  • While the hail call is loud and meant to get mallards attention when they are flying by, the feeding chuckle is a socializing call used when birds are on the way in and a great way to make sure they fully commit to your spread. It says to mallards “we’re happy and safe down here” and Manitoba Wildlife Federation Managing Director Rob Olson shows you how to chuckle in this great video.

    Good try, when I started to duck hunt I use to do this,this type of calling flares ducks 3 to 4 chuckles set them out and that's good enough also match your environment if you in a spot where ducks only rest, you can throw in a feed call just don't do it much , like you would if you had a blind in a flooded field with corn. Just what I found out over the years ,still learning best way to learn is go somewhere and listen to ducks calling other ducks and match that. Just remember you can't out call a duck if it lands where you can't see it and starts to call while your calling for them to land in your spread the live duck gets them to land on them you could have 7 dozen decoys and that one live duck will get every duck to land where he or she is just from experience and don't over call either that makes ducks smart and call shy ,sometimes you don't have to call at all just watch and see what the ducks are doing.

    I am a breeder from the heart. I have a specific goal in mind the perfect plant that I'm trying to create. In doing that I use only the best genetics that I can find. I combine those genetics together sifting through The Offspring culling anything that isn't optimum as i move forward in my breeding program.

    You don't have to go fast as possible with a feeding call.

  • @bilbro_tv5232
    @bilbro_tv5232 3 года назад +2

    This is not accurate. This is feeding chatter simulating a number of ducks doing a feeding chuckle. It is not a call most duck hunters should do in the field. Of course there are exceptions say you have 5 dozen decoys and only one person working a call.

    The so called "feeding chuckle" is in reality an aggression call the hens make when another duck is too close. If it is really a feeding call why do they make this call when they are in flight?
