The original Nomad 883 was my first and it stills performs like a champ. Wood, plastic, brass, aluminum. I even took it to Maine on a family trip because I had to make holiday gifts on the run. It's the best tool purchase I've ever made.

Carbide 3D Support is unmatched. I have a friend who purchased a Nomad Classic that he knew wasn't running but thought it only needed a limit switch. After replacing the limit switch and still not getting it going he reached out to Nick at support and after a little troubleshooting on a Zoom call..... Carbide 3D sent him a brand new control board free of charge and he is machining EDC accessories right now. As the owner of my second Shapeoko......a Pro XXL I can say that Carbide 3D is the best company I've ever done business with!!!
Nice, but it's disproportionately expensive compared to the other machines in the stable. It's a strong machine but it's very small in capacity, great if you only want to make small pieces, but you can't mill anything bigger than 8 inches. One thing very obviously missing is any form of dust collection. That would be a great benefit considering the type of materials , plastics & metal that Winston likes so much, sticking to the hardware for long periods. Can't attach external vacuum hose through the front door due to the safety switch. But even a light duty 1" diameter hose to an external port in the corner by power/usb would go a long way to justifying you price!
Disagree. It's quite expensive yes, but if you consider that a 'normal' cnc costs roughly double, this is a bargain. The size argument has always been: It's small both to keep rigidity and accuracy. If you want size then you should buy a shapeoko (i do hope they make a nomad xl someday) and lasty you can take the side window out and add a vacuum.
I love seeing videos with winston on them
I really miss the "Office Hours" live videos. Those were a really great way for the community to see the goings on at C3D.
This sold me. This is the first CNC machine I'm going to own.

I've had a Carbide 3d CNC before and had to sell it for a move, definitely going to get another one

Yeah a video with Winston again ^^
What a great complement for the company to have Winston on board. Not gonna lie, he is 60% of the reason I will buy a Nomad.
Just got my Pro XXL!! Really been missing your vids Winston. Can't wait for the next one!!

No subscription required, and made in America, this is the CNC for me.
Come on and join the family
Has this been reposted as I’ve seen this before.
Still unsupported rails?
Can this machine make aluminum fishing lure molds? Looks like a great machine
Absolutely it can. Aluminum and the NOMAD3 get along just fine
@@carbide3d thank you for the reply
Hey there, I am interested in this cnc machine but was wondering if it could take 303 stainless steel? Thank you
Here’s an example of our Shapeoko 5 Pro cutting some 304: facebook.com/reel/1390214251641531?fs=e&mibextid=YlDasU&fs=e&s=TIeQ9V
Fantastic Video!
How does it compare with a BantamTools CNC mill? Apart from price
So I just purchase the Nomad 3 and can’t wait to receive it. Can you help me which cutter I need to do a name plate on silver or gold 1,2mm?

how do i know the speeds and feeds for gold and silver in that machine? is there any way to figure out that? we don't want to break a lot of bits.
This video features the previous generation Nomad. The principles still apply. It should be helpful. ruclips.net/video/QuM6Ic1Cxok/видео.html
Are there any issues machining under another software? I mean MeshCAM is both Mac and windows but Alibre being only Windows SUCKS 😅
We take normal G-code, so our machines should work with almost any CAM software.
@@carbide3d easy enough! Thanks guys
where did you get the table ?
On Amazon. We have a bunch of them.

Is there a vacuum attachment available?
Not at this time.
Hi, i would like to buy the Nomad 3. Do you have a promocode? 😊
We'd love to have you join the family. There are no promo codes.
How hard is it to cut allum with it ?
Aluminum? It’s designed to eat aluminum all day.

What about 80% AR Lowers? Anyone done it with Nomads?
Not enough time. Use shapeoko. It is faster.
@@rishabhsingh61 ya, that’s what I am doing. Because of facebooks bs overall ways I started a CNC 80% group over in MeWe.com. Have a bunch of members.
