I've seen pt 3 in which my hometown is mentioned and filmed. Just 1 thing, "these islands" are not the UK. But that aside, Union is a first-rate programme. The details of the survivor of the Napoleonic Wars and his ptsd, his pension and helping his brother farm. More interesting that great battles.
The only thing that bugs me is why he doesn’t wear gloves when handling all these precious documents otherwise really enjoying the programmes

Outstanding program. Will have me reading alsorts books wouldn't thought about. My own perception of the British Empire changed after travelling.
Brilliant. He always manages to tell the story we know from a different angle and with connections and overall broader contexts that make it so much more understandable and relatable. Hes such a brilliant man. Love absolutely everything he has worked on.
