Such great commitment to your glucose research!
Thank you. The research project began to simplify learn more so I could become more empathetic towards others with Diabetes. And three months later, yeah, I ended up learning more than I bargained for.
Thanks for making very important points that everyone should pay heed to. Diabetes is not something to treat lightly.
You are most welcome. I am bout to prick my finger for the 4th time in less than 18 hours, and I need to take more samples. I think another CGM may be right around the corner. And yes, Diabetes is much more serious than most think. I am glad my insurance paid for the annual health checkup, and glad I have insurance.
Hello. I've been hypoglycemic since my young '20s. I would crash between 5 to 7 days per week for pretty much my whole life. I'm 49 now. At the age of 44 I started fasting. I eat once every 23 hours. I only eat in that 1 hour window. Ever since then my crashes have stopped occurring. I run everyday. I enjoy my sports watches like you do. Really enjoy your channel. I wish you the best with your health.
Thank you for the kind, positive comment. A good 30 years of dieting and glucose graphs, yikes! My hat goes off to you and glad you were able to find a balance. I will give the fasting a try and journal about my experience. About to venture outside for a one-mile dog walk to lower my levels...
Hi Peter. My mom is type 2 diabetic (her brother also. He is now deceased). I was pre diabetic for a long time (A1c was 6.1-6.4). My A1c was 6.9 at one time so I went to an endocrinologist and he put me on Metformin which worked. I hope to get off it eventually. I check my blood sugar Tuesday mornings before breakfast and Thursday evenings at least two hours after eating. Unfortunately for me, I have a bad family history (hypertension, heart disease, diabetes…). In a way it’s a blessing because now I know what I have to work with. You’re doing great. Be well.
Wow, that is quite the comment, thank you, Paul. And sorry to hear about your uncle passing away. My goal is too keep watching my glucose levels and stay active. I unboxed a PIP kit and began the finger pricking last night after my Libre 3 CGM expired. I am going to go many days using those PIP strips and see how that method goes. I hope you are able to one day be NOT pre-diabeticn🤞🤞
@@PeterHerget Likewise, my friend. Just have to get out of old eating habits and lose weight.
Yeah, when someone once wrote, "old habits die hard..." Nope, they were not kidding around. It is difficult to have just one cookie or no cookie at all. I am enjoying SILK Almond milk more and more. I recently watched a friend of mine inject themselves with a shot of insulin. Yep, diet changes are easier today than they were a week ago.
@@PeterHerget Just read the ingredients of the almond milk. The ones I've seen aren't healthy at all.
It is less calories than my 1% milk, less sugar than my favorite 2% milk, and it tastes better than water ;)
