1:02 - 1:07 et voilà. Jane's response is goldenish. i thought it was a nice and catchy title. i will watch the entire thing later. i think it's an interesting thing to listen to.

Culture is dead, we don't have a common set of values anymore, everyone has their own and its celebrated. In paper that's fine but it also means that its difficult to communicate your experience through art, imagery specially, because nobody else will understand your "common" sense. So film is dead as a language but thrives as mindless entertainment.

But by that definition, even a video game would be considered a film. That certainly should be viewed as a separate art form, right?

What is Hollywood doing these days with film. Pissing off the far right as I can tell. Outside of Hollywood is doing great. You’ll find most of the directors there who are still using film as a canvas and playing and exploring within that canvas. Have you got a chance to read Quentin’s book, Cinema Speculation? Reading it now. There are still a good number of filmmakers that I follow and always finding new ones or new films that strike me with awe and strike a conversation within me. I’m waiting for Disney and the MCU to implode so that we can go back to the days of 90’s independent cinema. A24 is the closest thing we have right now in Hollywood that cares about the filmmakers and their vision before money, but with Civil War they were trying to break into that capitalist system and I hope that isn’t the way they go and continue to value the new filmmakers and their visions.

Hollywood is just doing reboots and superhero movies . They don’t seem like they want to invest in movies if it’s not a huge blockbuster style movie . A smart for them, but hugely annoying for moviegoers thing they are doing is rebooting old movies and doing a race swap, which will cause far right ppl to promote it for free as they will post the movie and talk about it, so Hollywood don’t have to advertise and then they will then attack the group who is featured in the new movie, even though they had nothing to do with the race swap , which will then cause them to watch the movie out of spite and boom, Hollywood has a blockbuster with a old script.

@@Justafox305 I see more of these RUclips film reviewers going off on these movies. They watch them just to complain at this point. I’ve told people, if you want a certain type of movie to stop playing at the theater to not see it and just ignore it, but they will keep going. Hollywood is going to keep making them as long as they are profiting. Even if all the profit comes from it people who hated the movie but still payed to see it, Hollywood still wins.

@@twocentscinema8587 exactly I heard a group of ppl were complaining about an south Asian rapunzel and made many angry posts about race swaps and Hollywood being woke, which inspired south Asians to reply and say they will go see the movie in huge numbers- meanwhile the movie doesn’t even exist, but Hollywood is keeping tabs and will probably make it in the future. Then I saw ppl angry that the movie “don’t tell mom the babysitter is dead” and started yelling at black ppl for the race swap and Black ppl around the world, us, uk, Caribbean, etc said, we never asked for that remake, but we will watch it now. Ppl fall for the same thing over and over.
