This stabbing happened in a town near me. Two 12 year old girls stabbed a classmate to “please” Slenderman. Luckily the girl survived.
Sucks, she lived is good but that’s a terrible story. Those girls deserve life.
The fact that they stabbed their friend thinking they were "pleasing" a fictional character is sick and shows how crazy the 2 of them were.
Xehanort10 girls always do murders as a group or a couple. Or girls try to manipulate another party to do it.

Mr. ScrubLord it was pure refuse.
It was very bad man. The plot was generic, the pacing was dragging as heck, the cinematography was dull and dark for the wrong reasons, and the characters felt very one-dimensional. The Slender Man also did not look scary in the least bit, which was the biggest sin this movie committed!
I went and watched this with a friend and we both really liked it! There were a lot of flaws but we thought it was really suspenseful and a lot of fun! My friend gave it a 7.5/10 and I gave it an 8/10. Great review Lee!

It's been way too long since we last had a classic horror villain introduced... I think Jigsaw's like the only one this century.

Slenderman had his prime a few years back, this needed to be really great to revitalize the Slenderman mythos phenom. That's probably not happening with this being the big budget film we finally got. Best to stick to RUclips for Slenderman content, there's some great indie films out there.
The girls that stabbed the 14 year old were the same age. They were trying to sacrifice her to slenderman. She also lived. They stabbed her 19 times and left her for dead. She had the will of an iron tiger and crawled her way out of the woods.
Such a tragic story.

I understand that. Individual tastes differ. However, Dumdrums and I share a disdain for overly CGI-driven movies with poor character development. That is enough for me to skip it.

There actually is a good Slender Man movie. It's called the first Sinister movie. And it was dope.
"Now there are so many stupid scenes" way to compliment a director and writer lol. Then when you said you were gut laughing, I get the vibe and laughed out loud that they didn't know the difference between hilarious and scary.
The stabbing happened right near my hometown, luckily the victim survived.

I remember when I was just starting high school and people were very into the Slenderman, like 4 years ago. That would have been the time for something to come out.
#HEELCanvas this is why the movie left me feeling sick to begin with... it feels like the studio is taking advantage of the media hype around the murder case involving that (crazy) girls insistence that she did it for slenderman. The whole thing is pretty tasteless and obvious. Shame on them.

I definitely wasn’t interested in this movie to begin with. And as much good news as we are getting from horror this year, this movie just reminds us of how far horror has fallen from grace, since the 70’s. We don’t need this b’s, especially since we’re pushing for a horror resurgence. Many of today’s audiences sadly, just don’t know what a real horror flick truly is...And, I too despise today’s paranormal, Supernatural films either. Passed off on us as “The latest and greatest”, but in reality, it’s mediocre. They have always been lame to me. Call me old, but I can’t just get with the “times” if they’re gonna continue to release garbage like this. I can’t see how anyone could ever find them scary or good. A psycho Coming at me with a knife is more realistic to me. Because that can actually transpire. This is why I’am a old school Slasher fan for life. Shoutout to Jason Voorhees

heard about slenderman for years, sadly when the creepypasta popularity began when I was in my early 20's so it didn't appeal to me. I played the games and they didn't creep me out and I saw the character images and his design also didn't strike me as scary. I still kept hearing about this character all over the web, so I finally saw this movie yesterday to see what all the fuss is about and it left me still scratching my head. Not my cup of tea at all, but I'm sure it has its fans.
I somewhat remember it advertised, but maybe that could have been part of the plan, maybe once they put together the completed movie, they saw it was crap, so figured they slip it by a quick theatrical run to try and get some money back.
I figured it would be horrible, but I'm still going to see it this weekend! Thanks for the funny review!
Damn that sucks. I was hoping we would have got a decent slender man movie. Yea man Truth or Dare was really terrible. The trailer for it looked like it could be fun, but no it was just a wasted effort. Your right the marketing for slender man has been “Slender” lol I forgot this movie was coming out until I seen a trailer last week. Great review man.
I felt the same way about the release. I saw the trailer recently and figured it would be coming out in a couple months, but then I saw it was coming out this week. I hadn’t even heard of the film until a few days ago.
The first review I saw for this was Jahns and he gave it a good review so I thought "oh ok" and then every other review after that has destroyed the movie 😂😂😂

