WOW. My sister in law had a mastiff that had issues with this and eventually succumbed to this, dying at about 6-7yrs old.
I have a 10 month old pit bull & I've been letting him out AFTER he eats & he ends up running with our other dog. So this is great information to know.
I'll definitely be switching that up. He'll go out BEFORE eating. And then about 2 hrs AFTER eating.
Thank you SO much. God bless 🙏😇

This happened to my Doberman guide dog… Luckily he survived the surgery… Took two vets to perform the surgery… Your description of how he was acting was exactly correct… He did have the extended stomach which was rock hard… many people come home and find their dogs dead due to this… He was also doing a lot of drooling and whining

This happened to our German Shepherd, had never heard of it before. He was only 4 years old when this killed him. And yes, before anyone chimes in, we did get him to the emergency vet, it was horrible. It's good to tell people about this, so their aware of it.

This killed my brother's dog. She had a litter and one of the puppies was returned to him, and after the puppy came back she would often play really rough right after eating. One Sunday she flipped her stomach and the only emergency vet was over an hour away. She died on the way there. It was horrible.

This happened to my pity when he was a puppy I thought I had lost him. There was no way to get help for my dog, we had to wait it out. His eyes were rolling to the back of his head and I couldn’t get him up to move around but finally after a couple hours he came out of it, and I think the stomach somehow untwisted itself because he was rolling on his back and then he completely rolled over at one point, so I’m not a vet and I’m not telling you to roll them over, that’s not what I did. He did it on his own. I don’t know what helped him if that was it, but he was fine. he’s a whopping 65 pound American Staffy And I can say specifically because I’m owner and handler. He’s a knot head, stubborn, hardheaded I guess that goes along with stubborn, bullheaded and the best damn dog I’ve got right now and he’s highly intelligent. I’m very happy he came through his problem.
Thanks again Garrett for a very informational video that most people don’t know but do now.

Are you sure that bloat was the cause? Usually it's said that there's no chance without surgery in 4 hours after the first symptoms appeared. Never heard of any dog surviving it without surgery.
But anyway, I'm happy that your pity did well after it

Sadly that happened to my 14 year old Great Dane but due to his age the recovery on the breed and age would not be too highly recommended because he would not make long.
    Great Advice ASK9

Remember when I visited a first aid course many years ago. It was at a great Dane club and some breeder joined to share their experiences.
One breeder said he lost 3 dogs through it in his life and he was already cautious. 2 could been saved with surgery.
Spreading awareness is so good, especially as it can happen to certain dogs even if the owner is so careful.
Good that there's a surgery now to prevent it.

Exactly, I feed my pity later on in the day or morning, there’s no set time that I truly feed. However, it’s after he’s had a good hard run, I feed raw as well. 👍. My Knot head is an American Staffy.

My beautiful 9 yo 50kg German Shepherd sadly passed away this week. He was on raw food and my husband gave him 2 scoops of biscuits. He was vomiting up foam for an hour, and looked very puffy. We thought he would be okay in the morning and went to bed. He passed away sometime in the next 3 hours. I wish I had seen this earlier 😔
