This mans music saved my early adulthood life. I know it may sound crazy but growing up in SC in my late teens and early 20s, I did not have a positive foundation of family and friends around me. Long story short, I heard "THE BLAST" and found out it was his song. After that, that whole culture of that style of hip hop raised me into an adult and change my life. I Got mad love for Kweli for saving my life from all the negative I could of went through.
Same with me ... All my friends was listening to nothing but cash money and would copy everything they did .. they were always in trouble..my teacher put me on to talib and I know his music kept me out of getting in trouble with my friends.

I don't normally post on here, but this was a breath of fresh air. With all the "old school" dropping albums, it's almost like you can feel a shift in the culture. The elders are speaking to bridge the gap that's been missing in the culture for a minute. That's just my perspective...peace, love and blessings to you all.

I literally just commented last week about how much I have been LOVING The Breakfast Club lately! There is a new energy recently and I literally keep coming back for moments like this. I think the DJ Miss Nyla Simone should be there for all the musical interviews from now on! Also we love Miss Loren LaRosa as always. And great job Lenard as well 💓💗
Lauren L is soo damn dope. She needs either Jess spot or to be up there with her. Her and Claudia Jordan are excellent radio hosts with great questions and they know their stuff.
One of the illist Hip^Hip Music Rappers, Artist's , Artist that this dude gone studies the game , one of the biggest pioneers in Hip^Hip Music historians and it shows in this video how intellectually talented he really is and that's some facts about the way you talk that talk and how you feel that feeling as if he's a Prophet in Hip^Hip Music Scene , by myself saying this is a lot to me as a real one who does study the truth about Hip^Hip history of knowledge on so many topics and categories in a whole , Talib is ill from Scottish Cloth Ya'h Herd .
The idea that music can either be 'deep' or 'party/escapism' songs is so silly. I grew up on Bob Marley. Stevie Wonder. Marvin Gaye. Music that you can sing along to, dance to that still resonates. You can make the arguement, that songs like Juicy by Biggie is a conscious song.
It's a shame how slept on Talib Kweli is in the rap game. He has a stellar discography and he only keeps honing his craft to perfection, and he's really out here talking about something. The culture needs to give this man his flowers, fr.
I'm really glad Hip-hop has intelligent people like Talib Kweli, that can show how nuanced and beyond surface level Hip-hop culture and voices can be. Wonderful Interview
Mos Def is my Favorite Emcee ever. And I’ll say Black Star doesn’t get the GGOAT convo for the same reason Andre 3000 and Lauryn Hill doesn’t get Top 5 from most… Productivity. Black Star, until recently, only had ONE album. As a squad, Native Tongues Crew, is THE GOAT though.. Mos, Kweli, Dave Chappelle, Common, D’Angelo, Badu, Jill Scott, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed, JBs, J Dilla, Busta Rhymes, Queen Latifah, De La Soul, Kanye… the Native Crew is the heart and soul of Real HipHop.

Idk, but it appears to me that these ladies really held this interview down with their articulate, concise and real thought provoking questions, and I have to say, I usually have disdain for Charlemagne, but I have to applaud him for allowing these ladies to breathe and give their energy to the interview. Respect due. Envy needs to miss shows more often lol Honor and Respect to the God Talib...
This was a great interview👌🏼. Im not even trying to get in the talk ish about Jess band wagon cause she's been gone for a while now but the show pretty much do feel better now, no shade. When Jess first got there it for real for real seemed like the right choice but now in Jess's absence these women, in particular Lauren Larosa, has stepped her game up and the Breakfast club's game up overall for real for real. Breakfast club may legit need to keep rotating the host like they did before Jess was hired full time cause you cant just cut off Lauren Larosa and even Nyla Samone when Jess comes back just like that👀🤔
Imagine hating on someone instead of just congratulating their success 🤡🤡🤡 you could have just said the girls did a good job without even mentioning Jess 🤡🤡🤡
I’m the guy that got talib kweli banned on Instagram because he kept reporting me he would start problems with me and then try to bother my friends and then he would report me but when I reported him back, I guess he has so many reports they banned him forever on Instagram he still hates me to this every day, and I got more subscribers than him now on RUclips lol 😂
I love Talib. He is self-aware. I followed him on social media. It has to be exhausting with people who do not hear what you are saying. He is right about ego. He has the microphone to get his words out. Much respect to him.Kanye wants to be liked and goes where he wants to be liked. Strange. It's the same with Trump. And they are both cry babies.
Best breakfast club interview in a long time. We need more of these cerebral, conscious conversations.
The young ladies in this interview asked great questions and brought a much needed presence to the show
Yes indeed
LOL Jess wouldve just nodded the entire interview
Maybe enough ppl will echo that sentiment and they get a chance to host their own show.
