2:36:21 Yeah, you could take out Void, replace him with Choi, take out Decay, replace him with LIP, take out Profit, replace him with Rascal, take out Viol2t and get Alarm in. Still gonna dominate
As a proud member of the Bills Mafia, I approve the idea of Bren coming to Orchard Park to do his plan! If I find him though I will know exactly what he's talking about.
As a native Finnish speaker, I value Bren's valiant efforts at speaking Finnish, although I will not resist commenting that the accent made it sound more like Navajo than Finnish. Perhaps Bren has native american ancestry despite hailing from Gloucester? Perhaps there needs to be a special episode of Plat Chat where the casters' DNA results are disclosed? Is Johnny even Swedish? Does this have anything to do with Overwatch? I do not know, but neither did most of this episode.
As a Liquipedia editor and someone who follows most of the t2 scene, I'm probably not the target audience here, but gosh, how they acknowledge that they barely follow the scene and then proceed to make some of the weirdest roster choices really really grinds my gears :( So many good contenders players simply just glossed over. Also Cabimas over Zholik? OOF.
I adored this episode. The debates were interesting and fun, and the food and Finnish book were hilarious. Also, we needed the ketchup/mustard clips from the Bills mafia.
The sheer chaotic energy of having Bren and Sideshow together again brings the kind of intangibles usually attributed to well-liked, marketable players stuck on the bench for being a bit naff
With a 9 team tournament you don't give a single team a bye round (or else you run into the issue of having 5 teams in the next round). You make 2 teams play in a play-in game before the quarters.
The problem with Korea is that if you wanted to take a all star approach, your team is by all means super fine. But logically, if you want to have Smurf as your main tank there is no doubt in my mind that Choi, Striker and Viol2t would also be picked. For the same reason if you really wanted Void as your off tank there is no argument for not picking Fearless, Fleta, LIP, Izayaki etc. because team synergy is more valuable than just having the best players at each position. I would not want to be held responsible for picking out this team lol.
Yeah so dridro is in my opinion Among the most underrated players of the scene. It was two years ago, but his coach said he was honestly the best Mercy in the world. It’s a real shame he’s not in the OWL now that he turned 18.
They should’ve talked about how Korea could only taken fleta and profit since fleta and profit are both A/S tier hitscan players and take Viol2t and alarm/twilight
I havent seen the whole episode yet, but its kinda upsetting that australia isnt included in the list, considering we have been in the top eight (almost) every year
For Korea, Tobi Viol2t seemed like the best shout. Viol2t is arguably the best Overwatch player period. I would put him in and bring someone like Tobi, who is a lot more passive compared to Leejaegon to help support the rest of the team.

Tbh I think Ta1yo might be the real answer for USA’s hitscan dps. Obviously he’s played for Japan’s World Cup team the past 3 years and would probably do so again, but he is American and there’s a good chance he’s better at Ashe than dalton/ksf given the potential shock see in him and his experience in contenders on hitscan
