    1. Get rid of every sugared beverage in the house
    2. Eat your carbohydrates with fiber. 3 rams of fiber or greater.
    3. Wait 20 minutes for a second portions. Eat your food with fiber.
    4. Buy your screen time with activity. Exercise must be consistent and sustained.
Dr. Lustig is fascinating, compelling and a truth teller who will save your life if you listen. He woke me up!

@@kathleenking47 @kathleenking47 ya man thats so insane internet, gaming, screens they are all addicting and they should be handled the same as every other addiction
good parents are strict and control their kids cause they love them
bad parents have a idc attitude and justify it by saying stuff like "I give my kid more freedom"
when in reality they just don't want to deal with their kids and are happy when they spend all day in front of a screen wasting their lifes instead of annoying them

My tips: Get everything out of the house that comes out of a readable box, can, bag, or bottle, including all breads, dairy, processed oils. Then buy only single-ingredient foods, such as veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, meats, fish etc. Start each meal with half a pitcher of green smoothie, mixed at random using green leaves, fruits, nuts and water. If you're still "hungry" or angry after each meal while getting off the wheat and sugar addiction, eat an avocado or some nuts to end the meal.

I think what he means is the time it takes the stomach to empty the chyme to move from your stomach into the lower intestine. But the actual point he is making isnt bs - the problem is people eat, still feel hungry and then have a second portion immediately. Giving it time allows the digestive processes to work and for the ghrelin to subside. He isnt going to say wait 2 hours as no-ones going to wait that long for 2nds... but giving it 20 mins may be enough for people to not then eat more.

  • @bighands69
    @bighands69 11 лет назад

One way to help this is to try and find activities that are out door based I am assuming you have children if they are young they will not mind the outdoor harder for older children who have gotten addicted to the indoor comforts.
I might be a little insensitive on the subject having come from the UK and spent many hour crawling through the mud on military service.
Since you are now out in summer use that as the starting point and try to stay out. If you live on the coast try swimming.

You don't need all to change your diet completely, just watch the sugar and the weight falls off. I removed sugary sodas from my diet, I still have a diet soda with just about every meal. I "cook" most of my meals. I do fortified meals, I have ramen, but I add veggies and meat to it and make it more like Chinese food. Also it is way cheaper, like less than $5 a day for food... More money for the good life.

There was a recent recommendation by the FDA or so to identify the level of whole graininess of a boxed (processed) product. Total carbohydrates divided by 10, if Fiber value is 1 or higher, the product is more whole grain. However, there are other stuff to read on the labels and ingredients to make full sense of a product. The word "product" is already a curse. Going for farmed intact foods is the way to go.

No offence taken, it is just easier to exercise and undertake activities in the sun (I grew up in Southern California and now I live in England). I exercise indoors when it rains as I hate going out in the rain which it does most of the time here, except now it is fabulous as we are having the first heat wave in years. As I don't like the rain, I live indoors much of the time in England. I have all the correct clothing but don't like putting it on and going out into the rain.

My hubby doesn't have the stop signal. I'm in other extreme... I barely eat. Nearly losing my parents, loss my job & feeling failure & not normal caused me to obsess over the BMI chart & my weight. I feel that if there is one thing I could control & manage it would be my weight & what I eat. For me it's not the wiring of the brain, but external pressure. My hubby though, it's truly the wiring of the brain. We do try to help one another, he feeds me... or tries to... & I become his stop signal.

Most importantly the obese person needs to know that they should eat as much of these foods as they desire... at the outset. YOU SHOULD NEVER GO HUNGRY as the body adapts to the change. As long as you keep the carbs under 30 grams per day you should be seeing fat loss... and most of all, give it time to work! This is not a quick fix. It is a lifechange that is being made NOT TO LOOK GOOD AT THE BEACH, BUT TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!

unless you're allergic to wheat or gluten, you should NEVER eliminate wheat completely from your diet especially whole wheat. It is good source of energy, fibers, vitamins and most importantly low in glycemic index. You are less likely to get hungry and therefore eat large portions for dinner if you eat a slice or two of healthy whole wheat bread for breakfast along with something else (egg, cheese, veggies).

@@tigertalks1567 I don't have time to go into the full science behind it but actually fruit sugar metabolizes different from the sugar that's in a piece of cake. Apples are perfectly healthy to eat and in fact have many health benefits. If you eat 10 apples per day, then you have a problem but an apple even once a day isn't going to hurt you. You see, the problem with comments like yours is you don't give any additional information so it doesn't help to make a statement without the science to back up your claim. Especially since this person posted that comment 8 fucking years ago. I bet you're the type of person that believes eggs are bad for cholesterol. Shut up and go get your vaccine!

We're talking about USA. $ not €. You can buy more food because the ingredients the USA uses are cheap and easy to produce. Healthy food is more costly to prepare. Do your research.

Great ideas and explanations of obesity but what a shame about the predictable public health suggestions. My body is mine and you will not tell me what i can and cannot put into it.

    >Gelatin desserts, (dry mix) is over 90g carbohydrate per 100g
Gelatin=Made from Collagen. no fiber by itself
there's carb showing on your package because there's sugar in it. my kids have the same thing right now in my house.
    try again.

Never really liked it. Everything that's made out of milk is awesome though.

Doctor Lustig is so inspired...lol... So American!
Why make it so complicated? Just make most of your food from scratch, don't drink those chemical beverages and allow yourself a few sweets every now and then.

There are many things that have been banned some of them straight from nature and the reasons they were banned had nothing to do with health.
Since you asked the question why was there attempts to have it banned. Well the sugar industries are very powerful.
Stevia was banned for many years and there was some very poor research that suggested it was cancerous.
I am not saying aspartame is healthy but it is not as bad as our sugar additives that have caused a disease epidemic.

Pretty life-controlling hints, at least if you follow all of them... I can't believe a life where something totally controls it is even worth living. You can't live to the max if you have to worry about every single second what goes down your throat. Everything can be eaten if the amount is rationed well, having a total NO!'es in your diet won't bring any good unless you are trying to recover from an addiction.

I recently had surgery. Ileostomy now. I struggle even more now with weight loss. And I believe that the surgery weakened my stomach muscles so I now have an APRON for a stomach. Is there anything different I should do? I'm not the only one. Many of my ostomates struggle with the 'Winnie the Poo' belly.

Do not take offence at this.
But rain is not an excuse for children not to go out. Having good clothing for protection against rain and finding activities that children can do even when it is raining.
There is not such thing as bad weather but bad clothing. A good rain jacket, trousers and boots will allow them to go out.
