I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video Todd very informative on the difference between objects and all the subtleties they come from around docks
WOW! Best I seen on UT...Great explain..Learned more in those 15m that all the hours I've watched before on SI...Great talk/istructions and examples thx DAN
Todd thank you so much! That was the best video yet on reading the side image screens. I can’t wait to check out some of my favorite spots and get a better idea of why fish are there and learning to duplicate their patterns.
Side imaging is the best thing since sliced bread, I spend A LOT of time running / scanning my home lake it's amazing the spots I never ever knew were there or why some spots were hot until now. I also gotta shout out to live scope which allows greater detail when I want to pick a area apart . Glad someone is finally talking about these newer electronics, I want to keep getting info on them so please do all the videos you want on imaging :P
Nice video Todd great info I love to fish those kind of docks in the shallows wacky worm is deadly in that 1 to two foot range thanks for sharing friend
I gotta say, watching you and your boys (Hallman, Upshaw and Jason!) on these videos is solid gold. My fishin buddy and I even took a trip to Rayburn this summer bc of y’all. Really appreciate all the insight. Y’all are making us all better. Thank you!
Todd Castledine Fishing we even stayed in Zav uhh luhh! I’ll tell you what, whenever we needed a bite, we just ran to the bridge close to cassel boykins, schools were blowing up every time we seemed to ride by. My buddy had the time of his life. Never caught more on top than we did that trip! Figuring out that hydrilla and coontails was another story! Never found the big bite, but had lots of bites. Unbelievable fishery!
Yes! Perfect timing as I'm finally getting a 2d sonor for my yak and jon boat - nothing fancy like ya'll have. Love the insight of this video. We always see and hear or see cover pitch/flip to cover, repeat. No one goes into these details on reading their graphs and saying what you're really looking for and why some docks are better than others. You should look to do some 'series' of videos covering certain topics, if that interests you of course. Always enjoy the insight you give into better fishing!
That was one of the best videos of siding imaging that I have seen to date thank you for explaining in detail and even driving to show what u was explaining just picked up my first Ti2 9 with side imaging and I’m excited to use it but people like you explaining how to define what you’re seeing makes it even easier to understand thank you
Dude thank you so much for taking your time to show these things ...it means alot stuff like this is valued as a angler who dreams of owning a boat or one that has one but never really learned ...these videos like this are huge in the learning curve of fishing
Great stuff. Interesting how you don’t seem to be looking for groups of fish or bait like you would when graphing offshore. Strictly looking at cover and structure and then actually fishing the high percentage docks instead of moving on because not seeing actual fish. This video is very helpful and greatly appreciated.
Just an unbelievably great video! I just happened on your tutorial 'Side Imagining Docks'. Best instructional video, regarding how to use the features of something to become more successful. Just the right length and so easy to understand. I just subscribed and hope to see more of your tutorial videos (specifically on active imagining and down scan).
Cool video Todd . There were a couple of fish in the shadow of that concrete slab of the last dock. I really haven’t spent a lot of time graphing docks. Think I may start. Thanks.
This was pretty sweet,I dont have the nice side imaging stuff, but still loved watching it,it really makes it tough to compete against guys that do have the nice units
Okay, now this was filled with great info for someone like me who is new to graphing and how to read them. I bet some guys will be upset with this video. Lol!
Todd - upping the electronics game to get Active Target on the bow but I am also changing to HDS Live. Curious on your thoughts about a console mount - thinking about a 16 or a single mount 12. 16 seems so large. I don’t see many pros running them. I fish a lot but not a tourney fisher. FYI Vexus AVX 1920 boat -
I see you’re running Humminbird’s do you ever use 360 imaging around docks while on the trolling motor? What HB units are you using? I’m thinking about upgrading and there’s really too many good choices on the market now.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Hey Todd evinrude question I’m looking at a 17 model G2 with zero hours still in the crate. It’s my understanding they will still make parts and honor the warranties. Do you know that to be true? Because this motor is marked way down lol and that’s what has me worried.
Yes they are still making parts and all that. I know plenty of guys still getting things worked on and its been fine. Its marked down probably because he needs to get rid of it there will be some smoking good deals on motors over the next couple months.
Usually it’s a bit less rewarding because it’s so much harder to find obscure objects even though it’s easier to read. The reason is when you build docks sometimes there is left over concrete and other objects that make it different
Some call it a sea wall, its the structure they build for the shoreline instead of natural bank. I've had some people say that they call it different. Where I grew up I never heard it call anything different. Even the builders have the name on business cards like that.
🤔I 👀 tha juice man!,instead of trying to 🎣 a line of docks wasting time. Scan the docks,so you can 🎣 the most visual juice out of all the other docks. O'man 10 4 TC!
I’ve really grown accustomed to watching your videos , but IMO side imaging is a joke it’s so foolish. It’s reminds me of a 1980s Honda or the very first Nintendo
Todd Castledine Fishing I think it works it’s just so bad. You have to really study the screen . Everything is like a puzzle and you really have to know what your looking at. I just feel I shouldn’t have spend so much time ciphering what’s what
I absolutely learned more about side imaging in the first 5 minutes than I have in 2 years using it and not understanding what I was seeing
Best sides can dock video I’ve seen!
Thank you
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video Todd very informative on the difference between objects and all the subtleties they come from around docks
You bet I plan on doing some more of these

