      something like this. it says around $500 because there arent any prices for the cpu and gpu since its out of stock. But I got mine at MSRP which eqals around ~$1000 so the total ends up at $1500 give or take for shipping and handling. I opted for the nr200 to save and an extra $20 since I wasnt looking for the side glass panel anyway. I was also able to upgrade the ram for the same price since i bought it off my friend. Buying used may look scary at first but it is definitely a viable option if youre looking to save more money here and there

      @@MachinesMore I have a dual intake top with a single intake bot. My cpu cooler is the Mugen 5 Rev.b that works with the rear CM 92mm as an exhaust. I've been thinking of grabbing the Noctua industrial 2000rpm fan to upgrade my cooler fan since the scythe one is kinda meh and I might switch around my top fans to exhaust.
      My fans on the case are the CM sickleflow120, 2 Noctua Redux 120 1700rpm

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  3 года назад +1

      Gotcha! Sounds like you'll be changing to a bottom intake top exhaust config?
      What I'd try first before buying another fan just to see if you'd get a meaningful improvement from upgrading the fan:
      1) Put one Redux 120 (guessing these are the the NF-P12 redux static pressure ones you have) on the heatsink. This is a static pressure fan so it's at home on a rad or a heatsink.
      2) Try the Kaze Flex as a case fan (maybe on its own header so you can run it faster)
      Typically speaking the Noctua iPPC fans are a bit overkill for a heatsink (since you'll never want to run them fast because of the noise). A suitable upgrade would be NF-A12x25, NF-F12, those are all good Noctua options.

    • @SteffanMcC
      @SteffanMcC 3 года назад

      @@MachinesMore I had a sneaking suspicion you had a hackintosh when you referenced your daily build in your other videos based on hardware. I hear intel is a little smoother to get running, plus I found an amazing deal on a i7 10700kf a few weeks ago ($289). Since I don't have all the parts yet, I'm still researching and deciding between opencore vs. clover.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  3 года назад +1

      Yup! That was an awesome deal! Not having the integrated graphics may make graphics card troubleshooting a little more troublesome though, but if you go with OpenCore and a mainstream card like an RX580, 5600XT, 5700XT you should be able to get a config.plist template with the correct gpu config that should at least let you boot in with discrete graphics so you can tune further. Clover is a bit easier to setup but more difficult for future updates. I ran Clover for the last five years, up until earlier this year, finally made the switch over to OpenCore and it's hugely flexible for hardware changes and OS updates, just a bit more involved for the initial config.plist setup at the beginning (but not hugely so- just be careful with the documentation).

    • @SteffanMcC
      @SteffanMcC 3 года назад +1

      @@MachinesMore I was worried about not having integrated graphics, but I've read a kf cpu isn't impossible to use for a hackintosh. I picked up a 5700XT so I'm glad to hear it can still be done from you. I think i'll try with Opencore based on your info. I appreciate the tips!

    this is super helpful, i think TG makes more sense in high end build, and black is the way to go for making these cables kind of blend in. Undervolting gpu will do great here! So both Noctua can fit in the TG without issue, I guess it’s time to find these with black fans!

    Nr200P Case - Mounting Slim Fans In The Stop Bracket With Push Pins.
    Hoping you can offer a solution: In building my NR200P I placed my fans at the top, but the right-hand fan hit the plug on the power supply preventing me from installing the screened top. So I moved these fans to the bottom. Feeling I needed more airflow I purchased two slim fans (120mm x 120mm x 15 mm) which will work if I can figure out how to mount them!
    The push pins that came with, are two long and don’t hold the fans tight up against the rubber grommets!
    I bought some shorter pins but they turned out to not hold the fans in, and fall out when. I go to install the fan plate/frame to the case.
    Do you know of another method to mount and hold the fans in place?

      Jack, it’s about 1.5 degrees better than the TG in the same vertical mounted position. Not hugely better. My take on that one was it’s really a unique scenario to use the vented side panel plus vGPU since if you’re using the vented panel side mounting the rad and a horizontal gpu is enormously better for everything.

    I actually didn't get a black screen on boot up when the mb was set to auto. However it did cause a lot of issues and the driver wouldn't install that threw me for a huge loop. I thought it was the drivers.
    Also I noticed GPU thermals were better at the bottom when my fans were installed backwards so I had all exhaust.

      @@MachinesMore correct. It was driving me nuts. I wasted a good 1 hour or so trying to figure it out because it wasn't downright broken I was actually leaning harder on it being a driver issue, esp since I ported over an OS drive from a previous system. • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  3 года назад +1

      The biggest impediment to inside mounting is your mobo position. A regular thickness AIO just won’t fit at the top unless you go fanless. I am working on a custom loop build with a few mods which will use a top and bottom rad, that might give the community some ideas.

  • @mohamedahmed1023

    I think when testing airflow, you should work with higher TDP components as they stress test your cooling. Components like a 3070 and Ryzen 3700X can be cooled easily, even when layout is suboptimal. With a 10900K with a 3080, you really can't get away with anything. So it may have been best to to just test with your 3080 and a hotter CPU as whatever results you got there would work with lower tdp components.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  3 года назад

      I hear you- the main thing here was looking for very big/high-level inferences. The finding was that there is a large impact for the GPU in the vertical position, and there is a big impact on CPU thermals from the GPU exhaust passing through a bottom mounted rad. A heavier thermal load would just see the same issues, on a larger scale.

    • @MachinesMore

      On the basis of the heatsink alone I think the U12A and the Scythe Fuma 2 are very well matched, but the U12A has better fans out of the box (also costs more). Either should fit with the vented panel.

    • @MachinesMore

      I can see how that would happen, with the stock tool-less solution there's not a lot of clearance between the fan and the grill- theoretically you could space it out with a little rubber bumper or something if you really wanted to keep the stock fan.
