up. So if you left it in "continous rotation" and turned it off it will still be in "continous rotation" when you power it on.

    Out of business from the look of it! Damn it, this is exactly what I was looking for. If anyone finds another board doing the same thing please post a link up here, I've been searching all morning and drawing a blank (or too $$$!).
    CunningTurtle guys: if you ever get back in business please let us know, thx. Looked like a niche product...

      I just placed 2 orders for enough parts to build 10 of these. I'm sure they will go fast! Once I get the first one built and working I will make another post on here asking if anybody else in interested. (This is something I have been waiting for for a long time now, but the original poster apparently is no longer interested, so rather than just giving up I decided to take matters into my own hands. It's a little more complicated than I had expected, but I've got it all figured out now)

    • @kenniffss

      Hi Randy, put me down for two! Any idea how much they will cost?

    • @mochanic5498
      @mochanic5498 6 лет назад

      Not sure yet. Still working on getting them up and running. Once I do I will place a much bigger order for the PCB's and components which will drastically reduce the cost of each one.

      Did you end up getting this ready for sale Randy? I'm Interested in 2

    • @mochanic5498
      @mochanic5498 6 лет назад

      I have the PCB's and all the components. I built 2 so far. The problem is that no matter what I try I cannot get the motors to respond to the receivers output signal. There is clearly some missing information that the original poster is leaving out for whatever reason. When I get some time I will look more into the firmware and see if I can find somebody that knows a lot more than I do about the electronics.

    exactly what i need! can you change the maximum rpm of the stepper?

    • @cunningturtles
      @cunningturtles  10 лет назад +1

      You could change the max rpm by editing a config file in the firmware and burning the new firmware back on. We have a tutorial that shows how to do that.
      www.cunningturtle.com/wiki/index.php?title=Upload_firmware_to_the_Radio_Controlled_Stepper
      If you set the rpm too high the stepper will no longer spin. The default maximum is a 100rpm.

      oh really? so i can change the max rpm but it wont work then? =/ i need max rpm around 2500/3000! and one question... how expensive are the shipping costs to germany? thx :)

    • @mochanic5498
      @mochanic5498 7 лет назад

      I believe it has to do with the pwm signal and max number of steps. you should try using an arduino board for higher rpms