Great video. Wish there was more info like this
I learned more off of this video than any fish finder video ever. Thanks for the education.
Awesome thanks, I think I need to do more of these
Dude thank you so much for taking your time to show these things ...it means alot stuff like this is valued as a angler who dreams of owning a boat or one that has one but never really learned ...these videos like this are huge in the learning curve of fishing
My pleasure!
Great video and breakdown of what to look for when searching docks! Look forward to the next video
Awesome, thank you!

Hard to see a single fish in a dock or even two, lots of things can get in the way of that.
That was a great video! Keep those types of videos coming.
Thanks! Will do!

Trust me I don't have the 360 or live scope so when I hear about others with it I fell the same way.
I know that's right, maybe one day I'll buy a used boat with all that fancy stuff already on it,my 96 javelin is getting old,lol
Funny thing is I still found all that stuff fishing now I can see it.
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 Ding ding ding!!!
Good to know , nice tips on the side scan. Thanks
No problem 👍
Okay, now this was filled with great info for someone like me who is new to graphing and how to read them. I bet some guys will be upset with this video. Lol!
Nah!! I'm not worried about others that's for sure. Hope it helps.

16s do seem like an over kill, I'm a guy who likes 2 graphs intsead on of one for a lot of reasons.
You fishing Cypress Springs? Good Video btw!
A+ content........more please
Coming!!!!!!
I hate technology. But thanks so much for this video. You explained way more than most people! Can you continue this with a series?
You bet, by the way you got brought up last night with Hallman and I. Congrats that’s big you made our video
Hey man nice video . In water less than 30 feet what frequency should I use . I have 455 and 800

Good video , when are you 4 doing red river shootout again that was a good video.
waiting till we are all together again, thinking about doing it after the open on Rayburn
I see you’re running Humminbird’s do you ever use 360 imaging around docks while on the trolling motor? What HB units are you using? I’m thinking about upgrading and there’s really too many good choices on the market now.
I'm running hummingbird Helix 12s

Good stuff
Appreciate it
How can you tell if those are tires, or stumps that are hollow in the center?
Tires always show up perfectly round, usually very minimal shadow, usually in bunches.
Good info
Thanks
Damn that is cool!
Thank you

Todd Castledine Fishing yeah dealership has dropped a 150 down to 10k installed
Todd is this lake Livingston?
Yes it is
So the pic on screen is from the top looking down? I'm lost and have 2 new helix i havnt been on lake with yet. Help?
Lol
The pic is to the left on the side imaging. If you look at the numbers on the top it lets you know how many feet to the left its looking
What about floating docks?
Usually it’s a bit less rewarding because it’s so much harder to find obscure objects even though it’s easier to read. The reason is when you build docks sometimes there is left over concrete and other objects that make it different
Is that Livingston?
Maybe!!!!!
It’s hard to find fish there.
Yea, its getting tough for sure, they need to drop it down 5 feet for a couple of years and that would help. That place use to be really good.
Explain a bulkhead plz we may call it something else in Tn
Some call it a sea wall, its the structure they build for the shoreline instead of natural bank. I've had some people say that they call it different. Where I grew up I never heard it call anything different. Even the builders have the name on business cards like that.
Livingston?
Yes
Do you care if there isn’t a lot of life near one, like no signs of bait or bream?
Not really, but I promise if there is cover like this around a dock there is life.
Todd Castledine Fishing gotcha TY
🤔I 👀 tha juice man!,instead of trying to 🎣 a line of docks wasting time. Scan the docks,so you can 🎣 the most visual juice out of all the other docks. O'man 10 4 TC!

Did u see any fish?
You can see some in the thumbnail!!!!!
Money.
Thanks
I’ve really grown accustomed to watching your videos , but IMO side imaging is a joke it’s so foolish. It’s reminds me of a 1980s Honda or the very first Nintendo
