We took all the suggestions and comments you've made on our video and used it to make this video. Example -- some students wanted us to speed up the video a little more so we did. Some students suggested we upload a more comprehensive video, so we made the video 30 min. Some wanted some questions to try, we added a few. Some wanted a lesson on equations, we added that also. Wow great explanation !!!!!! I’m taking my ged today and hoping for the best this is my 3rd time taking the math portion and this really has helped me out keep the videos going thanks !
holy crap i know this is random and im sorry for butting in, but ive taken it five times too and was a few points from passing :( how do you handle the stress? i think my anxiety is really holding me back
I’m using this to study for my accuplacer test. I need to test into math 145 at my community college, and I’m terrible at math. Math is my last subject before I can apply to the RN program. 😞
Kiran Johny it's alright, you just have to keep trying. I was in special ed for math and I have short term memory, failed the exam about 2 or 3 times. I was so sure I would fail this last one. The tests are different but on mine there were a lot of equations and the "y=" problems. I suggest studying that, also square roots. Also how to measure circles. And study tables. I think the guy I liked watching was called mathtec. Guy with an Australien accent. Also that one guy who uses a lot of humor in his videos to appeal to a young audience. You might can learn more from them.
I take my Accuplacer test tomorrow, and I'm nervous as hell. Seeing that I'm 39 and I always did my math in my head and it's been so long ago... Thank you for confirming that this is a big help to you pass the test!
@@Troklie Yes, I passed it... I also passed my English accuplacer so well that I will be placed into a college level English class. I haven't even been to school since I was 16, until now and I'm 39 yrs old now. Lol
at 11:00 I tried to solve, and came up with final answer of 4ab. Is that right? I'm so rusty on this stuff. Appreciate the video. I'm 35 and trying to go back to school, but I need to complete my GED first and I think your video will be very helpful. I'm taking notes. Thanks a ton :)
yes, but it is not enough. You can get full course on our website or you can watch more GED Math Videos on our new Channel. ruclips.net/user/mathexamples
my placement test is on the 29th and im so nervous i dont even know what to study. please can anyone tell me what their quiz looked like and what questions they got. on all subjects
Well,l just read your comment about answering people's requests, and l have1; can you continue to explain in full detail how this works, because when it came to the division you stop explaining step by step in the same fashion you started with.
-2a*3ab*2b why is it the answers became negative, I thought when you compute a certain number the higher number will be the one will folloe, example -2a* 3ab is = to -6a exponent 2b? is it because where working from left to right?
Maybe someone in these comments can help me with something. So I was using Kahn academy and there was an algebra problem. Issue is I don’t know what I’m reading. So there is the number 10. And directly next to it there is a 1over2(written how you’d write one divided by two) but the ten is directly next to the oneDividedByTwo with no space between like its part of the same number, and no functionality. So am I supposed to solve the division but then treat the answer like it’s part of the ten? So 10.5?
It seems like a mixed number to me. (A mixed number is a whole number next to a fraction). In other words 10.5 as a decimal. For example 10 and a half pounds could be written 10 1/2 pounds.
I don’t understand. Exponents come first. 10xsquared is 200x I think. But they just made the exponent disappear all a sudden. My finale answer was 40x + 6y. What am I missing
I have a question. so, for the TRY @2:00 the last question 3y2+4y2=7y2 i got it wrong i thought it was 25y2 because i thought i was supposed to square the three and the four so i got 9 and 16 then added them. How do i know when i am supposed to square it or not? This is really making me emotional i dont even want to try taking my GED anymore. why did i get a simple question so wrong?
Nicole Jones I haven’t taken it yet. I plan on taking it in mid to late February. I’ve been studying a little bit every day. I graduated high school in 2004 so I know what you mean. Good luck to you. Keep me posted.
Depending on the age of the student( I am 60 ) the instructor needs to go slower.I am terrified and keep getting a blockage when it comes to x's,y'setc.
Stop writing "she is wrong". You are going to confuse my students here. I am not wrong. Please if you do not understand anything ask a question so I can help you to better understand. YOU CAN MULTIPLY 2x squared times 3x cubed to get 6 x exponent 5. YOU CANNOT ADD THEM
@@brandonkyle5287 Please do not let what Shawn said confuse you. What is in the video is correct and accurate. There are no mistakes. Shawn is clearly confusing Adding and Multiplying. JackRabbit5287 UltimateAlgebra is correct. You can not combine exponents when adding like-terms in equations. You only add exponents when multiplying. Such as with F.O.I.L. I had to drill this in my head with notes as I learned it.

Answers to Try Question @ 2:00
1. 2ab
2. 8a + 3ab
3. -2x
4. 7y^2
So for the try questions @2:00 question #1 its 5ab -3ab you dont subtract the let's from the equation?
@@goldenflores9873 do you mean letters?? If you do no you only subtract the letters when you're doing division

Ok now I get I shouldn’t have squared the ten only the x. But still where did the exponent go why is it gone?
