I was doing a zine back when I was in the States and inside I included stickers that said something about “3 rules to being interrogated” I can’t recall exactly the text but it essentially said if you are talking to a cop you are being interrogated, don’t talk to cops!!! Well, a kid who read my zine and had all my T shirts said his friend got arrested and inside the cop car there was that sticker stuck near the cops rearview mirror. 😱👍🏼 So I never talked to the cop but found it pathetic the cop was feeling so confident in peoples stupidity that he could even warn them one final time on the way to jail that they are about to self rat themselves into prison. I also assume the cop posted that sticker as a fcku to me but maybe I just read into it too much cuz of my ego.

It's exactly the same in the UK. If you make a confession, that's an admission of guilt. The police now have no obligation to investigate further or search for evidence that they would have had to do if you hadn't opened your big mouth. They are not your friends, they do not have your best interests at heart. If they're so sure that you're guilty, let them prove it in court.

From everything I heard in this video, this young man was into music at first and he was good at it, then he wanted to fight injustice against people who cyberbully others, but somehow he lost his way, what I gotta say about that is what I see is that he is really gifted with talent and intelligence those are gifts from God, you made a mistake, forgive yourself and next time ask yourself "is it right or wrong what I'm doing" and if it's wrong don't do it, be the wonderful guy that you can be , use those gifts God gave you for good, and don't let anyone take them away from you, they're yours God gave them to you, leave the past behind, don't let fear get a hold of you, rewrite the next chapter of your life and make it beautiful, follow Jesus and team up with him, God can void the injustices of people and governments he is above all that I believe that if you do that you can definitely have a beautiful life, you got all that talent you got what it takes and that's precisely why I had to say this to you, do that and you will see how your life turns all the way around, may you do the right thing and may God keeps blessing you
That's a really sad story. How ridiculous is the American justice system? Very poor in my estimation. Law enforcement is no better than the Mafia. At least the Mafia have a code of honour. Seems there's no honour in the justice system.
Absolutely excellent video! Really enjoyed the twists and turns of these interviews. I have to agree with him going to prison though ( but not that long) as he made bad choices, really bad. He had a family, a child and yet he risked it all for some endorphin jolts of being the mysterious hacker. Even doing a RUclips to play a part. He had the power to seriously destroy that hospital/ clinic. But thank you Ghost for your story, a little vague there in the end, but understandable why.
The initial story doesn't really add up. If he had a crappy wifi connection, how does connecting, to a server on the same network, help? If you are losing you wifi connection, your connection to the server via log me in would crap out, and you would be disconnected.
My impression was he was using a cellphone or other wifi, and the building's wifi was hardwired to a T1 or similar high-speed line. He was close enough to connect to the building's wifi directly so no timeouts.
@@LabGeckothat still doesn't explain things. If his laptop data connection (wifi, hotspot, etc) was shitty, installing using log me in, to access a server doesn't help that. His log me in traffic would still be going through his shitty laptop access. If he connected to the buildings wifi, and had good high speed access on his laptop, he would just be done, and installing log me in on the server still wouldn't be necessary.
It's unlikely the botnet would affect the temp conditions enough to spoil medicines. That was a concern made up to justify talking to the FBI. Even if it did, every clinic has temp recorders, in some situations **by law**, to show if something has gone out of range. This temp range is recorded. If a temp was out of range and wasn't caught, then the clinic failed their job, even though being hacked wasn't their fault. HIPAA is a valid concern though.
@@robertlee8519 if you assume the worst about him. Realistically, if you catch someone hacking a hospital's systems, you don't know the extent of the damage they're doing without breaking into those systems yourself. You'd be a dick not to report the intrusion.
@@cristianespinal9917 I'm not assuming the worst. He needed a reason to ease his cognitive dissonance. He cared for his hacker group but needed reason to turn him in. It's not a reason to assume the worst in him, it's just what he did. HIPAA was good enough reason.
Remember when the internet collectively thought it was funny to bully a 14 year old girl because she made a music video on youtube and had a dream of becoming a singer?
Why don't Insider threats cause companies to "act" right? Ethical, moral, with integrity, and more employee appreciation? You're less likely to sabotage an altruistic company, right? If they don't fear consequences or care about opinion of its sheep, where is the justice?
Company focus is on the shareholders who scream the most, who coincidentally aren't at the office every day and usually have no idea what goes on there other than the check they get from dividends or seeing the stock price rise or fall. Yeah, we need some worldwide adoption of serious ethics controls in business / accounting.
Living with someone who constantly thinks you're a threat just because you touch a computer... I would've left on the second or third instance of that, and if that was the main part of my social circle, I probably would try to leave existence, not the country.
Ghost Exodus doesn't sound like he really learned his lesson and in my opinion probably inflated the details of his hactivism when most of his time was spent on spats and disputes.