Damn this sucks. Man the real story behind slender man was really scary. Where the two girls really killed someone and blamed it on slender man telling them to do it. This could/should have been a horrifying movie. Fuck.
Is this worse then The Bye Bye Man or the Bye Bye Man of the year. The HBO documentary on the girls who tried to kill that girl is pretty good and the case is disturbing.
I haven't seen Bye Bye Man, but that documentary sounds interesting.
It looks like this was aimed more at the teenage audience. Like the "creepy pasta" generation.
It gave me the impression of a pg-13 or tv-14 version of a Goosebumps episode.
With that being said, it's a popcorn movie to me. Much better than Bye Bye Man.

Dude, my sister and I were watching this and she saw that it was "looped in hell" and she thought it was a good thing and I explained what it was because she never saw you before. And she's now pissed. LOL! Also. I think to should do candyman (1992) it's amazing! I saw it about 2 months ago. It's really great. Definelty better than this ONE! :)

Slender Man and Truth Or Dare is not bad movie. So far I seen 13 movies that came out this year. I have Slender Man at number 9 and Truth Or Dare at number 5.
Could've been entertaining but couldnt even manage that for some odd reason
i guess the bright side of it being pg13 is kids can watch it and although it wont be for us, it will start to get younger generation into horror, they'll have their own pg13 friendly horror. I think Goosebumps was misguided and it should have been scarier, but they went with more of a full blown comedy, the books were a combo of the two and very scary for kids, but the movie didn't try to make it scary at all. I think if they make this Slenderman for kids and make it actual scary then it may be a foot in the right direction to start making horror for younger generation.
you know what the biggest problem with this movie was?
there is no inclusion of Kate, Charlie no pages like cmon you could've took the story from slender the arrival or ANY other slender game there's like thousands of them

Giving Truth or Dare Some credit when compared to this TRITE, it had a better color pallete and more interesting backstory in my small opinion.
I saw this movie in Asheville North Carolina on a Tuesday. I swear I bought the last ticket 25 minutes before it started. The audience had to have been hopeful, because we were all angry when it sucked. This films main problem is it was terrible, not the marketing.

Lee I just got back from seeing this movie. I agree with everything you said. Didn’t like this one. Only positive I gave it was some creepy imagery here and there but that’s it. I was also wondering did this movie feel like it just dragged on way to long for you? I was sitting there and I said this thing is only an hour and a half but it feels like it is taking forever to end. I feel the only way this movie would be enjoyable is to rent it, invite some friends over and have some beers. There is no other way to enjoy this movie haha.

I have a membership from cinemark and i had a free ticket. Then yesterday I went to go see the slender man, and I have to agree with you about that movie it was bad. But I thought it was cool that I got to see the new trailer for the new Halloween movie. I think that the Director should have done more research about slender man.

I actually did like Truth or Dare. :) But I have to agree with you on this one. Most notably on the zero chemistry part. I normally like Joey King a lot, but even she couldn't keep it interesting for me. I didn't think I was the least bit tired when I sat down to watch this movie, but I fell asleep...at least it didn't cost me anything...after your review and the boring experience I already saw, I don't see the need to suffer thru it again. I was really hoping for a good slender man storyline to watch and enjoy. Besides sitting thru marble hornets again is there anything else about him worthy of a look?
Yeah Joey KIng was decent in Wish Upon actually. My biggest issue with ToD was the faces. Completely removed me from the movie.
Might aswell just wait until it comes to Netflix! Because we know it will lol!
