No one sings this great old hymn better than the wonderful Connie Smith. She is one of the greatest natural vocalists I have ever heard. I can listen to her sing for hours !

I first heard a recording of this hymn, sung by this singer, at a small funeral service I attended, which was held in a tiny corrugated iron Catholic Church at St Lucia Estuary, Zululand, South Africa in about 1994. It wasn’t appropriate at the time to ask details about the singer or the album and I have been searching for both ever since. I am beyond thrilled to have finally found it and learned her name. How is it that I am just now "discovering" this amazing brilliant talent at age 66? Connie Smith is extremely underrated!

Yes indeed, I think Connie's version even beats the King's version, and that's saying something.
How many of you realize there are 4 versus to this song she does a beautiful job but she only sings the 1st and 4th versuses of the song.