looking at this, from my UK man perspective. I did think the American judges, being more like normal people, would be better. In stark contrast, we Have very pompous judges here in the UK. It does seem that Our Judges see them selves as better than everybody else. But, you are most unlikely to find anybody saying they’re wrong or unfair or messed up. We do have Sentencing guidelines for Judges to work with. If a sentence seems harsh, there is guaranteed to be an appeal. If the sentence was found to be not harsh, you can get even more jail time because you appealed. The main thing here is that a plea deal is un heard of. They won’t charge you with an overinflated charge here, because it will just get thrown out by the judge, or you’ll just get found not guilty. They will only charge you with something that the Crown Prosecution Service believe will stick. This case has made me realised that our old fashioned judicial system is actually not too bad at all. Here in the UK, this man would not of got any jail time at all. He would not have to pay any money or promise any money to be out on bail. People here get free bail because they’re not a danger to the public. They may face some conditions or restrictions whilst on bail. If you are a danger to the public or a flight risk on a serious charge then you will be held in jail until the day of your trial.
@@King-Arthur-The-First yep, whereas in the US instead of teaching judges and policing forces ethics, compassion, and minimal use of force they are taught to go for max penalties because that arrest goes on the cop's resume or judge's election talking points (many judges are elected in the US).
@@LabGecko elected judge’s does seem to have its pros and cons. Here in the U.K. there is zero input from the public when it comes to the appointment of our judges. The same goes if the Judge becomes a more senior judge. If you appeal a case that was heard by a judge, then the appeal would have to be a more senior judge. If you lose that appeal, you could get more of a punishment than you started with. All judges here seem to have started out as barristers (best legal brains for hire) Crazy little known fact is that our courts will tolerate a very experienced solicitor to act in the same way as a barrister in a crown court, but they’re not allowed to wear the white wigs that the Judge and barristers wear. If you’re in a Crown Court, (serious cases, ) you get a free barrister if you can’t afford one. If you’re in a magistrates court, and you turn up with a barrister, you will win, no matter what because they will just dominate the show🤣 would cost you 1-2k a day min tho including extra days to prepare. Barrister once said to me, it’s not like real life in court. It’s just what you make the Jury believe on the day. That is probably the same in the U.S courts I assume.
They were setting an example, but nine years is entirely justified. Imagine the amount of people that were potentially at risk through his use of the HVAC as a playground.
About the cyber-bullying thingy, I rather be cyber-bullied than psychically bullied, you can just block someone if he talks to you online, but you cannot block someone that psychically bullies you (unless you use violence).
Do you mean physical bullying? Plenty of studies proving that mental / psychological / social media bullying is just as damaging long-term as physical bullying. Search google scholar for "bullying psychological effect"
Keep people from growing up. How about promoting the idea sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. I came from a place where if someone didn't like you for any reason they beat you up. Crazy we are needing someone else to defend us against words. Hell I didn't have anyone to defend me against real life fist n feat.
Hey, fellow Texan here. I hear ya. But before you're set on that view, search google scholar on "bullying psychological effect". Especially when people dogpile online, it can have worse and longer lasting effects than getting beat up.
@@LabGecko words have a psychological effect when you raise week minded kids. “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.” we are in the create weak men stage.
@@LabGecko they didn't ask the people who died getting beat up I'm sure. They didn't ask anyone whom was left handicapped or had to get fake teeth installed. I had a broken arm once, broke my leg another time, and several broken hands. I would say anyone who says words can hurt more than a physical altercations has never been punched in the face. Words don't hurt at all after that ever by anyone. Maybe we line all the kids that said words hurt there mind and feelings. We then punch them all in the face once and ask again. From everything I heard in this video, this young man was into music at first and he was good at it, then he wanted to fight injustice against people who cyberbully others, but somehow he lost his way, what I gotta say about that is what I see is that he is really gifted with talent and intelligence those are gifts from God, you made a mistake, forgive yourself and next time ask yourself "is it right or wrong what I'm doing" and if it's wrong don't do it, be the wonderful guy that you can be , use those gifts God gave you for good, and don't let anyone take them away from you, they're yours God gave them to you, leave the past behind, don't let fear get a hold of you, rewrite the next chapter of your life and make it beautiful, follow Jesus and team up with him, God can void the injustices of people and governments he is above all that I believe that if you do that you can definitely have a beautiful life, you got all that talent you got what it takes and that's precisely why I had to say this to you, do that and you will see how your life turns all the way around, may you do the right thing and may God keeps blessing you
Feels bad for exhodus, is not easy to have so many changes in life. He seems like a good person
He went from one cult to another instead of realizing that the framework itself is the problem.
I'm new to ur channel but I'm already becoming a fan! Great video!
Thanks for subtitles
Ghost exodus deserved better, screw this guy who reported him and was pompous about it.
That's a really sad story. How ridiculous is the American justice system? Very poor in my estimation. Law enforcement is no better than the Mafia. At least the Mafia have a code of honour. Seems there's no honour in the justice system.

Nothing except a reasoned, ethical mind instead of the 'rack up the charges' elected officials we get
Absolutely excellent video! But thank you Ghost for your story, a little vague there in the end, but understandable why.
such a great podcast, really glad i found it. Chill vibes but still super interesting and exciting
Justice in this world is a luxury you can make based on influence and money.
I appreciate your videos man
🤙🏼
Yee!
I doubt he knew that level of detail about the temp conditions.
@@cristianespinal9917 exactly, because he was making up concerns. It wasn't a real reason.
@@robertlee8519 sorry, I get what you're saying now. I think our wires got crossed and I misunderstood.

Remember when the internet collectively thought it was funny to bully a 14 year old girl because she made a music video on youtube and had a dream of becoming a singer?
Dude became a dollar sign to the court system.
Thank you, Jack!!
this dude better just get his shit together because he definitely isnt a very bright criminal.
Love those fresh episodes Thanks
Love your shows man!
He got busted because he's terrible at being a criminal
I would agree on calling the cops on dangerous situations. But if not I will never ever call the cops on anyone. for anything. literally ruins your life.
Wesley, do the right thing and get him a job making as much as if not more than you make.
That he didn’t know that the police need a confession to prop up a weak case must mean GE had never seen a TV cop show. 😆
LOL I remember Ophcrack! My dorms in college had a huge computer room you could access at any time, BUT they all had web monitoring, page/exe blocking etc., so I used an Ophcrack CD I made to reset the password for the PC I usually sat at, used Rufus + a Win 7 ISO on a flashdrive to fresh install windows before downloading my steam library, making a guest acct with spyware that I control on it so it acts the same, and then leaving. Almost failed 2 classes because I was too busy playing CS: Source to study.

Crazy injustice from ignorant judge and jury
He confessed so theirs no plee offer to confess and he won't snitch so their was nothing stopping the book being thrown at him
looking at this, from my UK man perspective.
I did think the American judges, being more like normal people, would be better. In stark contrast, we
Have very pompous judges here in the UK.
@@LabGecko
elected judge’s does seem to have its pros and cons.
All judges here seem to have started out as barristers (best legal brains for hire)
Crazy little known fact is that our courts will tolerate a very experienced solicitor to act in the same way as a barrister in a crown court, but they’re not allowed to wear the white wigs that the Judge and barristers wear.
39:28 yea def should of learned that before doing crimes my man that said tho they completely screwed him but he also screwed himself

They, who own the media, already know your character, that's why they mastered psychology.
“ghost exodus” sounds like it probably means death
About the cyber-bullying thingy, I rather be cyber-bullied than psychically bullied, you can just block someone if he talks to you online, but you cannot block someone that psychically bullies you (unless you use violence).
That's not how it works
You don’t even need to block them. People need to change their mind set and realize who gives a shit what random people say to them it means nothing.
Violence works pretty well tbh
Do you mean physical bullying? Plenty of studies proving that mental / psychological / social media bullying is just as damaging long-term as physical bullying. Search google scholar for "bullying psychological effect"
@@LabGecko but you can blocked them, letting them continue means you like that.
Big fan of scholar side search of Google. That's how I know mask were bogus. But then watched Chinese study's push American ones out of the results page . Beware
